How advanced is Google synonym recognition?
-
Hi all.
I am currently helping a company that offers training courses and was wandering if Google would recognize 'Training' as a synonym of 'Course' as effectively they both mean the same thing but seemed to be compounded?
So instead in my keywords/title etc.having.
Business Training Course
I could get away with only
Business Training OR Business Course.
In most cases the keyword difficulty for training is a 5% harder than course but as this is for a professional company and not a standard academic I felt training seemed more appropriate.

'training' is definitely considered to be a synonym of 'course' (search for "~training") - just a matter of to what degree.
Run some queries in google and see how different they are. If you get the same results, they are exact synonyms. If the listings change, see how many of the same domains/pages are the same. That should give you a good idea whether they are considered close synonyms or not.

New Rules Keywords of Google Panda
Hello Everyone,.. I want to ask regarding my confusion of Keywords. How does search engine see the keywords? and find the website that is matched with the keywords. So this is what I mean: When I type keywords "luxury dog clothes" at google, then the website which is showed up, is nothing using keyword of "luxury dog clothes". But then appeared websites which in bold words are "designer dog clothes", "dog clothes", "designer dog" . Can anyone please help me to explain why Google shows the website which is not identical matched keywords "luxury dog clothes" that I am looking for? I read at the beginer guide SEO, that the good keywords must be placed at the front of the title then in the body description, placed no more than 2 times. But in fact, for the example above, there is nothing words of "luxury dog clothes" placed at the title and in the body description. This makes me very confuse how to determine the right keyword for mine, especially the long tail keywords. Thank you everyone. Hopefully you all can help me to explain as I am a newbie at SEO.

Does Google consider very similar keyphrases the same?
One of my top keyphrases is manchester magician and using Google Adwords Keyword Tool this produces exactly the same number of views as _magician manchester _and again the exact same for magician in manchester. So I assumed from this that Google views them the same. But looking at the SEOMoz On-Page tool, this doesn't appear to be the case as my grade is different for each keyphrase. So, I guess my question is, if this is the case and they are considered different, how would I find out which one really is the most searched for so I can optimize accordingly. Many thanks, Iain.

Google Adwords - trying to understand the figures...
Whilst researching keywords I often find the global monthly search on google adwords tool differs, yet the local (UK) is the same (or vice versa) Example: ready mix concrete - global 90,500 & local 18,100 ready mixed concrete - global 60,500 & local 18,100 or forklift truck hire - global 18,100 & local 4,400

forklift truck rental - global 22,200 & local 4,400 I'm making an assumption that for my local country, the phrases ready mix" and "ready mixed" are being treated the same, as are "hire" and "rental" but globally they are not. Am I correct? Of course, they could be two completely separate terms according to Google but coincidentally, have the same search volume. However, I find this happens quite regularly. Anybody shed any light?0 -

Does google exact match domain name bonus work if the keywords are reversed?
For example, we all know that there is a ranking boost to having a domain name: http://bluewidgets.com when someone searches for "blue widgets". But would the domain name http://widgetsblue.com also get a bonus in the serp for "blue widgets" ?

Google Analytics - Long keywords
Hi All, Question for you Google Analytics pros. In the keywords section of my account I see the various words that have been used to find my site. The top entry shows a big long line of text from my site and I wondered why this appears on the keywords. e.g Lets say I had "Today I went to the shops and bought a football" In the keywords I would normally expect to see 'football', 'shops' etc but instead I am actually seeing things like " went to the shops and bought a football". What causing this? Thanks all
