Google SEO - Where have I disappeared to?
-
Okay, so first off Google, I hate you.
Before I signed up for SEOMoz, my website was hitting page 9 and page 10 for some ultra difficult keywords. After spending a month using Hubspot and SEOMoz, I finally made it on to page 2 of google, for said 'impossible to rank high' keywords, which I was super happy with.
But last week, I login to find that I have disappeared off the top 100 pages of Google for about 100 of my top keywords!!!!
What the hell did I do wrong? I tried to please Google, but my website is still indexed, but just not ranked at all for any of my top keywords.
The last thing I did before I disappeared overnight was add "follow me" buttons to all my pages and "share this" buttons to all my blogs. Could this be the problem?
My website and main keyword is Process Server
Is there anyone who could help push me in the right direction? I have no idea what I did wrong.

There you go, completely re-uploaded again now. Any advice at all would be a great help.

Sorry, still uploading all my CSS files.
As for the Google issue, I thought the same thing when it happened last week, but a week on, and my website can't be found on even the loosest of keywords.
i.e.: last week, type in Private Investigator (which is a tremendously difficult keyword to rank for (23,000 views per month)), and I would have been in the top two or three pages, now you search, and I am nowhere to be found.
So then, last week, do a search for Private Investigator Essex, and I was number 1, as there is only about 600 views a month for this keyword. But now, I'm not in the top 50 pages!! And that's a ridiculously easy keyword to rank number 1 on. In fact, I've been rank number 1 on that for about 5 years!!!

still a problem with css & image - check the blog

it is only showing HTML for me mate!
no images, no css
I do feel for you.
I have had Google do similar to me before, but it usually changes back within a day.Hope you sort it

The website is back online now.

Ah, no, that's because I decided to delete my entire website and reupload all the content. Probably a stupid time to do that considering I had just asked out a question, but I just had a sudden urge to do a 'clean install'!!
It's re-uploading as I type.
If you fancy a look, it'll be up again in about 10 minutes, hopefully....
I am completely stuck with ideas, and clean install was the best idea I could come up with incase there were any stray pieces of code laying around on my server annoying the google bots.

you might want to check your apache config. currently the above link is showing a directory list. I think you are missing index.html

How to not track mobile redirects in Google Analytics
If a user is on a mobile device and comes to our home page, http://www.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/ they are redirected to http://m.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/. We want a way to remove all the redirects from our Google analytics reports. More specifically we do not want to include the the page view of http://www.darden.virginia.edu/web/Home/ in our page view count when the user is on a mobile device. How do we do that?

Wordpress + Google Analytics = Pulling My Hair Out
Hey Mozzers, Quick question for you- I have analytics set-up for a personal site I run and I know, verifiably it's receiving traffic, however, whenever I access my Google Analytics dashboard, it says I've had zero visits. Interestingly, today I had a colleague check the site from a foreign country and I could see the page views (within 15 minutes), however, I could not get any information about the site viewer. I have verified that the Analytics profile is 'receiving data' (which it is) and my Google Webmaster Tools is not reporting any issues? Finally, I went ahead and updated my profile so that it is pulling from 'www.mydomain.com' instead of 'mydomain.com', I don't know if that'll make any difference, but likewise, I didn't want to go and create the 'little kid in the elevator' analogy, where I'm just pressing a bunch of buttons just because they're there. So the only changes I've made thus far were deactivating Yoast's SEO plug-in and manually placing the GA code in the header and updating the 'Website's URL' in the profile settings tab of GA from 'mydomain.com' to 'www.mydomain.com'. With that, I am stumped and praying another one of the esteemed Mozzers out there may be able to help me resolve this. Any thoughts?

Hi all , I do not have the skill and time to look into Google Analytics to derive actionable conclusion and inferences. I would like to outsource this activity , just like I outsource link building. But not sure how... Any guidance ?

Do Google penalise you for having too many 404's?
Hi There I have been doing some work reducing the number of 404's displayed in the Crawl Errors found in Googles Webmaster Tools. We had a lot of products that were no longer available so have now been removed to reduce the number of 404s that had been found. However, there are a number of URLs that have been crawled that do not exist on our website and have been flagged in the list of Crawl Errors. I want to know if Google will penalise us for this, perhaps affecting our quality score or if they can see that this is something out of our control. This site for example: http://sibd.com/com_offers_unique_gifts.html has generated a lot of truncated URLs on its site that link to pages that don't exist on our site: http://www.arenaflowers.com/flowers/pri… That is the exact link that it is trying to locate. Here is the report for that particular link. As you can see the content has been scraped by other sites which has spread the problem further. Pages that link to http://www.arenaflowers.com/flowers/pri.. URL Discovery Date

Sep 9, 2011 I have spotted a lot of these and currently have around 3.3K 404s in total, a majority are from sites we don't control. Is there an acceptable number of 404s a site should aim for and is the above something we should address or are Google smart enough to work out that we can't fix this ourselves? Thanks! Sam.0 -
