Your Site and Google News Question

My site has been in Google News for about 3 years. Over the weekend, I received this message from Google
Hi John,
We periodically review news sources, to ensure Google News offers a high quality experience for our users. When we reviewed your site, mainstreetmonroe.com, we found that we can no longer include it in Google News at this time.
We reviewed your site and are unable to include it in Google News at this time. We can't include sites that don't have a formal editorial-review process for submitted content. If this exists on your site, please let us know where and we'll be happy to review your site again.
Mainstreetmonroe is scheduled to be removed from Google News for a period of at least 30 days. After this 30-day period has elapsed, you can re-apply for inclusion in Google News provided your site meets our guidelines. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Please note that you'll still be able to find your site in Google Web Search and other Google services.
Thanks for your interest in Google News.
Regards,
The Google News Team
What exactly do they mean? I submitted my website news section, but they have been displaying our forum area in the news too. I think the forum is what GN is talking about.
What is the best way to fix this problem? Move the forum to a subdomain?

Have you submitted a news sitemap? It should only include links to your news articles.

Also it looks like they want to know more about your editorial review process. Here is the standard message from google about being included in News results.
We typically include sites in Google News that:
- have news content reporting on recent events - please note that we don't
include informational and how-to articles, classified ads, job postings,
fictitious content, event announcements, advice columns or adult content; - have content that is original to the site;
- are written and maintained by a clear organization, one that has
multiple writers and editors with accessible contact information; - don't solely promote their own activities or products;
- don't violate Google's quality guidelines available at

- have news content reporting on recent events - please note that we don't

How best to handle on-site blogs for multiple site views in Magento?
Hi, I'm working with a site on Magento with views for UK, US and FR websites. Currently they have a French WordPress Blog that is pulled into the French site view and an English one that appears on both the US and UK views. Of course the problem here is that the US and UK views are duplicating content so these needs sorting super-fast. The plan is to disconnect the US view from the current English blog and create a dedicated US onsite blog. However, should we continue to use WordPress or instead use an alternative blog module or plugin for Magento? Cost is an issue and running three separate blogs and the cost of plugging these into each site view. However, getting these right for SEO is the most important factor here. I'm also concerned about the mess of multiple plugins causing page speed issues etc... My instinct is to go with WordPress, but I'm keen to hear what others think or have experience of.

Online Publisher networks (Splash Press) Question
Hi, If you can get into a network as a writer it's great because you can expose your brand on high auth websites without the hassle of having to build a relationship with each site - once your in, your into all the websites on the network. So question is, isn't this going to be bad for SEO, I assume all the websites are on the same server and I have seen some where they interlink in the network. Apart from that though they look really great, good fresh content, high DA/PA, lots of social activity etc. A couple I have come across are: Splash Press & Alloy Digital (If you know of any more please post them up).

Embed WordPress blog into site or /blog?
Hi, Just a quick question - I assumed it would be a better to have a WordPress blog in a sub folder rather than a sub domain however I just wondered would it offer any more / less value if I just embedded the WordPress blog into my existing code? Thanks, Dan

Google Authorship for guest posts
I've set up google authorship on my site and my image appears in search result for posts.I run wordpress and my categories are also indexed but it doesn't show up for categories of posts? Is this possible? My other question though is that I do a lot of guest posting and want to get credit as a google author when I post on other people's sites. What code do I need to add at the end of guest posts so that I'm credited as the author via google authorship?

Users reporting that there is a virus on my site.
A few months ago I found out that someone had hacked my site and placed malicious code and modified my .htaccess. I am pretty certain that I have cleared up all of the bad code (within 12 hours of it being infected). Yet, I am getting people telling me that their virus checker is warning them of a trojan on my site. Is there anything that can be done? I have no malware warnings in my Webmaster Tools. The site currently has 2 articles that are going viral and I'd hate for that to be screwed up by a stupid virus!

Content being copied from our product page hurting our site overall?
On our product pages, he have short descriptions and some bulleted lists. Resellers of our products, and many other sites who are not resellers are copying this content, often verbatim. While I'm not as concerned for the product pages themselves as we're hoping the category pages will rank, does this duplication of our content hurt our site overall? FWIW, our brand name is in our domain and often also shown on these sites that copy the content.
