It's all about targeting the right keywords. Sadly it is an area that lots of people get wrong and then are left wondering why they don't have traffic.
However you are promoting a niche product, so you don't have to compete on the really big terms. You've done well on the villa terms - maybe start down another seem next: maybe luxury accommodation.
-
Thank you Mat for clarification.
Now I see how it goes per keywod tool of google and am not sure now what to target at all in my SEO to get the clicks . At the end GA tells the truth and I have not targeted good keywords even am targeting strong keywords and for example amalfi coast villas or sardinia villas but there is not guarantee that I will get clicks .
Can you tell me ones more please. How can I get real organic search resuts for particular keyword just as you promote on the picture you sent me . Thanks
-
See the attached image.
Broad match searches are 4400. Phrase match are 73. Exact match are 36.
Broad match is useful if you are doing PPC, but less so for organic search. In short they are saying that:
36 searches a month are match for "switzerland villas"
73 searches a month are made for phrases containing "switzerland villas"
4400 searches a month are made for phrases that google thinks are related to "switzerland villas". That might include "swiss hotels" for all we know.
As I said - it is VITAL to understand what those numbers represent if you are doing your own SEO work.
-
Thanks but dont get it simple as I am going on google keyword tool and it tells me global search is 4400 and not 73. Local Gb search is 1300. I do understand it is a phrase and it can be and switzerland villas and villas in switzerland villas switzerland but on all am in first 5 .
I dont get where you get this results of global search for this term 73 global monthly searches as I per google see differente as above?
Thanks
-
Sorry - that just isn't a great phrase. As a phrase match "Switzerland villas" only has 73 Global monthly searches. As an exact search [Switzerland villas] has just 36. Although kwt estiates are never particularly accurate at small numbers, you are not going to get more clicks than there are searches.
The broad match numbers are not really relevant if you are focusing on the organic term.
I'd broaden the phrases you are targeting. Chalets would seem to be a word with more potential for Switzerland.
-
does it means that is nothing if i have keyword switzerland villas or villas switzerland with search 4400 global and GB 1300, on the 3-7 position on .com and Uk google cant get not even a 100 cliecks a month for ?
-
Looking just at that first key term: (initials cdav). keyword tool shows 210 GLOBAL searches on a broad match. <10 on local. However switch that to a phrase match and it is <10 on global.
That means that any traffic from that term is a good thing. It just is not a busy phrase.
When doing keyword research it is absolutely vital that you understand the difference between broad, phrase and exact match.
I doubt that is the answer you were hoping for, but I hope it helps none the less. I would start researching additional terms.

sent per PM . Thanks
-
Can you share the keywords (by PM if not publicly)
-
I dont know . Its results by SEOMOZ. The keywords are good ..but simpple dont understand why isnt it shown as well and on the GA
Thanks for clarification

There are really 3 possible causes.
- You aren't ranking as well as you think you are
This is probably the least likely, but depending on how you are checking results you might not be ranking as well as you think. If you are using seomoz rank checker you can ignore this one. - Your click through rate in the results isn't good
Best way to check this is through Google Webmaster Tools. That will show you your CTR in the organic results. It could be that your snippet just isn't engaging people - They keywords you are targeting aren't as busy as you thought
The most common reason for this that I see if that people base their traffic expections on "broad match" in the keywords tool.
Hopefully that will start you off in the right direction.
- You aren't ranking as well as you think you are

OSE seems to be less and less accurate
Howdy folks, Into our 3rd year of using MOZ and OSE and well not sure about you guys but I think OSE is reporting less and less accurately. Has anyone seen a drop in it's accuracy or ability to delivery what it claims to? I know many of you also use AHREFS and others but why not get this tool right MOZ?

Seasonal keyword tracking locally?
I'm managing a project for a local fence contractor in Wisconsin. During Fall, his site was getting a fair amount of traffic. (We only track traffic from the State of Wisconsin and exclude office IPs.) For November, traffic tanked and keywords fell. Is there a way to check the search volume by month to see if the recent extreme cold and early snow are the culprit, (people not searching for fences), or should I be looking elsewhere for a problem? I know I have to get more pages optimized for ideal keywords but time is extremely tight on this project. (But, that's another problem and story all of itself!) Thanks!

Too many on-page links
I received a warning in my most recent report for too many on-page links for the following page: http://www.fateyes.com/blog/. I can't figure out why this would be. I am counting between 60-70 including all pull downs, "read more's", archive, category and a few additional misc. links. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Or what I might do to rectify? Perhaps it's just an SEOmoz report blip... We currently don't have the post list rolling to additional pages so it's kind of passively set up to be endless, but it's in the works.

Issue: Duplicate page title
Hello, I have run the "Crawl Diagnostics" report using SEOmoz pro and it says that I have a total of 56 errors. 18 of those errors being duplicate content and another 38 errors being duplicate title tags. Now I have looked at both reports and detail and the reason I am getting there errors is due to the fact the it is checking "http" and "https". So for example: my website is http://www.widgets.com On the crawl diagnostics report, it also checks https://www.widgets.com So it looks like I have duplicate content and duplicate title tags because of this Now my question is this: Is this really duplicate content? If so, how do I fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Duplicate page content and search in Magento
Hi all, Firstly, I am a business owner and not a SEO genuis but I work on my site and am learning how to "tweek" everyday. That said, my site www.vintagetimes.com.au needs a bit more than a tweek. Here is problem 1: I have massive duplicate page content which is being driven primarily by search and I'm not sure how to tackle the issue. Working in Magento. Could anybody give me an instruction on how to steer robots away from search results? I would also like to know WHY a search result is here as well? Example of about 20 pages of this type of result: | Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=created_at&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=metal&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=name&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=price&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=relevance&dir=asc 50+ 1 0 Search results for: '1 carat' Vintage Times http://www.vintagetimes.com.au/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=1+carat&enable_googlecheckout=1&cat=21&order=stone&dir=asc | 50+ | 1 | 0 |

Question about difficulty score of keywords
I have a question regarding keyword selection and the difficulty score. I get the idea that you need to temper your desire to go after keyword phrases that generate lots of traffic with the reality of competition for that keyword, which is conveyed by the difficulty score. But how do we know when the difficulty score is too high? And isn't this relative to a website? If my website is in the top 1% of traffic, can't I go after more difficult keywords than if my traffic is in the top 10%? Are there guidelines or best practices to help with this decision? How do I know whether my website is "strong" enough to compete for a keyword that has a high difficulty score. If we already rank on page one of Google for numerous keywords with difficulty scores of 50 or so, is that an indicator that we can try to rank for other keywords with a difficulty score of 50? When do we know that we can start trying to rank for more diffcult keywords?

API returns only 3 results
Hi all, I'm using the links seomoz API, and it's working great for me, except it only appears to return 3 results. Seems to only return 3 results on the anchor text api also. Is there something basic I'm not doing to get more results? Thanks!
