Optimising for a specific location

Hello,
I think I know the answer to this but I'm sure there's more to be told. If I optimised a site for a particular city and keyword, let say bespoke kitchens Edinburgh. Do I really need to add the Edinburgh word in if I am mentioning Edinburgh in a different context on other parts of the site?
So I would just be using and optimising for bespoke kitchens which is a far easier phrase to fit organically into written text. The Edinburgh (location) word would be mentioned but in different sections of the text, I might even use Glasgow & Fife (other catchment area locations)
Would search engines then still rank me for searches for "bespoke Kitchens" searched for by someone from Edinburgh or does it need to read "bespoke kitchens edinburgh"?

I deal with this same issue on my sites. I've read this advice a number of times: "optimize for the user first and the search engines second," and I think this is wise. My advice would be to try to get that exact match somewhere in your titles, URL, maybe in a heading here or there, but don't do it at the expense of making your copy sound weird.

Your answer is yes. OK, so both are correct. One mistake I see made is the overuse of the geolocator (Edinburgh). First, you need to insure that in Google + for business you have set up your business in Edinburgh (assuming that is where you are). Not knowing how many pages you will have for bespoke kitchens, I would suggest if you want to include Glasgow and Fife you create separate pages for each of them. This will be more likely to garner traffic from there than having them in places on the site but unfocused.
If your business is in Edinburgh and someone in Edinburgh searches for bespoke kitchens without you having used the geo locator over and over, you will still have a likelihood of showing in the searches. Having the word Edinburgh after bespoke kitchens every time is hard to read and makes the reader want to leave the page. That is not good SEO. Have it once in the title tag (but not everyone unless your brand has Edinburgh) and place it in the URL, the H1 and a couple of times max in the text. You should be fine.

Should I use location in keywords in a campaign?
We're setting up 25 campaigns for clients and many of the keywords in each are identical. Rather than creating a keyword with a specific location for each client (pool builder san francisco), would it be more effective to use only "pool builder" as the keyword and then set the location for the San Francisco area? I cannot add a specific twitter account
Adding competitors twitter accounts, there is one that I've repeatedly tried to add but I keep getting - "Uh-oh! Account can not be tracked. Please enter a valid account". I've copied and pasted, manually typed, removed all caps... repeatedly get the same error. The other two accounts I added had no issue going in. Anyone else have something similar that they found a workaround for?

Geo / Location-Based Local or City Level Rank Tracking in SEOmoz
Is location-based rank tracking going to be a feature in SEOmoz any time soon? I've seen in a few other company's tools that I can select a city in which to center the search around, for example... if I track the keyword "pizza" and set it to check rankings for "Seattle", it would give me different results than I've I selected "Milwaukee". The reason for the variation in results is due to maps listings in the results sometimes. So, my question is, will location-based rank tracking be coming to SEOmoz soon? Scott

Site Optimisation for ktichens!!
Hey Guys, I am about to begin to optimise this site www.stuartandersonkitchens.co.uk for some keywords such as edinburgh kitchens, quality kitchens edinburgh etc as he is based in edinburgh. I am also going to be doing some work behind the bones of the site optimisiing alt, meta data, micro data etc. Also I am thinking about creating a FB, Twitter, Youtube profile and possibly adding him to a few directories (DMOZ etc), some local & running a small adwords campaign using the freebie credits. I will be altering some of the content in order to have it more amicable to the engines. Can I see backlinks to a specific URL, not including redirects?
Does SEOMoz have a tool that allows me to see backlinks to a specific URL sans redirected URLs? So, URL is www.website.com/search. www.website.com redirects to www.website.com/search and I want to see how many people have linked to the /search, the resulting URL. Thanks for any help! Erin
