Google Analytics Organic Keyword (Not Provided) Alternative Hacks?
-
I'm sure everyone is sick of the (Not Provided) keywords because I know I am, and Google reckons that you should only see 10% or less (I'm currently around 13% and growing).
I am seeking alternatives or hacks that will help display the keywords? If you have a hack to actually display the keywords, please share it your ideas and thoughts?
I recently implemented a hack that will show the landing page of the keywords which is better than nothing. But as an eCommerce site, I have about 10% of my transactions which not provided, knowing the keywords would really help.
Would love to hear your thoughts?

Sad to see there is no alternatives but thanks for the info. I'm sure one day the 10% average might be 80% average.
Thanks for the link already using that which is quite useful better than nothing.

No hack is going to show that data I am afraid. The data is not just not being shown, it is not being provided by Google, which means that they are the only people who now have it.
It's worth noting that you can probably expect to see you 13% rise. Internet Explorer is now also using SSL search as standard, Firefox has moved this way and Bing is doing it too. I already have sites where 80% of transactions from organic search are (not provided).
There are workarounds out there to shed some light in to the shadow that (Not Provided) casts. Some of the more notable approaches include:
One of the more useful is appending the landing page where the term is (Not Provided). See http://econsultancy.com/uk/blog/8342-how-to-steal-some-not-provided-data-back-from-google for a how to.
I quite like that approach as it isn't trying to fool you that you have the data, but instead is just giving extra information when you don't. In practice it is surprising useful - particularly on a long tail heavy site.
I'm not so keen on the approaches that try to extrapolate the data you do have to plug the gaps. Approaches that rely on either the assumption that the (Not Provided) traffic is made up in the same was as the traffic where the KW is known, or that your traffic will follow the same patterns as it did before (Not Provided) became an issue do not work for me. I think they can send you off on a dangerously uninformed path.
Sadly (Not Provided) is here to stay. I think we all have to just deal with that fact and find new ways to measure and analyse rather than trying to find ways to fill in the blanks

Universal Analytics: Why does Google Organic appear as Direct traffic?
Hi there, When I enter the site via Google Search and follow myself via Real-Time Analytics I appear an organic visitor (which is good). When I browse and visit the site I still am an organic visitor. However, as soon as I fill in the contact form (gravity forms) and land on the "thank you page" I appear as a direct visitor with Google as the source. Since I have the thank you page set-up as a goal, Analytics incorrectly attributes these conversions to the direct medium instead of the organic medium. The tracking code has been installed on all the pages and all conversions are being recorded. What is going on?

How to setup Google Analytic goals that go to different urls?
I would like to setup my form's conversion rate as a goal in my Google Analytics account. The goal is complete when someone enters their information and hits submit. Logically, the "Thank you page" would be the destination url for the goal. My problem is that the thank you page is outside of the primary domain, for example, my site is: SiteExampl.com but the Thank you URL is thankyouurl.com Is it possible to setup a goal like this? If so how. Thanks in advance!

Testing IP Exclusion Filters in Google Analytics
(I hope I haven't missed something simple 😉 I have add IP exclusion filters in Google Analytics. What I haven't been able to determine is how to test to see if it is working. I'd imagine there would be a dip in traffic but if a site is low volume it might not even register. Thanks!

How to not track mobile redirects in Google Analytics
If a user is on a mobile device and comes to our home page, http://www.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/ they are redirected to http://m.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/. We want a way to remove all the redirects from our Google analytics reports. More specifically we do not want to include the the page view of http://www.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/ in our page view count when the user is on a mobile device. How do we do that?

How to remove unwanted dynamic parameters from a URL in Google Analytics
Hi, Would really appreciate some help with this. I have been experimenting with RegEx to achieve this but as I’ve never used it before am currently failing miserably. We have conversion pages i need to set goals for that are formatted as below: https://www.domain.co.uk//Application_Form/(S(ewhbqp5cki0mppuzukunkqno))/enterCardDetails.aspx I need to remove the (s(xxx)) section from the URL as rather than one pages i currently have thousands of unique URL's. What’s catching me out is that as it’s not a URL parameter I can’t discount and as half way through can’t just do head matches etc to /entercarddetails Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Google Analytics Goal Funnel Visualization Issue
I've setup a goal funnel but am having an issue when I look at the funnel visualization. It doesn't appear to be recognizing the 1st step of the funnel that I've defined in the goal edit page. The "Property Listing page view" is located at /listings/xxx where xxx is the number of the property. Within the funnel, I've added /listings/*, but when I go to see the funnel visualization, I see 0 counts for this step (even though it clearly shows on the entrance page to the left "/listings/622, etc". I've attached a .pdf with a few images to help make this clearer. Any thoughts? CRD-Funnel.pdf
