Find where the not selected pages are from

Hi all
Can anyone suggest how I can find where gtoogle is finding approx. 1000 pages not to select?
In round numbers I have 110 pages on the site
site: searech shows all pages
index status shows 110 slected and 1000 not selected.
For the life of me I cannot fingure where these pages are coming from. I have set my prefered domain to www., setup 301 's to www. as per below
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^growingyourownveg.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ "http://www.growingyourownveg.com/$1" [R=301,L]site is
any suggestions much appreciated

Hi Simon,
Yes, Blog pages should exists in sitemap. I think you are using wordpress platform.
Just install "xml sitemap" plugin which automatically get updated whenever you make any post in your blog.

Thank you for your reply, the blog should start with "www" so I will look at that. And the blog pages are not in the sitemap as I was told previously I only need to put in the blog home page.
Do I need to add the blog pages to teh sitemap as well?

Hi Simon,
May I know from where you get "approx. 1000 pages not to select", from Google GWT ? Your site URLs are opening with "www" version but blog URLs have non-www version.
Example:
Site URL:: http://www.growingyourownveg.com/
Blog URL:http://growingyourownveg.com/blog/
I have also your sitemap and I didn't find blog URLs in it ? Are you using any plugin for it ?

Pages are Indexed but not Cached by Google. Why?

SEO of Social Media Pages
I have noticed something odd about how Google ranks social media pages, and was hoping someone would have a good explanation. When I search for a particular name in Google, the first two results are Twitter pages of two people who share the same name. #1 is an older account with more Tweets, but it has fewer followers, no external backlinks, and the URL is unrelated to the name #2 is a newer account, but it has more followers, a few external backlinks, and the name itself is in the URL. It has fewer overall Tweets, but has Tweeted more frequently over the past several months. #2 is also happens to be in the same City as I am. Given my understanding of Google's ranking factors, I would not have expected #1 to outrank #2. In fact, I would not have expected #1 to even be on the first page. What could be causing #1 to rank so highly? Does it make sense that the age of the account or the number of Tweets would affect SEO at all? Really, I am just trying to understand what are the main factors that determine the ranking of social media profile pages. Thanks

hi, i have used screaming frog seo and it has brought up a link to another site we run but this is a strange link the link is http://www.in2town.co.uk/www.clairehegarty.co.uk/virtual-gastric-band-with-hypnotherapy i have gone through the site on the home page as this is where it is and i cannot find, so i was just wondering if there was a tool that i can use to pin point where it is. any help would be great

Backlinks to home page vs internal page
Hello, What is the point of getting a large amount of backlinks to internal pages of an ecommerce site? Although it would be great to make your articles (for example) strong, isn't it more important to build up the strength of the home page. All of My SEO has had a long term goal of strengthening the home page, with just enough backlinks to internal pages to have balance, which is happening naturally. The home page of our main site is what comes up on tons of our keyword searches since it is so strong. Please let me know why so much effort is put into getting backlinks to internal pages. Backlinks to unique login pages
Hi There, This has turned out to be slightly long winded! Congrats to anyone who manages to follow what I am on about and cheers to anyone that can help! The company I work for has several hundred backlinks from customer sites (authority sites) that link to their unique login pages (e.g. customer.oursitesname.com/unique-identifier). From these pages they can access our learning platform. For maximum SEO benefits we have been trying to think of a way to get these customers to link to our start page. This is what we have come up with. Customers would link to us using a URL with this format www.oursitesname.com/#customer-unique-identifier. (I have read somewhere that Google “ignores” everything after a #). This URL would then cause a Jscript pop-up or drop-down to open. The pop-up or drop-down would be hidden for the normal user and only be visible for users that visit over the unique URL. The pop-up or drop-down would be unique for each customer (mainly for branding purposes). The pop-up or drop-down would contain signup/login fields. So now to my question, will this get us in trouble with Google? Is there a better solution than this? Are we over thinking it and should we just do something like this: www.oursitesname.com/customer-login/unique -identifier and set www.oursitesname.com/customer-login/ as the canonical? Does the Google bot get suspicious of hundreds of canonical tags pointing back to the one URL? Thanks in advance! Henry
