Sudden SERP drop?
-
I'm wondering why my mainpage of my site just disappeared from google while a post from my site ranks at #11 on google.
I currently only have 1 .edu backlink to it and the anchor text is my url site : http://www.domain.c0m
What is the meaning of this? I checked my on page optimization and I got an A. The only problem I saw with my site was keyword stuffing on the homepage because my posts contain the keyword and its listed 26 times on the homepage but that shouldn't be the problem.
-
Wait I thought if people are doing exact search, you don't use quotes?
-
"Except changing up the robots.txt, adding meta descriptions to everything and more...."
Seems like there could be a correlation to your changes and how your site is ranked to me.......... Not knowing exactly what changes were made its tough to say.
Can you provide more info or a link to your site?
-
How long was you ranking for the term before it dropped? week, month, years?
Try putting quotes round the term and see where you rank so "Swimming Fast"
-
Over the last two months all my sites (20) were down yet consistent in traffic.
Then last week I experienced a boost across the board. All separate sites all experiencing a very good increase in traffic.
Now - the last 7 days the drop in traffic has been steady and moving in a downward spiral, and yes, again across the board. What was significant that my anchor store (since 2002) was really dead in the water.
Site 21 (a political blog) with a PR 6 was beginning to show real signs of wear but it's recovering slightly.
Penguin, Panda, or whatever these sites are well monitored, all still very well indexed so maybe its the warm weather, summer fun, boredom but business is down, way down.
-
I know I didn't get slapped because I rank #4 for another keyword similar to it; for example:
my keyword is swimming fast
I still rank #4 for swimmingfast but I am not seen on SERPS for swimming fast.
I am not keyword stuffing though because my posts show up in the home page and several keywords pop up in the snippet portion and I cannot remove it. I can minimize my posts to the page to 1 but then my webpage isn't visually appealing. I haven't done any 'major' changes to my website except changing up the robots.txt, adding meta descriptions to everything and more.
So yes, it was out of the blue =(
-
Was this drop out of the blue or has there been some recent changes? Sometimes when there are significant changes made there are equally drastic changes in SERPs.
I do know that keyword stuffing is BAD and have seen it negatively impact pages on one of my sites in the past. Has this Key Word density always been high?
Not having any more information about your site, I would have to suggest addressing your KeyWord issue at hand and see if that moves things in the right direction for you.
If you can provide more information or a link to your site, I will bet many people will be happy to provide some great insight to your issue.

Very different serp rankings for different countries
Hi! A client of mine has a global presence and we are therefore tracking serp rankings for multiple Google domains; google.com, google.ie, google.co.uk for example. One page is ranking quite well in Google.ie (position 11 right now) while at the same time ranking extremely bad in both Google.com and Google.co.uk (position 100+). How can that be?? I did do some optimization (for example Title and Desc) before the rankings in .com and .co.uk went really bad (they were higher before (pos 30-40)). But it is the same page Google indexes...but the results are very different. How can this be? What can be done? Thanks!

Sudden drop in rankings over 7 days
Hello fellow SEOs, I am having a few issues with one of the sites I manage. The site in question has dropped for a number of terms in the last 7 days, including: logo design - dropped 2 places, now 19th logo design uk - dropped 2 places, now 8th logo designer - dropped 3 places, now 20th bespoke logo design - dropped 3 places, now 10th I'm worry that the site might drop for more terms if I just leave it alone. I haven't made any changes to the site but I have noticed that our number of inbound links has increased by 58% in the last 7 days. I have put the site through OSE and used the spam analysis tool. There's only one domain linking to my client that has an orange spam flag but this link isn't newly acquired. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Some Old date showing in SERP
I see some old date Jan 21 2013 showing up for some categories in Google search results. These are category pages and I do not see the date in view source. This is not a wordpress site or a blog page. We keep changing this page by removing/adding items so it is not outdated.

Traffic drop with no explaination
Hello Everyone, I made a post a few months ago about one of my sites, Poker On A Mac dropping off the face of google. I found out that it was hacked, and redirecting traffic from google to other, pharmacy websites. Doing some research, I found out it was the WordPress PharmaHack, and we ended up recovering from it. Now, since October 23rd traffic has went down again mainly organic traffic, I tried to see if it was hacked again, with the same thing and their was nothing I noticed. I was wondering if anyone could give me any insights as to why this happened? Thanks Zach CwFda.png

How long does it take for Google to index a new site and has anyone experienced serious fluctuations in SERP within 2 weeks after launch?
Hi guys, I have recently launched my ecommerce jewellery site - www.luxuryfinejewellery.com - and noticed some serious swings in SERP over the last couple of weeks. From ranking No 2, 3 and 4 for the keyword 'luxury fine jewellery' on Google.com, the homepage periodically disappears from the Top 50 altogether. I thought it was the Sandbox, as I recently purchased the domain name, within the last 6 weeks, however the fact that it does rank on the 1st page some of the time is a mystery. Has anyone also experienced this? Could you provide some advice on what to expect until the the rankings settle. Thanks in advance, Satbir

Robots.txt Showing in SERP Results
Currently doing a technical audit for a website and when I search "Site:website.com -www" the only result is website.com/robots.txt I was wondering if anyone else has come across this before -- or what this may mean from a technical audit standpoint. Thank you!

Redirected Subdomain Development URLs Showing In SERPs?
I develop client websites within a subdomain of another website (with noindex, nofollow so that incomplete websites on the wrong domains aren't ever seen by web users). Then, when we launch a client's site on their own domain, we redirect all of the development URLS to the appropriate page on the new live site. (meaning at site launch, all pages on http://client-site.developersite.com would be set to 301 redirect to identical pages pages on http://www.client-site.com). This system has always seemed to work fine, but today I discovered 94,700 pages indexed by Google on my root domain and found that these were mostly old URLs of sites in development that redirect to the actual client sites. Many are several years old. Any idea why Google would be indexing these pages? Thanks in advance!
