Page Penalization
-
Hiya,
Looking for some advice, i have a page which the on page optimization tool shows as an A grade and Google has indexed it. I have checked vie site: however is not being found in search results even for an exact match on the page title which is very specific.
I believe the page may be being penlized for over optimisation? any advice would be great!

The title of the page in question is the same term twice (the second time just includes 'in') The H1 is just the same term. Your H2 reads like it was only meant to stuff the term into it rather than actually be a header to help the reader know what the page is about. Every instance of the term in the copy is bold... just that kind of stuff. Less is more in today's SEO - at least that is what works for me... I would have to say that if this wasn't Manual Action the Panda just realized that the site was built for Google instead of the user. I am not speaking ill of your website at all - that is just how I see it. I am sure others may have different opinions.

Hi Andrew,
I went to that URL and found the following phrase:
"Packs which are designed especialy for those on holiday with"
I put that into Google as a phrase search, and that page from your site DID show up. Along with 14 other pages from your site. Have you looked at how much unique content is on each page versus how much is duplicated across pages?

Hi Billy
Thanks for your prompt reply, could you give me some insight into what you believe is over optimized on the page, there are a number of pages which seem to be being penalized including the homepage.
It is a new site so don't expect high rankings but in the top 50 i would at least thought have grasped by now!
Have not recieved any kind of message from Google and webmaster tools shows only expected errors ( few 404's etc).
Thanks

You mean only this page, correct? Although I agree that the page is over optimized, I wouldn't say it is any more over optimized than the home page... when I search the home page's focus term (family holidays spain) I don't find your site. Did you used to rank well? Has Google sent you a notification of Manual Activity, meaning that you have been knocked back?

Unsolved On page grader
All of my keywords score a 53 using the on page grader. When I look at the notes it indicates I don't have the keyword in question anywhere on the page which, while true in some cases, is not always factual. Does anyone have a similar experience?

How can I deal with tag page duplicate issues
The Moz crawler reported some dupliated issues. Many of them have to do with tags.
Moz Pro | | IamKovacs
Each tag has a link, and as some articles are under several tags, these come up as duplicate content. I read Dr Peter's piece on Canonical stuff, but it's not clear to me if any of these are the solution. Perhaps the solution lies somewhere else? Maybe I need to block the robots from these urls (But that seems counter-SEO-productive) Thanks

On page analysis showing old results
Hi, My on page crawl analysis is showing that I have 38 duplicate content issues. These issues are because we had used tags in our blog. We remove all the tags 10+ day ago but the crawl that was done 5 days ago is still showing the tags as causing a duplicate content issue. Why would this be? We cannot correct is as it is already corrected. How do we get moz to crawl the correctly? Thanks Andrew

Duplicate Page Titles & Content
We have just launched a new version of a website and after running it through SEOMOZ we have over 6000 duplicate title & content errors. (awesome) 😕 We have products that show up multiple times under different URLs however we "thought" we had implemented the rel=canonical correctly. My question is - do these errors still show up in SEOMOZ despite the canonical tags being there OR if they were "correct" would we be getting "zero" errors?

How does SEOmoz pull its duplicate page title and content information?
I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site. For example: http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool. http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist). ?? We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from. When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up. Thoughts? Thanks! Janelle

Third crawl of my sites back to 250 pages
Hi all, I've been waiting some days for the third crawl of my sites, but SEOMOZ only crawled 277 pages. The next phrase appeared on my crawl report: Pages Crawled: 277 | Limit: 250 My last 2 crawls were of about 10K limit. Any idea? Kind regards, Simon.

Duplicate Page Titles and Content
The SeoMoz crawler has found many pages like this on my site with /?Letter=Letter, e.g. http://www.johnsearles.com/metal-art-tiles/?D=A. I believe it is finding multiple caches of a page and identifying them as duplicates. Is there any way to screen out these multiple cache results?
