Anyone else seeing a new google search result look?

Just noticed my google search results page has changed. Anyone else seeing this? Screenshot http://cl.ly/2h0v2i2w191O32082U0T

I'm not sure how I feel about the +1 thing that they are trying to do to help influence search results. Kind of a ripoff of Facebook's "like" button. Seems like its not widespread enough, so they are probably just up to their usual testing.

I'm seeing it now in Canada!
It really looks sparse. Must be a test of some sort...I can't see this being an improvement.
I'm seeing in the left column the words "Something different"...I don't think I've seen that before. When I typed in "Canada" the "Something different" column lists other countries. When I type in "SeoMoz", "Something Different" says, "Mashable, Search Engine Land, marketingsherpa, coppyblogger, smashing magazine"
Is this new?

Not in Leeds UK yet. I guess it will roll out worldwide over the next week or so?

Not here yet in California. Techcrunch is saying people on Twitter are talking about seeing it.

Looks like techcrunch has picked it up http://techcrunch.com/2011/05/06/google-new-results-page/

Haven't seen that change here in London - looks good though!

Not here so far. But I'm in .ca land so it may not hit here first.

I have a new domain, how should i best use it?
Hi all, Recently signed upto Moz and loving what i am seeing at the moment.I do alot of microsites and push both adwords and affiliate programmes and products and earn enough to give me some fun money. For a long time i have wanted to get into the mobile phone market as i have spoken to alot of people who get anything upto £100 a time from affiliate programmes. I have just purchased a new domain after doing some digging around and though that before i dive into doing things how i normally would , i thought id ask advice on how to best utilise the domain i have bought. Ive just purchased newiphone.co.uk and will put up a holding page once all of the registration has gone through and i have access to everything. According to Google keyword planner the term 'new iphone' gets around 368k searches a month. Moz says this is an extremely difficult keyword to rank for with a 80% difficulty rating so i appreciate i wont be at number 1 in a couple of weeks. Id appreciate your ideas and suggestions as a community to see how i go forward. Many tanks in advancePaul

Just want to know if others have seen simliar results with Squidoo's organic visits
I have some old squidoo pages and yes they haven't been tended to as well as my other content that is outperforming it, and yes that could be why. So rather than asking why it is underperforming, I just want to know if anyone else has heard that Squidoo was in line for a spanking, or if anyone else has seen similar organic reductions. That way I know if it's me getting the spanking, or if it's squidoo. Thanks a mil. Tyler

Is Google Making Life Harder For Aggregators?
Theres been a bunch of updates recently which have hurt aggregators: Reducing the number of search results to 7 for branded search queries The DMCA update which penalises those with trademark related takedown requests against them. At least 2 'domain diversity' updates, the most recent last week, which seeks to reduce the ability of sites to dominate SERPS e.g. a site which may have 2 search results on page 1 now may have 1. Plus Its commonly believed that Google favours big brands over smaller brands e.g. Marriott over examplehotelaggregator.com. Is this a deliberate ploy against aggregators in favour of brands i.e. does Google believe a brand site is a better search result than an aggregator? A brand site returned above an aggregator for a branded term may be seen by Google as a better fit, a better search result that should be higher. But is that true? Consumers like to see unbiased reviews and lowest prices and that isnt always available at the brand site. Thoughts please.

Looking For Offline Software that Synchronizes with an E-commerce Website.
First of all, this isn't really SEO related. I can see this being an interesting discussion. One of my websites has a POS system that has an integrated eCommerce store where using a third party software you can sync the data that is in the pos directly to the website. You can add what products you want on the website with the (offline) software and add all the online product essentials such as product pictures, shipping weights, titles and ECT. I am looking for a shopping cart system that is an offline software that you would install on your PC and basically add everything offline and then sync like the other software but without the pos. It would basically be like eBay turbo Lister but instead of eBay it would be your website...obliviously. I have been looking for a while now and can't seem to find anything. Is there such a thing? I know this would be kick ass platform to develop and I have everything mapped out how to do it if there isn't one out there. Looking for insight.

Convert Oganic ranking into Local Search Results
Hi, Right now, my website appears in top 5 results in organic SERPs, but I noticed that my business has gradually started going down, as my local results have been replaced by organic search results. Initially I used to rank in local results, but now, I appear in organic results so the no. of calls/day have decreased significantly. Now, I again want to appear in local search results instead of organic results. Please advice what should I do to remove my listing from organic search results and improve position in local search results PFA the screenshots for both the results for your better understanding. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, qHKAt.png 0cPOp.png

Questions to help get to know a potential client and see what the possibilities are for there campaign?
OK so I am putting together a list of questions to refer potential clients to. The purpose of these questions is to: 1, Help them understand the difference between "just give us your keywords and we will make you rank" seo and the full range of options that are advocated here on seo moz. .... 2, Get them to see that there are different levels of involvement that are available for different aspects of a campaign and give them ideas and options on how much input they want to have as well as make them see that we can help them with even the stuff they are gonna do themselves or do it for them with there input and permission. Thats where things get a bit confusing I was thinking of having a list of fifty linkbuilding/linkbaiting techniques and check box options beside each one so that they can read a little bit about the particular technique ie forum participation for example and then see how they felt like that related to there industry , wether they would want there staff to do it with some training from us wther they would want us to help them find the right forums and show them how to link back and to which page, or wether they would just want us to handle everything or simply not feel that that was right for there business .. then they would move on to the next thing ie video creation or user generated content and in the end we would have a big list of things to discuss with them and they would have a better understandiing of how much there is to good seo and what might work for them and also how we could help them and how a relationship/ partnership might look I would love some feed back on this is it possible will it help us to build trust with potential clients (which is diffucult for a new biz in this industry) how would you lay it out would it be a usefull resource for other seo companies etc thanks so much seo mozzers this forum is awsome and i know you will steer me in the right direction oh ps this would be something we would keep on our site

Google Products / Google Shopping
My client has a site with products a lot of which are so similar in function that for usability reasons we have combined some products on the same pages. We want to get into Google Shopping, but on the face of it the Google feed seems to want unique urls per product. I guess we could have products on the same page then have single pages as well, though that could generate duplicate content. We could also try pointing several products to 1 URL, does anyone know if this would work? Or can anyone suggest any work arounds? Justin

New business acquisition for digital agencies from SEO and CRO
I have a nice simple question to ask all you mozzers out there, specifically if you work for a web design/digital agency. Does your agency get any new business clients through your SEO and CRO efforts? I'm asking this to try and build up a qualitative data set. I am responsible for all SEO and CRO at our agency for all clients along with our own website. Having increased traffic by over 200% in the last 12 months, and obtaining page one of Google for all our targeted keywords, we are still without any new business or ROI. We are fortunate enough to get a lot of great clients via word of mouth, a great sales team and client retention, I'd really like to know what the bigger picture is here? If I get enough data back, I'll make it into my first Youmoz post and share all the data with everyone :¬) I've now added a survey so you answer anonymously: There are only 5 questions in all, your time is greatly appreciated. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/New_business_acquisitions_for_digital_agencies Any feedback gladly welcomed. Regards Sean
