.gb.net domains good for SEO?
-
I've found a .gb.net domain with a highly competitive exact match term for sale. Do .gb.net domains rank well within google? Or are they considered not as authorative? Is it worth purchasing one?
-
In terms of SEO there is no extra advantage of it! And at the same time this sounds a bit difficult. In my opinion the domain name should be short, simple and easy to remember instead of all this shortcut tactic…
-
Do you care to ever have people get directly to your site without having to search for it? If so, consider how annoying, confusing or otherwise hard to remember having a convoluted TLD combination is.
Beyond that, you don't get extra bonus points for a .gb.net domain. And if there's a .com domain with that exact match already in place, and that's been around and established with SEO for a while, the advantage goes to that established domain until you overcome it via other methods.

Domain dominance
I've just started to work for a company who've purchased masses of domains with every conceivable permutation based on all their products with every extension possible e.g .biz . eu. .net (including .co.uk and .com of course). I have two questions: 1. Is it worth keeping all these (they want to add more) domains or let them expire? 2. All the purchased domains are online - is there any point (they redirect with a 301)?

SEO issues with Magento
Hi Everyone, We use Magento CMS for our site and we are having a frustrating time resolving our SEO issues. The site was very poorly managed in years past and in the past year I have redesigned and cleaned up many things. However we are recently having trouble with indexing and keyword ranking. Issue #1: Our main keyword ranking has dropped quite a bit while our other less important keywords have steadily risen. I suspect a very strict robots.txt implemented back in early January may have been the culprit. We have since been modifying it with out much luck. Many of our pages are still blocked. 12/05/12 : ranked 12th 1/09/13: ranked 19th 1/16/13: ranked 35th Now: out of top 50 (52nd) Issue #2: Not a single image is being indexed. We are 0 for 582 according to Webmaster tools. Not sure why... Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as I have great determination and interest in learning the correct way to fix/do this. Domain Issue
Starting a new local travel guide site. Would like to buy a domain and have found one with decent Domain Authority and Trust, but they want $2500 for the domain which I feel is a bit steep since I will be not using any of the content and it is generating hardly any revenue now. . I would rather not start from scratch with no links and no trust. I have a few questions.... -Any suggestions on sites to look for domains or strategy for finding and offering to buy? Any guidelines on how to value domains? If I but it and change registration do I risk losing all the value? Cold I just change technical contact info? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Good idea to point all registered domains to main site?
We have close to 60 domains that we are considering pointing to our main site. Is this type of a redirect a good idea? We have a number of domains that are industry related but do not have our brand name in the domain. Should we point these sites to our homepage as well? Pros/Cons? Examples: <colgroup><col width="201"></colgroup> XXXXX.BE XXXXX.BIZ XXXXX.BZ XXXXX.CC XXXXX.CO XXXXX.CO.UK XXXXX.COM XXXXX.INFO XXXXX.JOBS XXXXX.ME XXXXX.ME.UK XXXXX.MOBI XXXXX.MX XXXXX.NET.CN XXXXX.NL XXXXX.ORG.UK XXXXX.TW XXXXX.US XXXXX.WS XXXXXEXCHANGE.COM XXXXXONLINE.COM WIDGETSRUS.COM WIDGETBLOG.COM |

New Site: Use Aged Domain Name or Buy New Domain Name?
Hi,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | peterwhitewebdesign
I have the opportunity to build a new website and use a domain name that is older than 5 years or buy a new domain name. The aged domain name is a .net and includes a keyword.
The new domain would include the same keyword as well as the U.S. state abbreviation. Which one would you use and why? Thanks for your help!0 -
SEO for Log in Sites
Hello, I just lunched a website where you have to sign up and to log in in order to use it. So I have the home, also a blog but then the rest of the pages are let's say it "hidden".How would you do the seo for it? I have been cheking facebook, foursquare and some others and they use different approaches. Facebook uses the same description in every single page for example. My site is similar to foursquare users have profile, stats, history, ranking. Well, what is your advice?? Thanks a lot
