I'm not sure how I feel about the +1 thing that they are trying to do to help influence search results. Kind of a ripoff of Facebook's "like" button. Seems like its not widespread enough, so they are probably just up to their usual testing.

I'm seeing it now in Canada!
It really looks sparse. Must be a test of some sort...I can't see this being an improvement.
I'm seeing in the left column the words "Something different"...I don't think I've seen that before. When I typed in "Canada" the "Something different" column lists other countries. When I type in "SeoMoz", "Something Different" says, "Mashable, Search Engine Land, marketingsherpa, coppyblogger, smashing magazine"
Is this new?

Not in Leeds UK yet. I guess it will roll out worldwide over the next week or so?

Not here yet in California. Techcrunch is saying people on Twitter are talking about seeing it.

Looks like techcrunch has picked it up http://techcrunch.com/2011/05/06/google-new-results-page/

Haven't seen that change here in London - looks good though!

Not here so far. But I'm in .ca land so it may not hit here first.

The "Fetch As Google" limit has been decreased - what now?
Since Google decreased the "Fetch As Google" limit to ten pages per day, we've been a bit stuck. We're publishing 20-30 content pages per day, targeting a huge range of search queries. Circa 40% of our traffic comes to us through these pages. Since we're now heavily restricted on submitting these to Google, who's got other ideas to get the pages picked up quickly? I'm slightly concerned because although the pages link outwards to other areas of the website, no other areas of the site link to these pages. They're purely top-of-the-funnel. We can't be the only people with this concern. How would you address it?

What are your opinions on the Google News vs Spanish Government Issue ?
Greg Sterling said: "Governments across Europe are justifiably alarmed by the declining fortunes of their respective newspaper industries. However punitive or parasitic taxation measures targeting Google, masquerading as copyright protections, are not the answer." Do you agree?

Google penalty removal expert questions
We have searched online for a Google penalty “expert” (individual or company) and have located what appear to be “experts”. Please provide feedback on the following 2 individuals/companies we have found that can help with penalty removal. Have you or one of your clients used either of the “experts” below? What were the results? How many disavows and reconsideration requests did you/they have to make? 1.www.penaltypros.com . To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from Google Webmaster Tools only. Penaltypros.com disavows first and then removes bad links second. This is opposite of what Google and Seo’s recommend but penaltypros.com claims 100% success using this non-traditional approach. See imgur.com link for screenshot. 2.http://www.hiswebmarketing.com/ To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from https://ahrefs.com/ only. Please provide any and all feedback on the above 2 “experts” and also post the websites, individual names, company names of those that you consider Google penalty removal “experts” so that we may obtain a quote from them. Very odd behavior. Google is changing “%20” to “+” in my URLS
I just realized many of the links on my site are BROKEN when entered from a Google SERP. This didn’t used to be this way. I have no idea what’s going but I’m worried. It involves a folder of our site that has a space in it. Google is even displaying the proper “%20” in the SERP but when I click the link it replaces that “%20” with a + which breaks the link!! You can see this in action by typing in “brown jordan sheffield furniture” without quotes into Google. You’ll see our site come up first and displaying this link sheffieldfurniture.com/Other%20Furniture/BrownJordan.html but when you click it the link is broken! This is happening on many of our pages! Anyone know what in the world is going on?

Has anybody used Yext or Universal Business Listings as an automated approach to getting clients into all of the many directories? If so does it work? Or does Google penalize in using these automated services?
I'm trying to figure out if using either Yext or Universal Business Listings is worth it. They have reseller programs for SEO agencies. I just am curious what other SEO folks think of these services as I'm considering using one of them to automate and save time for clients. If you go to Yext.com or universalbusinesslistings.org you can see these. Curious what others say about these. Thanks

Anyone seen any dramatic changes in SERPs 18th Feb?
Hi Guys, Wondering if there has been an algorithm update or new Panda released today? Not seen any news in Google yet however noticed fair shuffle of all results in my niche, particularly in the top 3. The main take I've had from the brief research is that the brands in the niche have popped up a few spots and blogs / affiliate sites etc have dropped. Results noticed using Google.co.uk
