Shares and tweets

I've shared to FB and tweeted my blog many times but the Link Research & Analysis With: Open Site Explorer hasnt picked them up, does this mean Google isnt picking them up either? What am I doing wrong?
-
Hey Ranjit,
Open Site Explorer shows Tweets and FB shares for the URL itself. I know it can be kind of tricky, but it has nothing to do with your Facebook page. Since OSE has no idea what your Facebook page is it only searches for mentions of the URL itself.
For example. Run a report for www.seomoz.org. We obviously have way more than 139 likes for our FB page, but the URL www.seomoz.org has only been liked 139 times.
I hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
Joel. -
Thanks I understand how links etc work. I also have some FB likes on my page. However I only have one FB share and its been months now. So it must be that its not picking on the shares for some reason.

Open Site Explorer is always behind. You can use Google Webmaster Tools to download the sites linking to you.

I don't think your doing anything wrong I have hundreds of Twitter and Facebook shares, but OSE does not pick mine up either. You can see if Google picks them up by going to Google and searching your full url. http://www.yoursite.com you will probably need to go back in the results a few pages however you should start seeing them.
What I have found with the Facebook results is that people with less likes will show up first, and Google will not display all of them, but a good portion should show up.

Open Site Explorer: Facebook Shares, Likes, etc.
I don't fully understand what this means in the report for our site: http://screencast.com/t/aG5jbkYWLA here is our site: www.discountqueens.com & we have thousands of fans & facebook likes and all the time on all our posts. For example yesterday we had 73 likes on this post alone: http://www.discountqueens.com/amazon-ultimate-shrinky-dinks-jewelry-designer-1495/ So here's my questions: Is there an error in the reporting? Are we using a social sharing method that isn't giving us valid credit for these links? What should I consider doing differently & why isn't our likes, shares, tweets & Google+ being calculated into our score?

How can competition outrank you if your site has better Domain/Page Authority, More links, and More Social sharing?
Say you have a site that has better Domain/page authority, more links, more social media sharing, and a lot more indexed pages (thanks to blogging) than the competition. Of course all of these metrics are based off of data from SEOMoz open site explorer tool which I am not sure if it produces accurate data. 1. Other than exact match domains or the age of a domain what would be other reasons why competition would outrank you? 2. Can anyone suggest other ways to help increase a sites domain/page authority besides creating more indexed pages, link building, etc..?

Sharing/Transferring SEOMOZ campaigns
What happens when you are no longer working on a campaign, and your client needs the campaign history? I don't pay for my account, my employer does. If I ever have to move on what should I do with the account? I would want to keep my seomoz profile and Q&A history. But the campaigns belong to my employer so I would have to change all of the profile settings into his name… Is there a protocol for this kind of situation?

Is there a "manager view" where I can share just one campaign?
I have an account where we manager several different domains, but I need a manager to only see ONE of those campaigns, not all of them. Is there a manager view where I an share just that one campaign?

Rel Canonical issues for two urls sharing same IP address
Our client built a wordpress site on url A, then opted for a better url B. Rather than moving all the wordpress files/website over to the new url B, they just contacted GoDaddy, who hosted BOTH urls under the same IP address. When I do a term target on url B, I'm flagged for rel canonical use. I can only get a B grade for each keyword. (I've also tried using url A, but I get the same flag and B grade results). I'm not sure if this set-up will thwart our seo efforts for the site, because only the homepage comes up when you type in url B anyway. Every subsequent page displays the original url A. Somewhere, wordpress is also adding a rel canonical link on the homepage source to url A, too, which we can't seem to edit. So, question is: is it ok to leave this set up as is with both urls hosted on the same IP address, or should we move the whole site over to the desired url B? Thanks much!
