Can I use a customized Google+ icon?
-
I just want to ask if it is possible to use a customized Google+ icon. I am confused after I have read this "For buttons that may be rendered by the Publisher, such as the Sharing Link, the Publisher must use only the official Google-provided icon or a plain text and link combination.
source: http://www.google.com/intl/en/webmasters/+1/button/policy.html
Thanks in advance!

Agreed.
I too use a T as a button, similar to yours by the sounds of it! I've been wary of using it though because of their policy. However, we've been going with the T button for about 2+ years and we get 250K unique monthly visitors... I would have thought someone would have given us a slap on the wrist by now if it wasn't allowed, right?
I'm sure it's fine...

Thanks for the heads up Matt.
Luckily this doesn't apply since I used a button without the little bird in it. I made a Button with a F for Facebook a L for Linkedin and a T for Twitter so no bird in there. As i understand the policy even birds are allowed but you may not alter the bird (making it look the other way) or anything. Since I haven't done that I should be in the clear.
It's on a test domain for a client o f mine without any real promotional attention.
Still better to know now then later right. Thanks dude.

Jarno,
Twitter are actually a bit funny about the use of their imagery... See their policy here - https://twitter.com/logo just so you don't accidentally get yourself into trouble

Hi,
if the policy states that you have to use the official logo why not use that one then? I know that you can use a home made logo for facebook, linkedin and twitter but not Google+ I never even tried.
I would suggest using the button supported by Google since their policy states you should (I believe you can choose different version right?)...
my 2 cents
Regards
Jarno

Using BUFFER in Social Sharing
Hello everyone, I am inclining to use a platform from which to post my social content. I use mainly facebook, twitter, linked in, google +. I used Hoot, but found it difficult to include Linked In, and several other social media sites. Somebody has experience using BUFFER? Ive read about it, and it seems great! Would you recommend it? Thanks for your comments,

Should you have both google authorship & publisher set up on a website?
I have read that its a good idea to have both rel=author & rel= publisher set up on a website If so What is the best way to set it up to where rel=author and rel=publisher appear in your website source code? I use wordpress genesis site and have the Yoast seo plugin **In the user profile section on WP there is an area to enter google Authorship link **In the Yoast dashboard there is a place to enter google publisher link. When I check my source code…….I see rel=publisher only on the home page, however ALL my other WordPress Pages and Posts have rel=author. Does that sound correct?

How can I gain links by creating infographics and/or memes?
It seems that both infographics and memes seem to be popular methods of creating good quality links at the moment, but how can you actually gain links by using these? When people share the graphics they will need to put an extra link in back to you and obviously most will be via social media so will not be worth that much to Google? Do I need to email these out to blogs etc?
