Link pipeline software
-
Has anyone used the link building software - www.linkpipeline.com ? Any feedback would be much appreciated

As someone else here says, this can do more harm than good.
Indexing links is sometimes necessary but there are other methods. This software builds links to your links. May be more than you generally need and leaves a foot print.

Keri,
OMG!! That advice is awful. I feel bad for the new people here and apologize for the bluntness.
Some of the best links are from non profits, EDUs and other large sites that dont necessarily index well.
Non profits and EDUs typically dont pay much attention to SEO but their links are authoratitive. Non profits typically dont have site maps and each department is their own fiefdom. Usually no cross linking between them and each department usually has their own surface links (primary/navigational links).
Additionally, Google is extremely good about indexing news sites as soon as they publish and checking for changes for a day or two but generally wont check again.

Thank you for your feedback!

I personally prefer to have links to my site on pages that Google already knows about, not pages where I need to pay someone to create a ton of automated links so those links get noticed.
There are forums that may speak highly of this software, but SEOmoz isn't going to be one of those forums, it's just not in our philosophy. For more information on the viewpoint of many of the people around here, check out the beginner's guide to SEO and the chapter on building links at http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/growing-popularity-and-links

Automated link building? I think you'll find the majority here would advise against any such software, that kind of thing can do more harm than good.

Are links from charities really better than 'normal' links.
Hi Guys. Just wondering about this idea that links from Charities are particularly good. I've heard people say that links from .org sites are particularly strong. But anyone can get a .org domain, it's just that charities tend to use them more often. Right? I just don't get the logic. Can anyone give more detail about this? Is it a myth? Is there quality info on this topic I can check out? We're working with several charities at the moment, and they all seem happy to blog and link to us...so I just wanted to know a little more. Isaac.

How valid are these types of links?
Hi Mozzers, I am wondering how valid are those links <a href="http: www.domainlinking.com="" wp-content="" themes="" websitename="" directory-click-thru.php?id="51956&thru=www.domainlinked.com"">ANCHOR . Not sure what are those? are these for tracking purposes?</a href="http:> This link acts as a click though and displays the domain linked but I am not sure if these links passes as much juice as a link following this format <a href="http: www.domainlinked.com"="">ANCHOR ? Are these should be worth pursuing or am I wasting my time with those?</a href="http:> Thanks for letting me know!

Link building with PDFs
I created a manual for a popular piece of equipment and placed it, as a PDF-file, on my website. The PDF contains a clickable link to the root domain of my website. Other websites have downloaded the PDF and put it on their own website, hosting it themselves. Since Google indexes PDFs, does the link in the PDF count as a regular 'link' from an external website, and does it have comparable value? Can't find any thoughts or studies about this anywhere.

Promoting A Guide for links
Hi everyone, I'm formulating a content idea to provide the Internet's most comprehensive guide for our related field and wanted to know how people would promote a guide if they were producing one. Really the topic of choice doesn't need to be mentioned, so I'll leave that out so answers are open and can help a range of people attempting to do a similar thing. One of the goals is to of course produce more unique and useful content for our site (helping our ranking), which will help people out who have an interest or question related to our topic, but once the content is on the site, how would you go about getting links towards to guide? Would you contact websites that have written about similar content in the past and ask if they would add a link to the guide in their already existing content? Or would you ask them to bear it in mind for reference purposes in future content? Would you visit guest posting? Obviously one of the goals of the content is for links, and that will be the driver behind whether or not the content is produced. I firstly need to show that there are potential links we can gain almost immediately after the content is ready. From there, I'm hoping the content will promote itself, with people referencing the content on forums and articles when questions are raised. However, for the content to get in front of the influencers (those who would answers the questions on forums or write articles about the subject) the content needs to be visible - i.e rank or be mentioned from a highly visible source. Any ideas or comments from people who have promoted guides successfully before will be extremely welcome. Note: This is more the promoting of content and not really related to the research to find out which content to produce. Thanks.

Link or Ad
I recently requested a link back from a site that is ranking 2nd for a term that i'm working on and they said they would gladly give me the link and remove my competitors but would also like me to have an ad on the same page for an annual fee that i could link to a landing page. I know that paying for links is no good and google can penalize you. so do i pay them and do a no follow to the landing page from the ad and call it a day? and how does google differentiate an ad from a link?

Penguin Recover: Remove links vs Burry Links
The best is to do both. However with those with limited resources, would building more links with branded and naked URL anchor links be a better solution than painstakingly asking every webmaster to remove links.

Buying links
I have 2 websites to pay monthly to gain links from, number 1 is on the homepage of a directory, it has a PA of 90 and DA of 88.
Link Building | | myloseo
the link will be on the right hand side along with 55 other featured sites.
these links are there throughout the whole site. number 2 is from a website with 20 max sponsored links on a page and will be one of the sub pages on the site with a PA of 74. How valuable if any would these links be? My current pa on the site i wish to send the links to is 26 Can i expect my PA to go up by much? Also i currently have 317 links from 7 root domains on my site will this effect the rank of the paid links? Thanks in advance0
