Is opensiteexplorer down?
-
I've not been able to access opensiteexplorer.org for a couple of hours now, the front page says "it looks like something went south... we have been informed" etc.
Can somebody please answer the following for me?
- Is anyone else having experiencing this or is it me?
- Is there anywhere on this site that shows service status for these things?
- Does this happen often?
Thanks
Steve

OSE being down was actually not related to the delay in the index. It was related to the severe weather in Virginia that took out some of Amazon's cloud servers (the same reason Instagram, Netflix, Pinterest, Raven Tools, and a bunch of other sites were down last night).
We did update our Twitter feed as soon as we were aware of the outage, though I see we didn't update the known issues page (which has a link from the SEOmoz pro dashboard). I'll mention that to the team as we do our evaluation of this downtime.
Typically we keep Twitter updated when we're having any type of outage, maintenance, or see anything wonky possibly going on.

Ok, cheers for the info

yep, it is down. From what I understand they are trying to fix some bug - you can read about it at
https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21655043-mozscape-index-update-temporarily-delayed-until-july-6th
No it does not happen too often - never seen it down before personally but I suppose as with any software - oops things can happen. This outage is more of an oops thing rather then chronic problem.

In OpenSiteExplorer, why is HTTPS not an option?
Our website (https://www.guardly.com) is using secure HTTPS protocols. For whatever reason, in the "Top Pages" section, OpenSiteExplorer only has pages that were online years ago and hasn't updated its index to retrieve index and show links for HTTPS pages. It's pretty frustrating as we are trying to optimize our website and it's really hard to get feedback/data from the service for new pages on our website. Any comments/thoughts would be really helpful.

No internal links showing up in OpenSiteExplorer report
Hi there A simple one. I was just looking at our site in opensiteexplorer and notice that it says we have no internal links at all: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s244/sh/dd8cc88f-fee4-4ba2-8ec0-f3f8d5c408db/8d3fc3d2aa6fc9d5406051bc91731402 Rather odd as we do. Is this a bug with OSE that anyone knows about or something else? Any ideas / thoughts gratefully received.

Finding affiliate links with opensiteexplorer
Hey guys, I'm trying to develop lists of our competitors affiliates using opensiteexplorer using the following method When logged in to seomoz, go to http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ Search for<rival company="" domain=""></rival> Select Show ALL links from ALL pages to PAGES ON THIS ROOT DOMAIN and SHOW LINKS UNGROUPED Click 'Filter' Click_ 'Download csv'_ Open the csv in excel and filter the Target URL column for any known part of the affiliate link (example ?a_aid) - this leaves you with a list of the affiliate links Filter out duplicates Is this the best process? I have a feeling I'm missing some as OSE truncates to 25 links per domain. It would be nice also if OSE could do the filtering for me. Any better ways to do this?

How do OpensiteExplorer handle HTTPS pages?
For historical reason my entire site (https://www.banknorwegian.no ) is in )HTTPS. I am trying to use opensiteexplorer to get a linkprofile. But then I only get the links that point to www.banknorwegian.no (without https://) . Is it possible to use it for https pages? Also, I assume some of the same problem arise when I use the keyword difficulty tool. The pages I have show up in the result, but they have a Page Authority that has to be made from just links to the http version.

OpenSiteExplorer Doesn't Show accurate links
Why do I get different results from SEOmoz tool bar and OpenSiteExplorer for some sites. For instance I look at one site and toolbar says it has 101 link domains, so I check it in OpenSiteExplorer and it says 2 link domains...? Am I missing something, or is it just not working properly?

Haver ever seen opensiteexplorer be way off?
What is the deal with this: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfstoragestartup.com Based on the links it is showing, there is no way in hell that it should have a domain authority that high. What am i missing here? There is practically nothing on this site, and hardly any backlinks, yet OSE thinks it has a huge PA and DA!?

Why Do Domain Link Metrics Differ in Keyword Difficulty Report vs OpenSiteExplorer
If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great. It seems as if the two tools are using different versions of the database?

SEOmoz Toolbar vs. Opensiteexplorer
Dumb question, why is the SEOmoz Toolbar reporting vastly different data than opensitexplorer? I had assumed they pulled from the same data set. False assumption? Am I misinterpreting the metrics? The discrepancies with which I am most confused are differences in number of root linking domains between OSE and Toolbar. Please enlighten me.
