Issue of my website Google Penalty or Recent Algorithm Changes only!
-
I recently faced issue of Google recent algo update on my main website. I found my ranks were all of 5th to 7th page even with website name without .com at end we have 5th page shown our biz website. It was a news portal and behind in subdomain i was running my web hosting website.
1. I removed all news content from my website since i thought the news agency send me content send same content to others may cause in the issue so i removed the NEWS AREA
2. I am turn off all of my old subscriptions or membership of blog networks etc. to make sure i get proper good backlinks with good research etc.
Is there anybody who can suggest me what shall i take more action ? Mean any kind of further good suggestion i will highly appreciate if anyone can help me with any suggestions of SEO. I know there are many people who knows lots about it thus i thought to ask to community..
I am also unsure its a Google panelty or a Google recent update negative changes to my website ?
However i have already filled reconsideration request as an possible alternative by explaining google that we are no more NEWS CONTENT Website.
Will wait for responses...

There is absolutely no reason why you can't turn it all around again To a degree, one of my customers also took a hit and with the changes we have made, they are starting to see rankings working their way back up again.
Remember to stick closely to the Google Webmaster guidelines and you will be fine - just don't try anything that could be seen as dodgy in any way and keep hitting that content hard.

Andy

Special thanks to you for such supporting words and explaintaion.
I am really happy that SEOMoz is having such kind of place where such people are there in community to help each other... with knodelege we do have..
Yes, i have taken myself out of all where link networks to make things slow but to have results for long terms SEO.
I am these days trying to use the other good ways of getting backlinks and member of SEOMoz for the same to research more on it.
Just last question.
Do you think we shall keep going good seo on that domain but not the big mistake might be there in past of working with link networks blogs etc ?
I know things will not get back faster but is there any ray of hope to continue things with that old site i say with hope that things may get back in few weeks or months, i am ask since i have first time experience of such things with me and thus never have had any such situation with me i know there can be many more having Google recent algo update related issues.

Firstly, avoid link networks at all cost as these will come back and bite you hard at some point.
Because everything is still being found by Google, I would say this is the algorithm at work.
When you say you have spun articles, unless this has been done to read as a completely unique article, and not just changing a few phrases around, then you will be OK - However, Spun content needs to be of the highest quality so that if you put the two articles net to each other, neither would look like a spun version of the other.
My worry might be that you are being too active in trying to get links back from the wrong places. For example, if you have a news article on a new development for cars, then this article should be discussed only in car forums and blogs. You will be also seen by others who have a genuine interest in what you are saying.
If you have been hit by Panda, it can take many weeks to be re-crawled again, so don't expect fast changes.

Andy

Thanks for the answer. I agree to what you said...
News contents were more than 50000 Pages and i removed them all. I agree that Panalty can be more than this that perhaps Google deindexed it already.
But since i donot have much experience of Panelty 1st time got thus asked here..
For your information: 1. All pages are indexed still for my website
2. All back links still shown in google webmaster tools as well - having currently
3. No errors shown in crawler in google webmaster tool
4. Google still indexing timely and recache of the homepage of my website
5. SEO MOZ says domain authority - 58, SEOMoz Total Links - 1,129,183, Ext. Followed Links: 18,121 I was worried if high rate of article spin submission hurt it ? Or you think only Google Panda update is there ?
However i was doing very variety of submissions blog posts, articles submission to main sites and small article directories as well. Since i was also using same time some membership such as Linkvana, Buildmyrank etc. for the same when i was not SEOMOZ member that time... 1. Do you think its Panda update effect ? 2. Or you think any link network hurt it ? 3. Shall i keep my SEO work going on but smaller with quality i say using SEOMOz pro dashboard etc...sort of high quality back-links findings. 4. I am now concentrating on fresh content to my blog but dont think google do have that much interest to index or rank it for now since i am mostly 4-7 page for any keyword or any search term to my website.
Will wait for reply...

Without seeing the site, it is awkward to make a judgement call on what has happened but from experience, a penalty is usually a lot more harsh than just 5 or 6 pages.
My best guess would be that it is Google Panda at work - and as such look for duplicate content and remove it, or 301, but ultimately, remember to have as much completely unique content as is possible. Focus on this rather than your SEO as a starter.

