How good is Link Assistant Suite? and how good is the SEOmoz API?

Ive gotten many mixed opinions on Link Assistant and its complete suite, I wanted to get some opinions on the matter..

Anyone use these tools?

What is the difference between these tools and other tools on the web?

Would adding the free SEOmoz API into this software show better results?

I've only got a small amount of experience with this tool set and from that I've made the decision to avoid it.

A lot of the sales copy makes me not want to buy it as well - it seems like it would have been great circa 2004 but if you tried to get me to buy it now I'd probably say something rude.

Functionality of SEOmoz crawl page reports

I am trying to find a way to ask SEOmoz staff to answer this question because I think it is a functionality question so I checked SEOmoz pro resources. I also have had no responses in the Forum too it either. So here it is again. Thanks much for your consideration! Is it possible to configure the SEOMoz Rogerbot error-finding bot (that make the crawl diagnostic reports) to obey the instructions in the individual page headers and http://client.com/robots.txt file? For example, there is a page at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm month=5&day=14&year=2007 that has – in the header -
<meta name="robots" content="noindex"> </meta name="robots" content="noindex"> This page is themed Quote of the Day page and is duplicated twice intentionally at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm?month=5&day=14&year=2004 and also at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm?month=5&day=14&year=2010 but they all have <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> in them. So Google should not see them as duplicates right. Google does not in Webmaster Tools.</meta name="robots" content="noindex"> So it should not be counted 3 times? But it seems to be? How do we gen a report of the actual pages shown in the report as dups so we can check? We do not believe Google sees it as a duplicate page but Roger appears too. Similarly, one can use http://truthbook.com/contemplative_prayer/ , here also the http://truthbook.com/robots.txt tells Google to stay clear. Yet we are showing thousands of dup. page content errors when Google Webmaster tools as shown only a few hundred configured as described. Anyone? Jim

API Limit

I have some problems with API Access. All time i send more than 10 requests per second i got HttpError() {\n "status" : "503",\n "error_message" : "This request exceeds the limit allowed by your current plan. To increase your request limit, see: http://www.seomoz.org/api/pricing"\n}. My Plan is Low Volume and continually got this 503 error. How to solve this?

Too many on-page links

I received a warning in my most recent report for too many on-page links for the following page: http://www.fateyes.com/blog/. I can't figure out why this would be. I am counting between 60-70 including all pull downs, "read more's", archive, category and a few additional misc. links. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Or what I might do to rectify? Perhaps it's just an SEOmoz report blip... We currently don't have the post list rolling to additional pages so it's kind of passively set up to be endless, but it's in the works.

Benefits of reducing on page links

This is more of a discussion point. What would be the measurable results of reducing the number of on page links, specifically on a home page, but let's assume by way of a large navigation menu most of the pages have a lot of links" For instance, would any of the stats on the MozBar be affected (let's start with the home page). Would the Page Authority or MozRank change at all, perhaps because there is less "juice" flowing out of the home page? Thanks! 🙂

SEOmoz API - Links and Anchor Text Calls

Hi, I'm testing out the SEOmoz API - however I'm stuggling to understand the use of the Cols parameter within the "anchor-text" method. I've looped through increasing numbers of "Cols" for a standard query and there just seems to be no logical pattern.

Best place to start link building

I am new to SEO and want to start doing some link building using SEO moz to help. I am looking for pointers on where to start. Our business is www.hairbowcenter.com and we sell ribbon and hairbow supplies. We are lacking a lot of good links and I wanted to start focusing getting more. How to track with SEOMOZ a website in several language

Hi, We have a customer with a website in EN, FR and ES. They used Joomfish, so each language is in a subdirectory : sitename/en sitename/fr sitename/es and they want their website to be well placed on the web for all that languages and countries: English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. It is a website for specific affiliation, that's why there is no barriers. What I need to do to use the best way SEOmoz. For the moment I created one campaign following Google US, google Germany and Google France. To go deeper, I would need to create different campaigns in my account? And also, your robot will be able to recognize the different subdirectories and languages? And to improve the SEO of this website, it wouldn't be better to have 3 domains name, one for each country? Why would PA be 1 (0 links from 0 root domains) if it's linked to internally?

Question just about said it all: I've seen a number of pages on sites that have a PA of 1 (with the metrics being 0 links from 0 root domains) when I can see on the site that it is linked to internally - from the main nav (which is CSS, not Javascript) and also from the footer, if not other places. Why would this be? Update: upon looking further at the site, it appears that there's some kind of redirect going on, where the page linked to from the nav actually redirects to the real page. Would that eliminate PA, even if it's a 301? And additionally, is whatever is causing this lack of PA a reflection of how Google would relate to the page? Thanks, Aviva
