Alexa: is it worth paying for their subscription

For $9.99 you get an improved site listing i.e. logo and 2 direct links to your website? Are these links valuable from and SEO point of view? Has anyone taken out a subscription for this reason, even though they could be construed as paid links?

im using alexa for almost 2 years, as a free member but i noticed that my links don't count as much the other sites, here i want to know the experience.
So i was thinking that if pay for them then they would optimize my site view more and i think the number of links that could be counted by alexa can increase.
i mean Alexa are private company and there crawling for paid members should be better results and faster to achieve the results
you want => higher ranking on Alexa + higher number of backlinks counted by Alexa = higher ranking for Google
because there is sites they have thousands of backlinks with Alexa , i mean how is that.
so im going to pay for alexa this months and see if they will count my other links .
ill post back after i get the results.

Surely the links are no-follow?. I personally don't know anyone at all that pays for Alexa. Also, Is it 9.99 one time or per month?

Online press coverage: publications asking for fee to add backlink. Should I pay?
For the last few years I've been gaining steady backlinks for my clients by producing online press releases for them (e.g. publishing results of a survey they commissioned, or their expert opinion on recent news, etc). The online coverage included a backlink naturally or by me just asking the publication nicely. But recently I'm finding that publications are asking for a fee to publish the article (with a link) or they will publish the article for free, but will add a link for a fee. Note: these publications aren't link-building-sites, they're good DA sites such as https://www.femalefirst.co.uk/ and https://www.moneymagpie.com/ (MOZ DAs of 80 and 56 respectively). The fees are around $200 each. The clients can afford to pay for this type of coverage, but is there a risk in these cases with Google?

Are Sidebar Backlinks worth for SEO?
Hello! Let's use the following example: I have a blog (let's call it Blog A) and I find another blog in the same niche (this will be Blog B) that has higher DA and PA than mine. Will Google penalize me if the Blog B puts a link to my blog in their sidebar? Remember, the Blog A and Blog B are from the same niche. I ask this because Google says that links on sidebars appears in every page and in some pages the link may be useless. But if both blogs are from the same niche, there won't be pages where the links will be from different themes and with less relevance. So, is my thought correct: we can use sidebar links without caring about penalization ONLY if the blogs are from the same niche? Thanks in advance!

Today I gained my first link, I tried to reach to the highest qualify link I could identify.
I'd like to know if you think my two hours effort was worthy, or laughable. Because I can gain other 3 or 4 links from other domains working like that. I tell you where is my first link: the top domain is in the same niche business, DA 79

Has the Humminbird update caused links to be worth less or more?
As things move on will links be worth less as recent updates including the hummingbird update are moving further and further in the direction of content and social signals being the important. On the other hand good links are becoming so hard to find, that may make them become more important than ever. I'm trying to split my time up between content creation and link building/PR. which area should be focused on most. we have more quality content than we do quality links. our link profile is good but far to small. any suggestions what to focus on?

Paying to be listed on link directories... a little help?
So, I was perusing SEOMoz's suggested link directory list and noticed some sites there require paid links. I have a couple questions regarding this: Is paying for directory listings a good idea? I'm not crazy enough to buy a bunch of links; I want to create a sustainable SEO strategy. But I do know that most everyone does at least a little paid linking. Is there a budget or percentage of ones total links you would recommend for this? Is it REALLY ok to do this at all? Also, assuming I have about $200-$500/month I could spend purchasing links, what sites are best to get links for first? Just a bit of background: we're starting a content marketing strategy for our business and are spending about $2,000 per month "buying" content (design, data, writing, etc.) so purchasing links is definitely NOT our strategy and never will be. Paying someone to get me links-bad idea?
By this i dont mean paying for links as such...I mean the people that advertise on websites like Fiverr saying they will get you links to your site from edu/gov domains...or angela/paul style links etc. I'm doing all the proper link building stuff like blogging/guest blogs/articles etc etc but am up against competitiors with thousands of links...Is this a way to 'catch up' or should it be avoided. A sitewide footer link on SiteA with keyword anchor text to SiteB homepage 2. A sitewide footer link on SiteA with brand name to SiteB homepage 3. A single link on SiteA homepage to SiteB homepage 4.
