What is the difference between my pages' keyword rank and keyword-specific SERP?
-
I've been tasked with identifying high volume keywords for products our company sells and optimizing our copy and listings to rank higher on Google. The Keyword Explorer and On-Page Grader have been fantastic for this, but as I write my reports, i'm not sure whether SERP or Moz's keyword page rank would be more accurate for reporting results and movement.
For instance, one of our product pages ranks #12 for the highest (relevant) volume keyword, but when looking at the SERP analysis for that keyword, our product page actually shows up at #7 down the list. I've tried naturally searching in Google in case it was an issue of private results based on my user data but it seems to give the same result. Am I conflating two different tools? Or is the Moz rank just an estimate?

Hi BJake,
Moz & Google use different ranking factors, similar but different as they both have their own crawl spiders. If you're tracking the site on Mox base your figures on that campaign, & any of Mozs tools that you have.
Other than that, have you looked at you Google Search Console reports?

Duplicate Content: Marketing Page / Content Page
So I am getting duplicate content warnings on my website for my pages white paper and webinar video pages. Each white paper / webinar video page is behind a marketing form page that must be filled out. I am getting a lot of warnings that the marketing page and the content page are being picked up as duplicated content. In the past, both the marketing page and the content page were given the same title and url, the body content is not similar. My question: Is the URL / Title similarity enough to set off the duplicate content warnings and would changing one or the other solve the issue?

Root domain or 'www' subdomain for campaigns?
I am setting up a campaign and I am unsure whether I should specify the root domain (prohibitionhats.co.nz) or the 'www' subdomain (www.prohibitionhats.co.nz). Are there any guidelines for this or will Moz automatically aggregate the data for both irrespective of the domain you choose? Thanks Laurie

A 301 redirect to a page with a rel canonical to a page with a 301 question...
MOZ registers thousands of DC and Duplicate titles on a Drupal site which has a little strange setup. Example: www.1234.com/en-us 301 redirects to www.realsite.com/en-us which has a rel canonical to www.1234.com which 301 redirects to www.realsite.com. If you're still with me I thank you.

My question is since MOZ registers errors, if indeed the rel canonical isn't recognized due to a 301 redirect?0 -

Google UK rankings don't seem to be accurate.
Just a quick question - I am tracking the keyword 'chemistry teaching resources' as part of a campaign and our site comes up at number 4 on a google.co.uk search for this however in the rankings report section of our account, we are ranked at number 50 for this keyword in the 'google UK' column. Does anybody know why this would be different? It is also different for a number of other keywords in the campaign. Any help you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks
