Using a .de domain for non-german website. Sane?
-
Hi there guys(and girls),
I bought a beautiful and clever .de domain, however I plan to use it for a brazillian website.
Since GWT does not allow me to change the target location, and I am stuck with Germany on Google's eyes, I would like to know how bad would it be to stick with the .de domain?
My content won't be international. It will focus only in portuguese(Brazil) content.
Is there a way to make it work? I would really like to stick with this domain, but Google's organic traffic cannot be overlooked...
Thanks in advance for all input I can get.
Cheers

For the domain, google will not penalize you at all. You might get a lot of value for the keyword in the domain. Just dont get penalities for bad linking between your websites etc.

Thank you so much for your responses.
The keyword is quite competitive, but all my links will end up coming from .br sites.
My only concern is really how much will Google penalize me for going with a .de domain on a .br territory, considering backlinks, SEO strategies and hosting location would be the same for both the .de and .br domains.
The URL will be 100% readable with the .de domain since in portuguese "DE" means "OF", thus making it entirely readable and optimized.
I am really against the wall: Go for the cool domain and risk getting pounded by Google in ranking, or go for not-so-cool domain and loose a quite interesting advantage, but garantee Google's "approval".

You could get a lower CTR rate. and automatically google might lower you down in the results.
There are no more bad reasons not to use it. It should rank same like .org or any other. You just have to make nice brazillian meta tags and visitors might click on your serp quite well. Also you need a good content.

Basically a countries domain ending is always preferred if you are targetting that country. Depending how competitive your domain/keywords are in Brasil it could be fairly easy, or failry hard to rank. Some things to consider. Where you get your links from, if you want it to rank in brasil, get your backlinks form there when possible, also the hosting of your site is a major factor, if you want it to rank in brasil, try and get it hosted there as well. Good luck, and it is possible but you should really go for a local country domain name to make things easy for yourself.

SEO on dynamic website
Hi. I am hoping you can advise. I have a client in one of my training groups and their site is a golf booking engine where all pages are dynamically created based on parameters used in their website search. They want to know what is the best thing to do for SEO. They have some landing pages that Google can see but there is only a small bit of text at the top and the rest of the page is dynamically created. I have advised that they should create landing pages for each of their locations and clubs and use canonicals to handle what Google indexes. Is this the right advice or should they noindex? Thanks S

Used Alternate Domain for Print Material But not Showing up in SERPs
Used an alternate domain name to send print advertising traffic to so we could measure effectiveness. The domain does not have any content on it and only forwards to our actual domain. The issue is neither domain shows up when people search the alternate domain name without .com. The question is, will putting up content under that domain, including meta data, and submitting the site to Google as well as running fetch as Google make the alternate domain name to show up... it's an extremely unique domain name and there's basically zero competition for it.

Subdomains and Forwarding Domains
Will someone who has experience chime in on these two issues below: Do sub-domain links which link back to the main site count as a new link from a new site; or would they be considered more of an internal link? Basically, would a sub-domain link to the main site be like a link from a unique website, or treated like any other internal link on the main site? I am speaking in terms of link juice. Should we 301 sub-domains to the main site internally? Thank you, we really appreciate any input you have!

We're currently not using schemas on our website. How important is it? And are websites across the globe using it?
Schemas looks like an important thing when it comes to structuring your website and ensuring the crawl bots get all the details. I've been reading a lot of articles around the web and most of them are saying that schemas are important but very few websites are using it. Why so? Are the schemas on schema.org there to stay or am I wasting my time?
