Find New Keywords Tool - Information is not accurate
-
When using the Find New Keywords tool, the information listed for Rank is often incorrect. I attached an image with two screen shots. One from the Find New Keywords Tool and the other is a Google search results page.
In Incognito mode, I searched for the third item on the list, "Speak Creative Memphis." The results put us at #1 for that term, but the Keyword Tool shows that we're #4.
Can you help me understand why there is a difference?

Thanks, Megan. That makes perfect sense. I appreciate you making that more clear!

Hi Jacob,
This is Megan from the SEOmoz Help Team. I spoke with one of our engineers and found that the rank section of 'Find New Keywords' isn't referring to rank in the traditional sense related to the SERPs. What the 'rank' refers to in this instance is the rank of that keyword within the keywords sending traffic to your site. So, "Speak Creative Memphis." is 4th in sending you the most traffic out of the keywords on the list based on the number of visits last week.
Sorry this is confusing! I'll definitely see what we can do about making this more clear.
Cheers!

Your #1 on SEOMOZ http://db.tt/7RbO3SxF shows what I got

The reason for this is google puts more power in the first words "Speak Creative Memphis" the other is you did not use a , it should be "Speak Creative, Memphis" not "Speak Creative Memphis" and Facebook has a page rank like no other. Google thinks that's one keyword. Hope I have helped, Tom

Finding a list of all inbound links
Hello. I just used Open Site Explorer to find inbound links to a site. But it does not seem to list all inbound links. I will be changing a lot of urls on the site, and I would like to put in 301 redirects only for the pages that have links to them. Is there a way to find all inbound links and the specific pages they link to? Thank you!

SEO process suggestions / keyword analysis
hi all, we've done a bit of SEO over the years for our site, and are looking to pick things up this year and spend more time on SEO. first off, we are working on revising our keyword list & would like to view what keywords specific competitors are ranking for and try to target those keywords as well. is this possible via SEOmoz (similar to spyfu)? please let me know if you feel this is a good first step in picking up our SEO efforts for the new year. i've been looking at the research tools & is seems the Keyword Difficulty Tool hasn't been fully functional for the past week or so ("Our Keyword Difficulty Tool is having issues displaying AdWords API data. We are working with the AdWords API folks to get a fix soon!"). also, i noticed i can enter competitor sites in open site explorer & compare link metrics, but i don't see anywhere to compare keyword metrics. is there something i'm missing? thanks again everyone!

Adding LinkedIn to the new Social Media tool
I am loving the new Social Media data that SEOMoz recently added. I am sure more will come soon, but I wondering if they have plans of adding LinkedIn Company pages as apart of a campaign to track. Does anyone have the inside clue about this? Do you think it would be a good idea as well?

On page optimisation tool issues
When viewing my campaign and looking at the on page optimisation tool, I have a few issues. I seems to only shows the keywords I want rankings for and how optimised my homepage is for those keywords. Is there any way I can get it to analyse permanently specifc keywords for specific pages because my homepage isnt optimised for some keywords which are on my list, which I have optimised other pages for, and because its looking at my homepage its getting a really low grade, and looks really bad and frustrates me because I cant work this out. Any help greatly appreciated.

Question about difficulty score of keywords
I have a question regarding keyword selection and the difficulty score. I get the idea that you need to temper your desire to go after keyword phrases that generate lots of traffic with the reality of competition for that keyword, which is conveyed by the difficulty score. But how do we know when the difficulty score is too high? And isn't this relative to a website? If my website is in the top 1% of traffic, can't I go after more difficult keywords than if my traffic is in the top 10%? Are there guidelines or best practices to help with this decision? How do I know whether my website is "strong" enough to compete for a keyword that has a high difficulty score. If we already rank on page one of Google for numerous keywords with difficulty scores of 50 or so, is that an indicator that we can try to rank for other keywords with a difficulty score of 50? When do we know that we can start trying to rank for more diffcult keywords?

SEOmoz LDA tool experience?
http://www.seomoz.org/labs/lda Does anyone presently use this tool as a regular part of their SEO analysis? Does anyone have any updates regarding this tool? It is still in the lab despite no updates for over 6 months. Is it being retired? Or promoted to production? If you do use the tool, what % of relevance is your goal when optimizing pages?
