How can I capture search terms and forward it along with my contact form?
-
I would like to be able to capture the keywords when someone comes to my site with a PPC click or a keyword search. I can't imagine that this is an uncommon request, but I can't find the tools that would let me do that, or heck something that will help me build it myself.
What is everyone using to capture search information from people who contact you?

Here's some PHP code to accomplish this:

I've always had the luxury of assigning implementation of keyword capture to programmers, and they've always been able to implement the functionality by pulling that referrer string, parsing it out, and placing it into a hidden form field. If anyone knows of a plug-in I'd like to test it, but a developer should be able to do this for you pretty quickly.

I will definitely take a look.
We got an email the other day from http://infusionextreme.com/infusion-tracker/
It looked like it did everything we wanted, but to use it requires a subscription to infusionsoft which is $200 a month...needless to say we moved on.

I can't give you anything definite, but I do the fuzzy seo wordpress plugin on one of our sites, and that pulls the keywords out of the referrer for use on the site. You can find it here:
I'm not a coder by any means but it looks like the guts of the program is in the .inc file once you've installed the plugin.
Wish I could help more but it's all I've got.
EDIT: If anyone is using wordpress it's quite a nice plugin definitely worth taking a look at.

I am not aware of a tool that will email or send you the keyword or phrase that was used to find your site when they send a message to you via the contact form but Google Analytics (or any decent analytics package) should provide you with the terms used to locate your site and specific pages.

Strange - Search Console page indexing "../Detected" as 404
Anyone seen this lately? All of a sudden Google Search Console is insisting in Page indexing that there is a 404 for a page that has never existed on our client's site: https://........com.au/Detected We've noticed this across a number of sites, precisely in this way with a capitalised "/Detected" To me it looks like something spammy is being submitted to the SERPs (somehow) and Google is trying to index that and then getting a 404. Naturally MOZ isn't picking it up, cause the page simply never existed - it's just happening in Search Console 2afc7e35-71e4-4e25-80a3-690bf10776a7.png It comes and it goes in the 404 alerts in Console and is really annoying. I reckon it started happening late 2022.

Google My Business app search report
What is the deal with the search reports in the Google My Business app? I downloaded this app so prospective customers could message my business, and when I look at the search reports on the app, the results seem nonsensical. According to google analytics my business receives pretty steady traffic every day. Why does the report say that I receive zero visitors one day and 400 the next? (See the screenshot below) 4yLRCHG

Hey guys, any advice on why my 'search analytics' in Google Webmaster tools is blank with no data?
I have added all the website versions into Google web master tools and I have no crawl errors. When I click on Search traffic these pages are blank - search analytics, & Mobile usability. And When I fetch as Google the status is constantly saying me 'temporarily unreachable' - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Differences in organic search visits and non-paid keyword visits
Hi folks, I was just wondering at the disparity between the "Organic Search Visits" total in the Traffic Data tab and the total visits from "Non Paid Keywords Sending Search Visits". Once you add up all the traffic generated from the individual keywords (including the not provided numbers) shouldn't the total match the number of organic search results? Or is there something I'm missing? At the moment the total visits from non-paid keywords is about 2,000 short of the total organic search visits.

How can you tell if your new content has been indexed?
Other than simply doing a search in each case, is there any way I can tell (in Webmaster Tools, for example) if the 500-1000 new pages of content I have added have been indexed and are now appearing in search results? My traffic hasn't risen much, but I know at least a few of them are in there... How can I tell when they're all in?

Google Secure Search Announcement: How do you think this will play out?
So, I read this post on the Google Blog and then this commentary about it. Wondering what some of you veterans think about how this will impact results. I always remain logged out for queries and use several different software tools to check when I run an analysis. Since social influences are becoming a bigger factor, do you think this is going to create some issues in data? What are your thoughts?

Can you get local search numbers/traffic out of Google Analytics?
With Google's new local search I am more curious as to market penetration on keywords that are now localized to my different US cities. I understand that you can separate out Google traffic based on regional Google domains, but I am curious if there is an effective way to separate out searches and keywords based on a my local US Metros? If google cannot do this, any recommendations on products that can? Thanks.
