Why does SEO moz show so many more duplicate page titles than webmaster
-
My SEO moz duplicate page titles are more than double the webmaster duplicate page titles. Plus, some of the items appearing in SEO moz are not really duplicates. Anyone else seeing this?
-
Might have to do with canonical urls.. pretty sure SEOMoz report doesn't take that into account when they tell you which pages are duplicate.
Best thing to do is check out what pages are getting picked up by both sources and compare/contrast similarities/differences.
-
For my site it is pretty common for SEOmoz to find things before WMT and for the items to disappear from my dashboard a lot sooner than in my WMT account.
I am always looking at both sources to figure out the issues that need to be fixed. Generally I find that SEOmoz is more comprehensive in finding duplicate page titles on my site provided that they are internally linked and within my 10,000 page crawling limit. WMT will often identify pages that I forgot even existed or that are orphaned.
As far as SEOmoz showing pages that have duplicate titles that aren't duplicates I have only seen that a couple of times and it fixed itself with the next crawl. I attributed it to a glitch and haven't seen it recently.

Mine is the opposite. Gewgil wbt is showing several duplicates that seomoz missed. Maybe you have some pages blocked to google that moz is crawling anyway? I just use the reports as guidance. In the end, what google sees as a dup is all that matters.

Why does moz give different page authority to the same page if a visit comes from adwords vs organic search?
When clicking on an adwords ad the page the landing page has a page authority of 26. When clicking on organic search to the same exact landing page the page authority is 37. Why is this. Does moz or, more importantly Google see these as the same or separate pages? Thanks Tom

Moz metrics
This discussion is strictly theoretical... I won't hold anyone to their answer. If I have 2 websites that are identical in every way and let's say the domain authority for both is 40, and I 301 redirect one site to the other, what would the DA become? Same question for single pages, both with a PA of 40. If I 301 redirect one page to the other, what does the PA become for the remaining page?

Missing Title for Sitemap
Our site is built on Wordpress and we use a very popular SEO plugin called Yoast to generate our sitemap (as well as handle multiple other SEO functions). When MOZ's spider crawls our site, this sitemap triggers an error saying "Missing Title or Empty." My question is how can I avoid having this error hurt me in terms of my rankings. It seems strange to me that such a ubiquitous plugin would be generating something as important as a sitemap in an incorrect format.

On Page Grading Not Working
I am not getting any results in on page grading. When I click on add keywords a list of keywords appears that I have previously entered. They have tick boxes next to them and you can filter them but SEO moz is not automtically creating grade reports? Any ideas? Obviously I've set it up wrong somehow.

Title Page Two Long Still shows
This should be an easy one. I signed up for this service in November. The first report showed many title pages too long etc. I fixed all known errors. On December 28 there was another crawl but the errors still show up on the report. Why? Is there anything I can do to update so I can get down to the few I missed

How do you prioritize your SEO efforts?
If you're an in-house marketing person, almost by definition, you're neither a specialist or expert in the variety of things one might do to improve SEO. We do a bunch of stuff in-house and hire people for other stuff that needs to be done and the work is never complete! What do you do, as the de facto in-house, on-staff "expert" for SEO? I'm purposely leaving this question fairly open-ended to solicit advise, ideas & direction to develop a framework and a guide for our efforts. Also, I'm not intentionally ruling out pro's...I'm open to your opinions too - but I will probably only hire you unless you have a full tool bag of skills that include the ability to write auto-responders, write & blog relevant content, set up and monitor page rank, do SEO, set up AdWords campaigns, etc. at a the nice price. And I'll only do that if I can't do/learn/achieve all of the above to a certain degree on my own. Although I'll probably never stop questioning processes, costs and everything else associated with hiring a pro...all of which will make me a pain-in-the-butt client you probably don't want. Thanks!
