That's a great point about social media. Often, social media sites will have a much greater authority than the review sites. If you build up a strong online presence on even the basics:
- YouTube
- Google+
- Vimeo
Then you will be pushing the bad reviews further and further down the results. Even better than that, you will be showcasing the solid community that you have built up. People will go on these social sites and learn more about you and if you are communicating well then they will surely like you. It will give you a great competitive advantage.

To elaborate on this, the most basic "reputation management" technique is to make sure you have an active, popular presence on every social network. If someone searches your business name, your social media sites are likely to rank well, possibly pushing down bad reviews.
I don't think it's a killer to have bad reviews out there, though. Consumers understand that reviews are subjective and people have different experiences. I'm an enthusiastic Yelp user, and honestly, I get suspicious when a restaurant or business has no bad reviews.
Now, if a company has a nasty write-up on Rip-Off Report or the like, that's a bigger problem. There's a good write-up on ways to handle that here: http://searchengineland.com/how-to-remove-ripoff-reports-from-google-not-just-bury-them-65173 Ultimately, the best strategy is to simply be a better business.

If you delete your site links there will be less links for people to click to your site and they may click the bad reviews more. So don't delete your sitelinks.

Bad reviews are a common issue with SEO as the sites that host these reviews often have high authority. The only way you can really remove these from the results page is to create better, valuable content that will eventually outrank the reviews and push them further down the results page.

Setting Up A Website For Redirects
I've got an old defunct domain with a lot of backlinks to individual pages. I'd like to use these backlinks for link juice by redirecting them to individual pages on the new domain (both sites belong to the same company). What is the best way to set this up? I presume I need some kind of hosting & site, even if it's just a default Wordpress install, which I can then use to set up the redirects? Would it be best done using .htaccess file for 301 redirects or some other way?

Mobile website content optimisation
Hi there, someone I know is going to put their site to a mobile version with a mobile sub domain (m.). I have recommended responsive but for now this is their only way forward to cope with the 21st April update by Google. My question is what is the best practice for content, as its a different url will there need to be a canonical tag in to stop duplication and thus being penalised from the Google panda update? Any advice much appreciated.

Remove Directory In Webmaster Tools
Hey Moz'erz, I'm removing some URLS from the index and want to confirm the use of the "remove directory" request. If my structure is this: /blogs/customer-success-stories/tagged/ --- all pages that are /tagged/abc, /tagged/dce etc. will be removed correct? First time trying a directory removal as their are 100 plus of these tagged pages. Comments, suggestions and past experiences welcome!

Creating a Blog of Rodent Removal Companies?
I am helping a small company. Lets say rodent removal is their service. But local SEO for rodent removal is very very competitive in my town and across America. Would a website/blog dedicated to highlighting rodent removers across America be good for my company? We have had nice success with wordpress.com blogs. Supposing I gave 6 other rodent removal companies a free guest post (always 300 words or more) or whatever to post on my blog. Of course, none of these companies would be in my market. Would that help my local SEO? I am thinking long term here?

Websites being hacked & duplicated, what should we do?
Hi, please help! Our website was hacked and being totally duplicated. They even injected codes to intercept our orders. Although the codes issue had been solved, still there're two mirror sites out there. When search for some of our key words, they even have good ranks. What exactly can we do to let Google ban those two sites. Thanks in advance!

Are all duplicate pages bad?
I just got my first Crawl Report for my forum and it said I have almost 9,000 duplicate pages. When I looked at a sample of them though I saw that many of them were "reply" links. By this I mean the "reply" button was clicked for a topic yet since the crawler was not a member, it just brought them to the login/register screen. Since all the topics would bring you to the same login page I'm assuming it counted all these "reply" links as duplicates. Should I just ignore these or is there some way to fix it? Thanks in advance.

How long to come back from a server outage?
We changed hosting companies two weeks ago, and we had a number of configuration issues that caused the site to go on and offline over that weekend. We fixed the problem but our traffic took a noticeable hit. I am assuming this is because our rankings dropped due to the site being down. Now that we're stable again, how long will it take for the traffic to return? is there anything I can do to speed up the process?
