Best site/tool to get exact rank of a site
-
Is there a site/tool that will give me the exact google rank of a site for a specific keyword?
-
There is no tool that can give "the exact google rank of a site" because there is no longer any such thing as an exact rank anymore, unfortunately.
As a result of all the personalisation that is now built into search results, it is unlikely any 2 users will see the exact same ranking results for any query. Things like location, personal search history etc are used to customise the ranking of results that each user sees.
The closest you can get to what you're asking for is to use Google Webmaster Tools. There you can find the average ranking for a keyword that's driving traffic to your site. Keep in mind that some will see your pages much higher and some much lower, but all the personalisations involved will be taken into account to produce the average. You can also see a rough number of impressions for the search terms and also whether the average rank has gone up or down (and by how many positions) compared to last month.
Regular ranking tools basically try to eliminate all the personalization from their measurements, but since real users don't search that way, the results they give aren't the same as an real user would see. They are useful for trending analysis, but shouldn't be mistaken as repeatable for human users.

I'm a noob. Keywords for new ecommerce site. Should I go for the "big boys" or start small?
Hey guys, My ecommerce site sells fair trade jewelry, bags, shoes from developing countries. I used the Keyword difficulty tool and came up with a list of about 50 keywords. Should I focus on the 29%-50% difficulty keywords or go for the 50%-75%? Or a mix of both? Thanks so much, Adam My list is attached in a .jpeg VmpJ7iQ

Understanding the Rankings report: Visits - what timeframe?
I just setup a new site in MOZ, rankings have run on 200+ keywords for two weeks. The report shows 14 visits for the keyword "google backup". Is that 14 visits since the last crawl or 14 visits all time since I have been tracking that keyword within Moz? Thanks!

Finding/Building Content Strategy
I'm looking for two things: 1. Some top notch articles on building out a content strategy for a blog (coupon blog is more relevant). 2. Tools that can help to determine target keywords to focus on (Most I've seen are where the keywords start with me, are their any that will help to predict which keywords are relevant for our blog & that would be great to target). Any feedback/discussion on either is greatly appreciated!

Best practice for targeting 'unnatural' location based keyword phrases
When optimising for a local based service, lets say a painter in texas, you will have various keyword phrases which are relevant e.g Texas painter Painter in Texas Painter Texas I have found that often the phrase which has the most searches is: [Service] [Location] = ('Painter Texas' in this example) But unlike the other phrases this is very hard to work into a natural sounding sentence or heading. Is the best practice to try and target the unnatural sounding phrase anyway due to the higher search volume, or target the next one down to stay natural sounding in your copy? thanks d

Big difference in rank on google.com and google.no
Hi Our E-com website went from 8th to 1st spot yesterday for our most important keyword (barneklær = childrens clothing) on google.no weirdly enough we arent ranking on first page at all on google.com . I find this very strange especially since the keyword itself is so country specific - mainly because of the norwegian specific letter - æ. The results are not due to personalization i ve check it with the keyword difficulty tool here on seomoz. The sites ranking higher then me on google.com are sites i am ranking higher then on google.no. Anyone got a good explanation ? The changes for my keyword in ranking i saw yesterday was alot more then i am used to see - almost like google made some sort of script change. we went from 8th to 1st. 1st dropped to 4th, 5ht went to 2nd etc - i am not used to seeing this big changes. Anyone got a clue to either of these 2 questions ?

How to interpret the keyword tool?
I've played with the keyword tool a bit. Some keywords have 43% difficulty and some have 55%. What do these difficulty levels mean? I don't really know how to go about it.
