Has anyone used this product? I'm very interested in using it to help automate some of my efforts but want ot be sure they won't submit to bad directories, etc... Your advice is appreciated.

35 USD for SEO services? You are better off going through some of GWMT's best practises and SEO blogs.
If you really want to have a proper audit done (Aaron Wall or others) where you actually get some valuable and relevant feedback, you will pay a few thousand USD, but the information provided is relevant to your business and will actually benefit you in the long run.

Here are my thoughts on this
- Paying people to do SEO on your behalf, without any prior knowledge of who they are or what they do, is like hiring a perfect stranger to clean your house. You might have a clean house when you get back, or you might find that they have "cleaned you out".
- Ask anyone with Penguin troubles how well automated submission works for them now
- Search engine submission? Really? I paid for a service like that in 2006. I know better now.
- I googled the title of this thread and it came up #1 above the site you're referencing. That should say something about that site...

Local SEO: Citation Consistency
My company manages local SEO campaigns for local-service SMBs (e.g. plumbers, dentists). One of the things we do is claim and manage directory listings. To provide trackable results, we apply tracking phone numbers to the directory listings, but those phone numbers don't match the phone number listed on the client's site. So we have a problem from a citation consistency standpoint. On the one hand, we'd like everything to be consistent -- business name, address and phone number -- to achieve citation consistency. On the other hand, we want to prove the value of what we're doing by showing the client data from tracked phone calls. Can we provide best-practice Local SEO and Maps Optimization - and achieve citation consistency - even if we're introducing inconsistency by using tracking numbers?

Backllinks to our site but via redirect (still SEO helpful?)
Hi, A large website may link to us but via their internal redirect mechanism. So it would be somthing like this: [If you select the link, it eventually goes to our site but not from the original page. These links would be placed on lots of pages, but since they would all "pass through" the "redirect" page, it seems not as beneficial from an SEO perspective. Is this reasoning correct? Would google still follow the link and see where it ends up, even though it is via multiple pages? Ideally I'd prefer direct link but how much better is it than the redirect as listed above?](/redirect/rd?site=www.oursite.com/page&trackingparam=111111)

What are the benefits of SEO?
If a client asks "why should I spend time and money on SEO?", how would you answer? Is "to be found in search engines" the answer? If so, wouldn't it be more cost effective to use PPC instead of SEO? Is link building a waste of time and money? Is it better to just concentrate on quality content?

An SEO companies position
One worrying thought following a meeting with a friend in the Poker industry was when he told me he heard some rival companies tried to spam other sites with paid listings a few years ago ? Does this happen all the time ? Also could it happen in other industries ? I was worried when hearing this news and then thought about an SEO companies position in all of this. Could an SEO company be falsely blamed for this sort of behaviour ? Is it is better to cover these things in contracts with customers.
