Blocking Google seeing outbound links?
-
Apart from rewriting the outbound url to look like a folder 'abc.co.uk/out/link1' and blocking the folder 'out' in the robots.txt file, along with also nofollowing the links as well, is there anything else you can do?
-
The links are already cloaked 'Jump URLs', the way you described.
But as I have found if you do that without the nofollow added to the link, Google indexes the cloaked url as it looks like it is part of the websites structure.
If I just nofollow the link Google may not pass link juice through it but it must still count it as a outbound link, now not saying I have but if I had a page with 50 outbound links with only nofollow I believe this will still have a negative effect.

This question is full of mystery. If you "nofollow" an outbound link, Google won't count it, and this is the safe thing to do for untrusted links 99% of the time.
But why would you not want Google to "see" the link? There is a technique called "masking" or "cloaking" in which you redirect the link through a blocked directory (via robots.txt), then use php or another method to send the link on it's merry way.
This is often done with affiliate links. Do a Google search for how to mask (or cloak) affiliate links and you should find several techniques to do what you're looking for.

You'll need to create the link on DOM load with Javascript. Google won't crawl a dynamically loaded DOM.

Why is it a big deal?
How about noindexing the page?

Problem with internal links.
Hello,I am trying to do an audit of the internal links of my site at zenplugs.com. I am having great difficulty simply trying to establish how many internal links there are on the home page. Off the top of my head I think there are probably 20-25 but Screaming Frog tells me there are 574, the MozBar is listing zero and Open Site Explorer is telling me my site hasn't been indexed yet. I have tried several web based services but most of them don't work. Can anyone recommend a tool which has given them a number they trust? My second query is that one of the tools told me that there are 4 links on the home page with no anchor text, linking to http://zenplugs.com/#. Is this a problem? Many thanks, in advance. Toby

Do contextual links hold more weight?
Hi, Say you have an article, does a link in the content itself hold more weight then including it in say the byline? I have read so many times a link higher up the page, contextual has much more benefit than a link way below the fold separated from the main content within a byline. Thoughts?

Related Items Links
Hi, If an item page has 'related items' links and 'you may also like' links - and both those are essentially the same links, doesn't it make sense to only have one set?

Duplicate Links
Hello, I am entering sitewide navigation that will go to primary seo pages. This is really for usability, not for link juice. I'm wondering if I should still link to these very important pages in my index page's content. Or if I should consider those navigation links strong enough. If I did link in the content, then I would have more than one link to the same page on my home page. Thanks Tyler
