Google shutting down Rank Tracking Software? - Raven and AHREFS close down ranking results.
-
Hi,
I was wondering if other people had noticed the (very sudden) closing down of the ranking tools for both Raven and Ahrefs - both of which were major parts of their software. Given the sudden and synced timing my guess is that Google is throwing its weight around and banking on the doors of companies offering ranking software with the threat of a fat lawsuite!
What is everyone else using for their rank checking ?
Will this impact SEOMOZ ranking results ?
-
Thanks Rand - that good to hear.

Hi James - this change won't impact SEOmoz rankings. We're planning to maintain that data long term (as many other companies do. You might be interested to read my previous responses to this question a couple times at the URLs below:

I posted this in a previous question asked, so I hope this helps:
Traffic travis, but it is a software and i would recommend you get an ip switcher if you use it so that you don't get your ip banned.
Raven Tools and Ahrefs are discontinuing their rank checkers at the request of google last i heard.
SEM Rush is another tool that can track what keywords for your website as well.
Hope that helps.

Weird I just asked the same question.... I hope this gets a lot of input from people.

Rank Tracking
I just wanted to check with people in the know, A Keyword I'm tracking with the Rank Tracker Research tool is showing #7 in the SEOMoz tool but when I google it myself it isn't showing up in the serps on page 1. I'm assuming that google serps might be distirbuted with a certain "latency" for different users, I just wanted to check check with you guys.

Grade F pages - all first in Google
Any anyone explain what value the Grade pages are if, as in my case, I have 9 Grade F pages of which 4 are in first position on Google, 1 is in second and the rest are 4th! I understand why SEOM might be flagging them as Grade F (keyword use in tags etc), but it seems it must be looking at the wrong clues if it still thinks that its recommendations are the most relevant to improving position. These are not obscure terms (Spy devices, electronic surveillance, spy systems, surveillance systems) for a UK site (www.spycatcheronline.co.uk) I appreciate that the points highlighted may need to be addressed, but clearly the pages/site are doing something right to come first - does this not devalue the whole Grade system on SEOM? Charles.

UK Google Results .com V's .co.uk
In the UK lots of people use google.com rather than google.co.uk. See: http://weblogs.hitwise.com/robin-goad/2008/04/how_popular_is_googles_pages_from__the_uk_search_option.html The above data is a bit out of date but still I know lots of UK people who search on google.com. When I depersonalise the results and search there is a difference between what I see on google.com V's what I see on google.co.uk. Indeed one of the companies I work for ranks ok on google.co.uk, but not so well on google.com Questions: How would I best track ranking for UK based users who use google.com AND/OR google.co.uk using the SEOmoz tools (or other tools if appropriate)? I note that in "Google Webmaster Tools" you can change the setings to "Target users in United Kingdom". Given the fact that UK users use both google.com AND/OR google.co.uk would it be better to change this to unlisted or deselect the "Target users in" option? Thanks in advance. Justin

SEOMoz rocks, but is it breaking Google's webmaster guidelines when it comes to check rankings?
Hi all, The Google's webmaster guideline in question reads... "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google." So, when WebPosition Gold is not recommended then how come SEOMoz is acceptable to check ranks for websites belonging to SEOMoz PRO? Do Google neglects breaking of few guidelines by good boys? Thanks in advance.

Google analytics sync with SEOMOZ
Hey guys, I'm looking to sync our clients google analytic profiles to our clients campaigns in SEO MOZ. However all our clients google analytic profiles are on the one google account and not separate accounts. So I'm asking does SEO MOZ only allow you to grab the traffic data of one clients profile from a google account instead of multiple profiles from the same google account for different campaigns? If so has anybody got a workaround or any suggestions? If I haven't explained myself clearly let me know and I'll break it down further. Thanks again. Rob