Andy

My Website disappeared from Google Search Results overnight
Hello there, I'm the owner of the Website https://cours-toujours.com/, dedicated to reviewing running shoes. My Website is pretty young and I'm currently focused on building new reviews (so I keep adding new articles, week after week, I did not really focus on the rest of the website for now).Until a few days ago, I saw growing traffic on my Website, everything seemed good and I kept adding new reviews to my website. And then suddently traffic dropped and went to 0 in 2 days (I went from 550 impressions/day to 49 impressions/day in 2 days :/)When I look in the Google Search Console, I don't see any issue: my sitemaps are submitted and the correct number of URLs are reported I don't have any Manual Action or Security Issue I don't have any Removal Request Everything seems fine... But I can barely find my website in Google Search Results. When I do a site search (site:cours-toujours.com), I find only 2 pages of results, mostly non-important pages (categories, etc.).I asked in Google Community Forums, and i got this reply about my pages being too similar to one another (https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/44880689?hl=en). But I'm not really happy with this answer, as all my pages have ~1000 words of unique content (even if of course they have the same structure as they are all dedicatd to reviewing a running shoe...)Any idea where this might come from/how I can fix the issue?

What can I tell my developer so I pass this test? What will they need to develop A web mockup? Is there an easy code to implement?

Single page website vs Google
Hi, I was wondering on this issue: There is a website for guesthouse. It has all information on one page (it is a valid page, with legitimate content). How google treats those pages? Would it treat it as Doorway Page? Or give some other penalties? What about a bounce rate? Because it will be pretty high, as there is no option to go somewhere else? What is your opinion on single page websites - SEO wise? Is it a shot in the foot? Thanks!

Ranking and Indexing Issue
We have an established site www.getinspired365.com that previously wasn't SEO optimised. We are currently in the process of testing out some new pages to see if we can get them to rank in Google, however we are seeing huge fluctuations in where they rank. Within the first few days we saw our page rank on the first or second page, however it has now dropped out of the top 250 search results. We are wondering if we have made any mistakes with our optimisation ? Example Page : Keyword to target - "If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special." URL : http://www.getinspired365.com/if-you-laugh-you-think-and-you-cry-thats-a-full-day-thats-a-heck-of-a-day-you-do-that-seven-days-a-week-youre-going-to-have-something-special We can see it has been indexed by Google but is now not ranking in the top 250 search engine results. We have run the On Page Grader from SEOMoz and it ranks the page as an "A" so we suspect that we are doing the SEO ok on the page, but can't work out why it isn't ranking, despite ranking on the first or second page after a few days ? We have other pages that aren't SEO optimised that rank better than our newly SEO optimised pages e.g. Keyword - "THE BEST LOVE IS THE KIND THAT AWAKENS THE SOUL AND MAKES US REACH FOR MORE, THAT PLANTS A FIRE IN OUR HEARTS AND BRINGS PEACE TO OUR MINDS. AND THAT'S WHAT YOU'VE GIVEN ME. THAT'S WHAT I'D HOPED TO GIVE YOU FOREVER" URL: http://www.getinspired365.com/20130528 Any advice you could offer would be great. Thanks ! Mike

Does google know every time you change content on your page
What i mean by the question is, so on our home page www.in2town.co.uk we change the article under lifestyle story of the day, if this changes every hour, will this encourage google to visit that page more often or will then just ignore that and just visit each day would love to hear your thoughts on this

Google Places Page Changes
We had a client(dentist) hire another marketing firm(without our knowledge) and due to some Google page changes they made, their website lost a #1 ranking, was disassociated with the places page and was placed at result #10 below all the local results. We quickly made some changes and were able to bring them up to #2 within a few days and restore their Google page after about a week, but the tracking/forwarding phone number the marketing company was using shows up on the page despite attempts to contact Google through updating the business in places management as well as submit the phone number as incorrect while providing the correct phone number. And because the client fired that marketing company, the phone number will no longer be active in a few days. Of course this is very important for a dental office. Has anyone else had problems with the speed and updating Google Places/Plus pages for businesses? What's the most efficient way to make changes like this?

Product Duplicate Content Issue with Google Shopping
I have a site with approx 20,000 products. These products are resold to hundreds of other companies and are fed from one database therefore the content is duplicated many many times. To overcome this, we are launching the site with noindex meta tags on all product pages. (In phase 2 we will begin adding unique content for every product eek) However, we still want them to appear in Google Shopping. Will this happen or will it have to wait until we remove the noindex tags?

What's the issue?
Hi, We have a client who dropped in the rankings (initially from bottom of the first page to page to page 3, and now page 5) for a single keyword (their most important one - targeted on their homepage) back in the middle of March. So far, we've found that the issue isn't the following: Keyword stuffing on the page External anchor text pointing to the page Internal anchor text pointing to the page In addition to the above, the drop didn't coincide with panda or penguin. Any other ideas as to what could cause such a drop for a single keyword (other related rankings haven't moved). We're starting to think that this may just have been another small change in the algorithm but it seems like too big of a drop in a short space of time for that to be the case. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks.
