Why does Seomoz report other values then Google Webmaster?
-
Dear Seomoz Community
I check my Seomoz ranking from time to and today I saw a big discrepancy between the reported domains linking to my site in the Site Explorer and Google Webmaster tools.
Seomoz reports 19 linking domains
Google shows 150 domains linking to my site.Is there an explanation for this discrepancy?
Thank for helping me out

Hi Menelik,
The explanation is that we are separate from Google, and have our own servers and crawlers. Our server farm isn't nearly as big as Google's, and doesn't crawl as fast. Open Site Explorer updates about once a month, and won't show you all of the links you see in GWT. However, we do add more information than you will see in Google with regards to metrics, and you can see link profiles of other sites that you do not own and have not verified in GWT.
Hope this helps!

Also, Open Site Explorer updates every 60 days.. (I read that somewhere...)

Its impractical to think that data sets from 2 places will be the same in fact if you took the dat that bing had vs google its going to be different what you have to do is choose one tool to set a baseline and then watch the improvements

I can't officially answer this but I believe it's due to Google's reach of tracking links to be much more vast than SEOMoz's current capacity, despite itself doing a very good job.
If the difference is as big as that I'd be willing to bet that the majority of your links are coming from unseen blogs that Google has found and SEOMoz have not.

Seomoz crawler problems
I have had Seomoz for about a month. It has crawled about 1000 pages. I have about 10,000 pages total for the site. Why are these others being a problem? I have contacted help but the guy isn't any help, we have just been going back and forth for the last two weeks. Any suggestions?

Edit SEOmoz Profile Bug
Hi,
Moz Pro | | rayvensoft
I am trying to complete my SEOmoz profile, but there seems to be a bug. I am able to fill out everything except the 'favorite topics'. It lets me go in and fill it out, but when I click the update button to save it it does not save, and still shows up as missing in bar at the top. I have tried it in Mozilla, IE and Chrome, and it still does not work. Am I missing something? Thanks.0 -
SEO Moz ranking reports
I am confused. The SEO Moz ranking reports state that my site show show up in a specific position in SERP for a specific keyword yet when I google the keyword the ranking is different. Are these ranking reports merely indicative or are they supposed to be accurate?

Duplicate page error from SEOmoz
SEOmoz's Crawl Diagnostics is complaining about a duplicate page error. I'm trying to use a rel=canonical but maybe I'm not doing it right. This page is the original, definitive version of the content: https://www.borntosell.com/covered-call-newsletter/sent-2011-10-01 This page is an alias that points to it (each month the alias is changed to point to the then current issue): https://www.borntosell.com/covered-call-newsletter/latest-issue The alias page above contains this tag (which is also updated each month when a new issue comes out) in the section: Is that not correct? Is the https (vs http) messing something up? Thanks!

New To SEOMOZ, 2 Questions...
Hi, 1. I got signed up with SEOMOZ yesterday and would like to know about the competitive analysis tool. I saw in a demo video of SEOMOZ that there was an aspect of Social links (Facebook etc) included in the analysis, I can't see this in my analysis however. 2. Is it possible to change websites over time? Let say in a few months I want to work on a new website, can I remove one of my 5 and add a new one? Thanks! James
