Has SEOMoz considered making it possible to follow a specific Q & A thread via Twitter and/or Email?
-
I think it would be great if there was a way to follow a particular Q & A thread without having to post a comment. There are so many great topics and discussions in here and sometimes I lose track of some that I'd like to continue following as people post, without having to post in the thread myself.
Have you guys (Mozzers) ever considered adding a "Follow this thread on Twitter" or "Follow this thread by email" function?
Or is there already a way to do this (without posting), that I just haven't found?

There will be an update to Q&A coming soon, and I believe there will be a button that says "email updates", which should help make things more clear.
-
LOL. I scanned so quickly in my reading of this thread that I did think you were an SEOMoz employee.
-
I'm not an SEOmoz employee, but that sounds reasonable to me.

Hi Adam,
I had to dig through the forum to find this answer. May I suggest a future feature that would change the icon from an envelope to something that would actually say "Follow this Question"?
Don't know if that's already in the works or if it's been suggested before, but I'd like to add my vote for it.

Hah! I knew there was one. Just couldn't find it. Thanks Adam (as my father would say "It's a good thing it wasn't a snake!....)

There already is. Below the question there is a little envelope icon you can click to "Subscribe to this Question".

Optimising for a specific location
Hello, I think I know the answer to this but I'm sure there's more to be told. If I optimised a site for a particular city and keyword, let say bespoke kitchens Edinburgh. Do I really need to add the Edinburgh word in if I am mentioning Edinburgh in a different context on other parts of the site? So I would just be using and optimising for bespoke kitchens which is a far easier phrase to fit organically into written text. The Edinburgh (location) word would be mentioned but in different sections of the text, I might even use Glasgow & Fife (other catchment area locations) Would search engines then still rank me for searches for "bespoke Kitchens" searched for by someone from Edinburgh or does it need to read "bespoke kitchens edinburgh"? Thanks for you help.

How current is the data reflected in the SEOmoz toolbar?
Been using the SEOmoz toolbar for three weeks, yet nothing on my site seems to have changed in terms of rankings and metrics. How new or "fresh" is the data that the toolbar uses to come up with PA, mR, mT, DA, DmR, and DmT? How often does it update?

Is it possible to exclude pages from Crawl Diagnostic?
I like the crawl diagnostic but it shows many errors due to a forum that I have. I don't care about the SEO value of this forum and would like to exclude any pages in the /forum/ directory. Is it possible to add exclusions to the crawl diagnostic tool?

Is the SEOMoz Rank Tracker still accurate?
I monitor several keywords on several domains and i have found that rank tracker gives me one result yet when searching via Google myself (on different machines) i get a different result. I've tried several devices on different networks so there is no chance that Google is remembering my searches as such and i ensure that i am always signed out of my account. All devices provide the same results yet Rank Tracker provides a completely different result. It's as though Rank Tracker is a day ahead or something. Can anyone shed any light for me please?

SEOMoz Campaign Tool
I've noticed that when looking at the SEOmoz tool, specifically the On Page analysis tool, it is still looking at an old url. About two months ago I made updates to all of our category page URLs. Previously the old urls were stuffed with keywords, strange characters and were really long. When looking at the on-page tool though it is referencing the old urls for keywords and I'm wondering why? I figure its been long enough to recognize the new urls. Is the paring of a keyword and a url saved and just graded on a weekly basis to produce the report? I had expected to see the new url's by now which are also represented in the sitemap. Around that same time I also added our TellAFriend Page and Review pages to our Robots.txt file as not to be crawled but I still see these pages come up in the errors report. Should this update as well?
