Does crawling help in optimisation.?

the website is as it was last week. no optimisation from my side for 10 days now. i was ranked 5 with my keyword not much competition there.
however 2 days ago i registrred at seomoz and created a campaign for my website with my keywords that were ranked 5 in search. today i see that my rank has gone up to 2.
i have nt done any optimisation neither have ii created any backlinks. so how and why did i climb up?
i just created a campaign and let seomoz crawl my website for 2days. am i to assume seomoz crawl optimises website?
if that is the case then can i create a campaign crawl pages, climb up in searches, delete the campaign after a week, create it again crawl pages and climb up and so on ?
please advise?

There is nothing to do with SEOMOZ campaign. This is may be because of recent tweaks in search results by Google.

I don't think the two have anything to do with each other. If there's not much - or any - competition for keywords, than ranking without trying is't unusual. And sometimes you think you don't optimize but do optimize, just not as best as you could. If you have a page, and there's content on it, and Google indexes it, it's going to associate it with keywords of some sort. I have pages that rank for things we never intentionally optimized for, either.

Crawl test from tools
Hi, I notice that the crawl test which is from the Research Tools doesn't really get a new crawl even though there is 2 crawl per day. It will only provide the data which was acquire from the crawl diagnostics in my pro account. There is no point for me to get the data which I get from my crawl diagnostic isn't it? Even seomoz provided with more than 2 crawl per day also useless in this case. This whole thing doesn't make sense as the crawl diagnostics will only perform a full crawl test once every week. but even the crawl test also not helping any thing out for me.

Seomoz crawling filtered pages
Hi, I just checked an seo campaign we started last week, so I opened seomoz to see the crawl diagnostics. Lot's of duplicate content & duplicate titles showing up, but that's because Rogerbot is crawling all of the filtered pages as well. How do I exclude these pages from being crawled? /product/brand-x/3969?order=brand&sortorder=ASC

Crawl Test produced only 1 page
Hi, I recently submitted a crawl for www.cirrato.com using SEOMoz Crawl Test Tool. I have a lot of pages, but the crawl result shows only 1 page, which is the front page and nothing else... Does anyone know what this could mean or what the problem is?

Sub-domain not crawled
One of our sites was recently re-designed. The home page is a landing page (www.labadieauto.com) and I moved the blog to this domain (labadieauto.com/blog/) and put a link is the bottom left of the home page. Since the change the SEOMOZ campaign overview is showing only 1 page crawled. This is not setup as a sub-domain so why isn't it showing in the crawl? Help!

Crawl slow again
Once again the weekly crawl on my site is very slow. I have around 441 pages in the crawl and this has been running for over 12 hours. This last happened two weeks ago (ran for over 48 hours). Last week's crawl was much quicker (not sure exactly how long but guessing an hour or so). Is this a known issue and is there anything that can be done to unblock it? Weekends are the best time for me to assess and respond to changes I have made to my site so having this (small) crawl take most of the weekend is really quite problematic. Thanks. Mark

On page optimisation tool issues
When viewing my campaign and looking at the on page optimisation tool, I have a few issues. I seems to only shows the keywords I want rankings for and how optimised my homepage is for those keywords. Is there any way I can get it to analyse permanently specifc keywords for specific pages because my homepage isnt optimised for some keywords which are on my list, which I have optimised other pages for, and because its looking at my homepage its getting a really low grade, and looks really bad and frustrates me because I cant work this out. Any help greatly appreciated.

SEOMoz only crawling 5 pages of my website
Hello, I've added a new website to my SEOmoz campaign tool. It only crawls 5 pages of the site. I know the site has way more pages then this and also has a blog. Google shows at least 1000 results indexed. Am I doing something wrong? Could it be that the site is preventing a proper crawl? Thanks Bill

Crawl Issues
My website - qtmoving.com - has 26 articles and when the SEOmoz did a crawl it only found 13 articles. Can someone please give me some insight as to why not all pages are being crawled.
