Why articles submitted to squidoo not indexed by google
-
Hi,
I have written a few articles and uploaded to squidoo/hubpage last month and they have been accepted and I can see the links in the articles. But they dont appear in the latest link report from Google Webmaster Tools.
Is it because it's delay or Google simply wont treat them as valid links?
Thanks

Articles should reside on your own blog / site or in specialist sites. For example, it's perfectly acceptable to write an article and become a contributing author on SEOmoz, but if you start adding links to your site, expect to get a slap from Mr RandFish
Best way to get your articles out is to share them via Google+, LinkedIn Groups, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Collaborate with others, ask their views and if they would like to contribute to the article.
No quick wins any more I'm afraid.

I think I get your point which I did not realise before Thanks
so this is what I understand:
[good content] + [wrong site/wrong place] = bad/low value link => not good seo effort.
to be honestly the important reason I wrote the article is to get someone to read it then possibily they would share it with others and have the readers to realise our expertise. and hoping them click thru to our site. Getting back link came second...
If I post the article to my own blog rather than squidoo does it make any different? At the beginning I thought squidoo can make bigger effect

But don't forget, the reason you wrote the article is to get links back from it, not to benefit people of squidoo, and because of where it's posted, Google will realise this too.
An article that would be beneficial should be posted on websites related to that industry, not to sites like squidoo & hubpages (which have both had their day).
Spend a little time researching sites that are related to this topic and you will get real benefit then.
Can't remember the last time I saw a squidoo page appear anywhere for a search term.

So articles sites wont work in general is that right? And Am I right in thinking that by seeing it's not appearing in report of Google webmaster tool?
On the other hand How do they decide if an article 'deserve a place on a website.' Lots of share/likes?If that's the case should I wait until many people share/like the article before it apear in the report of Google webmaster tool? At that point would I be comfortable to say they become good links?
I believe The article I wrote is useful to the user on that topic/area though.
Thanks for your answer

Hi Stephen,
Matt cutts recently said they don't want to see links in articles on article marketing sites. They see these as thin attempts to try and get links back to a website.
The only links they want, outside of +1's and social shares, are those that deserve a place on a website.
Article marketing is pretty much dead in the water these days, the same with footer / widget / blogroll links.
Here is a blog post and video from Matt Cutts on the subject.

Yandex vs. Google
I own an e-commerce website and my primary keyword ranks on page one of Yandex, but page 12 of Google. I have had some (likely less than optimal) links built to my website over the years. Considering Yandex doesn't take links into account, which is more likely? a. My high ranking on Yandex is indicative of where I COULD be ranking on Google if the unnatural links weren't being held against me. b. My page 12 ranking on Google is indicative that because links are still of value in Google, all of the sites above me have more and/or better quality of them. For example, A LOT more big name sites rank highly in Google as opposed to Yandex... presumably because they have a ton of good links that I (and other smaller sites) can't naturally get. Thoughts?

Google Disavow Tool: which kind of links do harm and which do not harm my site?
Recently a guy asked at GoogleWebmasterHelp: Should I be worried if a couple of sites that I don't want to be associated with are linking to me? In this case there have been 2 porn sites linking to his site... that clear.

But my question is if for example sites like e.g. : http://www.linguee.de Linguee is one of the best dictionary sites where you can search for phrases and receive common translation examples which are very helpful. Liguee set some links to my site because they take texts usually from multilingual sites to gather examples.
A dictionary site does not have nothing to do with my business but also I don't consider that this might my harm my site? What do you think?0 -
Google Reconsideration Response Time
Hi all, 3 of my websites have received a massive hit from Penguin/Panda due to exact phrase links. I have had all the links changed so that they are completely different, and submitted a reconsideration request to Google. Would anyone be able to tell me roughly how long it takes to get a response from a Google reconsideration request? Thanks, Anthony

Last Linkscape index update
I noticed that under my link analysis that it said: "Last Linkscape index update: 08/14/2012." I would like to try to get a full understanding of what this means? Is this stating that my competitive Link Analysis and link metrics have not been updated since August?! Any help and tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Google Merchant Center
Does anyone have experience with outcomes on listing your products under grouped search results as opposed to separated out. It seems that this can be easily accomplished by using a SKU that is different then others in the listing but I wonder if one ranks better over the other (it appears that grouped searched rank a bit higher). It seems that it would be best to take into consideration the audience you are targeting and what their habits are, i.e. would they be more likely to click on the group searches and look for products that way or do they want to find a reputable brand and would more likely click on that. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated as I am not really finding any information on this subject.

Multiple submissions to article directories
Hello, I would like to ask if I can submit the same article to multiple article directories. I have read that while only the first published article will gain credit and show on search engines, but the all the links generated from the publishing the article at different sites will still tally up and count as separate backlinks to my website. Is this true, or is 1 or a few links going to be counted from the 1 article?
