What Should I Do With My URL Names?
-
I release property on my blog each week, and it has come to the point we will get property in the same area as we have had in the past.
So, I name my URL /blah-blah-blah-[area of property]/ for the first property in that area right.
Now I get a different property in that same area and the URL will have to be named /blah-blah-blah-[area of property]-2/.
Now I'm not sure if this is a major issue or not, but I'm sure there must be a better way than this, and I don't really want to take down our past properties - unless you can give me good reason too, of course?
So before I start getting URLs like this: /blah-blah-blah-[area of property]-2334343534654/ (well, ok, maybe not that bad! But you get my point)
I wanted to see what everyones opinion on it is
Thanks in advance!

If, as Collin says, you are not in to deep you could change them and 301 the old to the new and then going forward you could just use the new format.
-
Nice, so simple! Doh . . .
I think it's possible to change all the URL's automatically as well with permalinks, is that right?
I guess that is not a good idea though as the current links are all over facebook, twitter, etc and it would be a MISSION, to say the least, to set up 301's. Not to mention losing juice.

Hmm, didn't think of that to be fair. Nice

I would suggest reformatting your URL structure to something simpler before you get too far in to change it.
For example, URL.com/ [area of property] / [date blog published]
Date was just the first thing that sprang to mind, you could use any unique and relevant info about the specific property you're discussing. I would pick something to use initially and try and stay as consistent as possible.

Would it be possible to just add the new property to the old page without removing the old property? Just add the new one above?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but the old page will already have trust etc...

What to do with dynamically translated content sharing same urls?
We've just added to an originally English website, Italian and German translations. User can switch between them with right hand drop down language selection menu; then the entire page will be translated (including menu, body, footer) but the urls remain the same. The Italian page have some meta data (titles and descriptions) translated as well. Is it going to be a significantly negative effect on SEO to have the translated pages sharing the same urls?

Product URL Optimisation
Hi guys, We are currently trying to add new products to our site but we are in a quandary on what type of URL structure to pursue. For example:

Product Name: Aspect Exfoliating Cleanser 240ml https://www.example.com.au/aspect-exfoliating-cleanser-240ml (including the size)
VS
https://www.example.com.au/aspect-exfoliating-cleanser 1.) Which is a better URL structure based on SEO 2018 and why?
2.) Is there any merit in removing the size from the URL key with the aim of attracting more traffic? Keen to hear from you guys! Cheers,0 -
Should I include URLs that are 301'd or only include 200 status URLs in my sitemap.xml?
I'm not sure if I should be including old URLs (content) that are being redirected (301) to new URLs (content) in my sitemap.xml. Does anyone know if it is best to include or leave out 301ed URLs in a xml sitemap?

Magento Trailing Slash URL Problem
Howdy Mozzers! Our magento store URL's are accessible with or without a trailing slash at the end. Canonical's and 301 redirects are not set up for one of them at the moment. Will this cause duplicate issue? Do we need to set canonical or 301 up? Which one is recommended? MozAddict

Urls in Bilingual websites
1-I have a bilingual website. Suppose that I am targeting a page for keyword "book" and I have included it in that page url for the English version: English version: www.abc.com/book Can I use the translation of "book" in the second language of the website url instead of "book" ? Please let me know which of the following urls are right " French Verison: www.abc.com/fr/book or www.abc.com/fr/livre livre=Book in French 2- Does Google have any tool to check if the second language page of the website has exactly the same content as the English version. What I want to do is for example for a certain page in English version, my targeted keyword is "book" . So my content would be around books. But in the French version of this page, I want to focus on keyword "Pencil" in French instead of "book". Is it wrong or any consequences? That was the main reason for the question number one. Because if it is ok to do what I explained in item 2 then I will set my urls like: In English : www.abc.com/book In French: www.abc.com/fr/crayon crayon=Pencil in French
