Hi Michael,
If you download the SEOmoz report in CSV format, there is a column that says where the link is coming from. Hope that helps!

Google Webmaster Tools shows you where the 404 is being pointed from. When you click on the Not Found data there is a tab that says "Linked From". This will tell you all the URLs containing the link to a dead page.
Hope that helps!

Javascript(0) extension causing an excess of 404's
For some reason I am getting a duplicate version of my urls with /javascript(0) at the end. These are creating an abundance of 404 errors. I know I am not supposed to block JS files so what is the best way to block these? Ex: http://www.jasonfox.me/infographics/page/8/javascript(0) is a 404 http://www.jasonfox.me/infographics/page/8/ is not Thank you.

Still getting 404 after re-directs
Hi Guys, I have joined SEO moz yesterday and ran a report and saw that I needed to redirect some old Urls - I have done this but still get the 404s. Download report here: http://optimise-website-marketing.com/report.csv You can see from the report that the following are redirected to the homepage but still show up as 404s on the page. Examples: http://www.optimise-website-marketing.com/1-site-for-all/ http://www.optimise-website-marketing.com/what-is-cro/ Many thanks Matt

How long after a URL starts showing a 404 does Google stop crawling?
Before hiring me to do SEO, a client re-launched their site and did not 301 the old URLs to the new. Only the home page URL stayed the same. For a month after the re-launch, the old URLs returned a 404. For the next month, all 404 pages (basically any non-existent URL) were 301'd to the home page. Finally, 2 months after launching, they properly 301'd the old URLs to the new. Now, the new URLs are not ranking well. I assume it's too late to realize any benefit from the 301's, just checking to see if anybody has any insight into how long Google keeps trying to crawl old/404/improperly 301'd URLs. Thanks!

Finding 404 links
My first campaign is nearly complete and I have like 40 - 404's. How can I find where these links are on my site? We recently moved over to WP from html and that's what happened.

How to trace back a link from a 404 error?
How do I find the link that is still refferring to a 404 error? Somewhere on my site there is a link pointing to an un-usable page and I cant find where that link is to fix the 404 error. I could just delete the page all together, but I would like to find the problematic link first.
