Why is the Average Position in the Queries view of Google Analytics SEO report so different on each query from the position shown by SEOmoz?

The position provided by SEOmoz is through a query in a unpersonalized search + using a specific tld.(.com/ca/uk)

What Google provide in the SEO reports in GA is an average of one query or multiple queries also and based on users which they may have personalized results on or off ( and this might affect your rankings )

hence the difference.

Loss of Google AdWords API

Since August, we've had intermittent access to the Google Adwords API. Like others in this space, they've let us know that our access has been revoked. We've been working to restore this access, but unfortunately, we have not been able to do so. In the meantime we are working hard to find a suitable replacement that is both stable and a good fit for our customers’ needs. We wanted to let our PRO members know, first to apologize, and second to explain how this has impacted your PRO access. We understand how important it is to have all your keyword data in one place, and we're sorry for any disruptions you've experienced from not having this data source in our app.We do want to clarify that this change does not affect your data from Google Analytics. The products affected by this change are our **Keyword Analysis tool and the keyword details and **keyword analysis pages within our web app. We removed this keyword query volume data within PRO a little earlier this year. You can still generate reports, but the metrics previously pulled from the Google Adwords data source is no longer there.The good news is, we don't actually use the Google AdWords data in our calculation of keyword difficulty, so these reports are still 100% accurate—they're just missing the information we usually pull from the API, which you can find on the Google AdWords Keyword Tool here. We're so sorry about this, and understand how frustrating the loss of this data is. We're hoping to have an alternative data source soon, and we will keep you posted as we make progress. Google Algorithm Update July 30, 2012 - Anyone else notice a major drop in keyword rankings

From July 30th to the 31st many of my keyword rankings in Google plumited 30 spots or more. Has anyone else notice this on their site? Does anyone have any idea for the presumed penalty? I can PM my site information if needed for further assistance. As always thank you for the assistance, and any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

Getting relevant keywords from URL with Google KW Tool.

Hi, When I first start researching a site, I like to see what Google "thinks" it is relevant to. I use the Google KW Tool and enter the website URL only. I sort the results by relevance. I can then show the prospective client what Google thinks his site is optimized for and use that info to show him what opportunities exist to rank for terms more relevant to his business. I show him keyword, volume and I also get current SERP rank for his site. For larger sites, I do this for the top pages based Domain Authority. I want to automate this process using excel and APIs but Google refused my API token request. I told them I wanted to use the "Google AdWords API Extension for Excel" from http://seogadget.co.uk/google-adwords-plugin-excel. The Google API token team replied: Please note, after reviewing your application in detail, we are sorry to let you know that we won't be able to approve your token. We understand that you are planning to use the AdWords API mainly for Targeting Idea Service (TIS) and Traffic Estimation Service (TES) such as 'keyword research'. Please note that as per the Required Minimum Functionality (RMF) outlined in the API Terms & Conditions, using the AdWords API exclusively for TIS and TES type of services is not allowed. Q1: What does the KW Tool relevancy data mean, anyway? Q2: is there another way to get it or is there another way to do this? Q3: Is there a better approach I should take with the Google API team? Q4: Are there other APIs and Excel plugins that can do this, including the SEOMoz APIs? Thanks,

SEOmoz v's Google Webmaster Keyword Ranking

Hi, how accurate is SEOmoz keyword ranking v's Google Webmaster? Some Keywords in SEOmoz say I'm in position 3 in Ireland for some Keywords and in Google Webmaster they are figures like 16. I understand in Google Webmaster that the keyword position is an Average What should I be going by and what is the credibility of both ranking estimators?

Is anyone noticing a difference between Google position when you view ten and when you view a hundred results per page?

We have noticed a gap as large as 30 places when using UK Google. Interested in whether other people are seeing this and if anyone can offer an explaination. Thanks Turkey
