Are seo press releases with links from PRWEB helpful ?

I am thinking of doing some press releases from PRWEB. they offer a press release with live links for better seo effect. Is this really effective ? Has any one seen this to be benficial ?

Hey Jane, a little off base here. Let me try and help.
Can you say which search terms you are going after? If you can drop them in the post (or PM me) then we can look how difficult they are, look at your site and
Really, I would look at doing this with some content. It seems like you know why this is a better machine, start talking about it online. If there are some kind of tanning communities or other blogs, see if you can network with some people and do some guest posting to generate some better links with more longevity.
Honestly, it all depends on how competitive it is for the keywords you are after but a few high quality links, some focused service type landing pages and some content articles to try and go after the larger slice of search than just dry transactional queries will all help.
If you blog about tanning, share your knowledge, use twitter to network and reach out to lots of other tan / beauty related blogs and see if you can guest post. Identify some targets, add comments, get friendly with folks, let them see your amazing blog, then ask if you can guest post. You would be surprised how easy this can be and if your competition are just doing the same tired old stuff then... you will see results from this.
PRWeb - meh, can be okay, but for what you want to do, you may be better writing content for your own site and networking with other bloggers. If you are small as well, a few quality directories, maybe there are some vertical directories? Maybe there is a tanning community where you can share some knowledge, make some more contacts etc.
Hope that helps!

In an easy answer yes they are helpful but they don't like you spam links so be smart about it. And what you are trying to accomplish

Hello Marcus,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I am new on here and want to try and understand better.
I have a tanning salon and have just gotten a new spray tan booth that is a bit different than most as its open concept so the client does not breath in the over spray. in my opinion its a little safer than most spray tan machines.
I want to get my spray tan page ranked #1Â in my small city low competition, and thought the press release would generate enough links and exposure to get that done.
In general will the live links on the press release hosted on pr webs site help in this regard ?
Or does the press release have to be linked to by others to get the value ?
or am I totally way off base ?
-
As with anything like this, if you are spamming out some press releases to generate some easy links, don't bother. The links won't do much and they will sink from site in an internet minute.
If you are using PRWeb to generate some exposure for something that is kind of cool, and that people may actually link to outside of PRWeb then it can have some merit.
So, to answer your question, yes and no. Yes if you use it as a tool for exposure, no if you use it for a tool to generate 'easy' links.
Hope this helps!
Marcus

SEO Strategy - Content/Outreach/Links
Hi everyone I'm trying to prioritise my tasks for 2018 & wondered if anyone had any useful templates they use? In terms of SEO tasks, my priority was going to be content/outreach/links - Focusing on user guides/blogs onsite Then outreach articles/some PR that doesn't go against Google guidelines offsite. My struggle with the onsite content/blogs we produce is we have no real social media plan/manager so my content outreach always seems hampered by this. I've tried taking on some of the social stuff, but this ends up being too much for just me to do. I wondered if there were any other SEOs who face this issue and who have found some good solutions? I'm stuck in a bit of a rut and can't seem to effectively push forward with outreach/content writing. Thank you Becky

SEO Impact of External links in JS tag
We have our JS tag and iframe tag being used over by 100 leading websites. What would be the SEO impact if we added a follow link in the iframe. Would it have any negative impact ? Vivek

Do authority brand (business name) anchor text links still drive SEO rankings?
i have a question about links....if you get a link from a really good authority e.g. Â bbc.co.uk - website but the anchor text for that link is only your business name e.g Moz and not a chosen SEO keyword target..do you still stand to gain in terms of your overall SEO rankings?

Should I remove all vendor links (link farm concerns)?
I have a web site that has been around for a long time. The industry we serve includes many, many small vendors and - back in the day - we decided to allow those vendors to submit their details, including a link to their own web site, for inclusion on our pages. These vendor listings were presented in location (state) pages as well as more granular pages within our industry (we called them "topics). I don't think it's important any more but 100% of the vendors listed were submitted by the vendors themselves, rather than us "hunting down" links for inclusion or automating this in any way. Some of the vendors (I'd guess maybe 10-15%) link back to us but many of these sites are mom-and-pop sites and would have extremely low authority. Today the list of vendors is in the thousands (US only). But the database is old and not maintained in any meaningful way. We have many broken links and I believe, rightly or wrongly, we are considered a link farm by the search engines. The pages on which these vendors are listed use dynamic URLs of the form: \vendors<state>-<topic>. The combination of states and topics means we have hundreds of these pages and they thus form a significant percentage of our pages. And they are garbage 🙂 So, not good.</topic></state> We understand that this model is broken. Our plan is to simply remove these pages (with the list of vendors) from our site. That's a simple fix but I want to be sure we're not doing anything wring here, from an SEO perspective. Is this as simple as that - just removing these page? How much effort should I put into redirecting (301) these removed URLs? For example, I could spend effort making sure that \vendors\California- <topic>(and for all states) goes to a general "topic" page (which still has relevance, but won't have any vendors listed)</topic> I know there is no distinct answer to this, but what expectation should I have about the impact of removing these pages? Would the removal of a large percentage of garbage pages (leaving much better content) be expected to be a major factor in SEO? Anyway, before I go down this path I thought I'd check here in case I miss something. Thoughts?

Can anyone help me clean up my link profile?
Hi, I've been struggling with my rankings for some 18 months or so. Â It seems like the plan is to review my back links and remove or disavow the ones that could be causing my site problems. Unfortunately I neither have the time or expertise to perform this task and wonder if there are any freelancers who could work on this project? I look forward to hearing from anyone.

Looking to increase the quality of our backlinks with a press release: Business wire or Prweb?
Hello all! We are looking to increase the quality of backlinks to our new website www.unitedfitnessmarketing.com and wondering which service would be more beneficial. Care to share any preferences or advice? We have been live for about 3 1/2 months now. We are in a tough niche to find related backlinking websites. We are in the health club marketing consulting field. I just paid for a business.com listing but was thinking a quality press release would give me more juice. My competitors have used free press release services so I'm thinking I could easily one-up them and gain some ground in the rankings. Leaning more towards business wire b/c it's a berkshire hathaway company but would like more input. Thanks!

What next with SEO
I've been working on my site for over 2 years and have some very good links and now have a PageRank 4. My site has fallen down from page 1 to page 4 for 'Web Design London' which may be due to not putting much work into link building in the last 6 months. The site is pretty well optimised onsite but there are less that 20 pages of content. With time constraints in place because I have to run the business, would it be better to increase the content, seek out more links or outsource the work. Ideally I would do both but money and time restrict this. If I was to outsource, do you have recommendations and rough prices? Thanks

SEO - What Should We Do...
Hi Guys, Hope your all OK. Were having major problems with our homepage ranking for our main keyword - we were originally 4 but over the Christmas period our SEO company reported a fault with one of there servers that they were using for links, because of this fault these links were de-indexed from the search engine and in turn we have plummeted to 10th... At the time we had a landing page with an exact match keyword in it, e.g: www.ourdomainname.co.uk/key-word/ we were told to 301 this to our main page in Google but when we have looked today its now showing this page instead of our homepage. We also have another domain that we are using for a forum at the moment, now this domain name is an exact match doming e.g www.keyword.co.uk. The question is do we gamble and 301 our whole site to www.keyword.co.uk and see if we can get this ranking better? Thanks, Scott
