Hello,
We wanted to start hosting our own blog and was wondering (long term) if we are using embedding links to our inner pages in our blog entries if it would be a problem with Google long term? We have a designer that suggestes a custome look to match the site, and leave the wordpress plugin.
Should we continue to contribute to blogger, and wordpress (free) if we are hosting our own blog?
How important is a branded blog name? We were going to host it and name it
Thanks so much!!

Should we follow the same with our Press Releases, lately we've been doing approx 400 words per release with roughly 1 link per 100 words. Would you recommend less?
Thanks

- main domain is stronger than subdomain site.com/blog/
- it can be set up anywhere and pointed to a virtual directory it doesn't have to physically live on your site
- I would use the brand name and keep building your brand
- if you are using the blog for SEO purposes think of them as landing pages, not just places to add links for your site. each page/topic should target a keyword phrase in hopes of bringing organic traffic to that page
- don't overdo links on your blog posts or it looks spammy and mix up anchor texts. maybe two links to your main pages in each blog post
- blog posts must be 500 words or more too make sure Google doesn't think you're pages are too flimsy/thin
- set up the blog with SEO plugins, it's easy for a blog to not be configured properly and hurt your site if you allow everything to get indexed like tag and category pages for example

Should we work on a name? Or just use the Brand we are trying to build now
site.com/blog our host wants us to go blog.site.com for security reasons.
I just wanted to make sure before we put the effort in, of cource the majority of links would be linking to main/inner pages.
Thanks

If you have the man power to post quality content to the blogs it can only help I would not stop your blogger/wordpress blogs just to have it on your own domain

Blog post back link
Hi, I am new to SEO and I am planning to hire someone in Fiverr regularly to submit different guest posts on the different related topic on the website with a good domain authority (>60) as a result to have some quality inbound links. As I am writing the guest post myself, May I know how many backlinks should I have per post are best for SEO? and should I only focus on anchor text backlinks? Also, here is my understanding of what I should be careful when hiring someone on Fiverr to do a blog post, please let me know if I am wrong and if there is another thing I need to be careful. It needs to be dofollow link It is permanent I check the website domain authority and spam sore that the person provides before using it. Please let me know if I missed out something. Appreciated Kind regards Chris

Cluster of outbound links on blog
Hi, If a blog has a section which contains 40 outbound links almost like a blogroll do you think Google looks at this cluster as suspicious? Could this come across like paid links to Google?

Moving content archive from a new blog to a mature content website?
I'm working with a publisher who has a young blog that is 6 mos old and is considering folding it and moving it's archive of content into a relavent, more mature website. This blog already has numerous links directing readers to this more mature website. My question is would it make more sense to leave the blog in place and continue to publish new posts and benefit from the link relationship with the mature website? Considering the blog is relatively new, would it matter much if we folded and moved it's archive?

Blog Commenting - Useful?
How useful are you finding blog commenting to be regarding link building? I was having a discussion with someone about this today, and I thought some input from the Moz community may be helpful. How helpful do you find blog commenting to be in link building? Do you have any evidence of effectiveness/ineffectiveness? Is it something you still currently do (for link building)? Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys!
