How do I retrieve crawl and ranking data about a site from the past?
-
Hey.
One of my main clients has asked to see the crawl data and rankings data for the past eight months.
He wants to have tangible evidence of the effects of Penguin.
I would like that info too.
Is it possible to retrieve that information on a weekly crawl and ranking basis through SEO Moz and if so, how do you do it?
I simply want to show a graph, timeline and brief explanation across several main keywords...
Help me as you guys always do -
You rock
Best
Ben

Hey Ben how long have you been tracking this client's site in SEO Moz?
-
An account with SEOmoz does give you historical ranking information... but only from the time you created your account. There is no system that will give you historical rankings from a date prior to beginning the ranking log. There are other factors you could use to determine if your site was hit and possibly determine a loss in ranking. General traffic loss would be the prime indicator. If your traffic took a huge dive when penguin went live then you can likely attribute that loss to the update.
As far as keywords go, you can compare keyword traffic to your site before and after the date. Sadly "Not Provided" can skew this data. You would need to look for changes greater than the "Not Provided" average. Most changes, however, are based on so few numbers that the margin for error is pretty high.
Honestly your best bet is to look at pre and post penguin traffic. I have a site that dropped by half. Conclusively a penguin attack.

Rankings go up and down, up and down, up and down
Almost every week we have more than a two dozen keywords that will all suddenly increase in rank only to then decrease in rank right back to where they were the previous week. This happens constantly despite the fact that we are doing very little SEO-wise on a week-to-week basis. What might be causing these constant shifts?

1 page crawled - again
Just had to let you know that it happend again. So right now we are at 2 out of the last 4 crawls. Uptime here is 99,8% for the last 30 days, with a small downtime due to an update process at the 18/5 from around 2:30 to 4:30 GMT In relation to: http://moz.com/community/q/1-page-crawled-and-other-errors

Ranking - UK or Localised?
The MOZ rankings are based on a GOOGLE UK search, when in reality when someone does a search on Google, the results, by default, are localised (based on the City IP). We need to see where we rank for a local search (Leeds) and also for a UK search?

Hey All I was hoping a friendly mozzer might help me out, heard they're hard to track down though 🙂 I see OSE automatically has the http:// for the URL you enter. Anyway to tell if an https:// version of a page has backlinks coming into it with OSE? Thanks! -Dan

Rankings not surfacing all my keywords
Usually they have a little day icon of when they will be updated, but I did some adjusting from around 65 to 98 keywords, but only 54 show up. Is this normal? Do I just need to wait? Some of my page 1 keywords are MIA.
