Wiped from Google Top 50 and Need Diagnostic Help
-
Hey All,
On the 4th of January our site (http://spotcolorstudio.com) Webmaster tools showed a massive drop in the number of impressions we're getting from Google. We went from over 500 to around 100 and we haven't recovered.
That week's SEOMOZ keyword report showed we were wiped from the Top 50 for everything we were tracking except our branded terms.
I've seen no indicators to why this might have happened. Our Domain Authority hasn't changed. I haven't received any malware notices in Webmaster tools.
GetListed.org displayed our Google Places listing as not present despite being able to click through and see our listing displaying as "active."
Is it possible there's something wrong with the DNS that I'm missing?
What could cause a complete wiping like this that wouldn't trigger an alert in Webmaster tools?
Any help, guidance or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Craig

Also, around the 4th, the total pages indexed dropped almost in half. What could cause Google to drop the total number of indexed pages?

Need Help with www and non-www redirect
Hi everyone, I've been looking around the forum and found some similar topics but none of them have solved my problem. Anyway, I'm new to SEO and found that when I use Open Site Explorer for the www version of my site I see the links directed to my page, but none of my twitter stats show up. When I do the same for my non-www version. I see my twitter stats, but no links. Facebook seems unchanged. Also, the Page Authority is much higher for the www (I assume because of the links) It is my understanding that it doesn't matter which version of the domain is used, I just need to pick one and stick with it (on Google Webmaster Tools, etc.). And that I also need to do a 301 redirect for the version that I'm not using. The issue now is that I have a 301 redirect, and when I type in my url in any version (http, https, www, non-www) it all redirects in the browser without issue. So i know users are getting to the right page, but the Open Site Explorer still sees them as 2 different sites. My concern is that if Open Site Explorer sees it this way then Google may see it this way as well and I could be missing out on potential rankings. I'm currently doing the redirect in the .htaccess file. The redirect looks like this: RewriteEngine On
Moz Pro | | opstart
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] Any Ideas on what I need to do to properly 301 redirect the site so that my preferred version can get credited with the links, twitter, and Page Authority stats? Also, I'm using wordpress and it has the URL set to the non-www version of the site. However, I think I would like to change this to the www version because most of the links are directing to www, and I also think people are more familiar with that format. Anyway, sorry for the long post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.0 -
Does Google really care about cheaters?
In analysing my competitors website I have discovered that they have over 600 fake pages that appear to have been created by some sort of internal search engine software, all pages are exactly alike except for the keyword and the words "no results found" on every page. I have discovered, elsewhere, that their duplicate content is abnormally high, and that their pages are stuffed with keywords.(in on page grader) I come out top in every section in Moz open site explorer, except internal links and total links. Yet they sit at number 1, while my site is number 2, I believe that copying their antics would surely make me fall foul of Google, and certainly would never risk it. but with the keyword only getting 30 searches a month, are google bothered about them doing this, should I resign myself to not being number 1 and is there anyone on this Forum who believes that I should use the same tactics, to get above them.

Why does Seomoz report other values then Google Webmaster?
Dear Seomoz Community I check my Seomoz ranking from time to and today I saw a big discrepancy between the reported domains linking to my site in the Site Explorer and Google Webmaster tools. Seomoz reports 19 linking domains

Google shows 150 domains linking to my site. Is there an explanation for this discrepancy? Thank for helping me out 😉0 -
Integration of Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube?
I ran across a blog on Moz from last November that was introducing the social monitoring feature. It mentioned adding new social platforms that would eventually be included in SEOMoz. Any word on when/if that is happening? Excited to have SEO and Social under the same dashboard! Jake

Google Inbound Links much higher than SEOMOZ
I just started here and really like everything the community and tools so far. One question. My SEOMOZ dashboard shows only one inbound link while Google Web Tools shows 300+. My site has been up for 3 months now and I'm curious about the lack of indexing. Any help, tips or feedback is greatly appreciated. http://CrossTrainingandFitness.com Robb Jarrett

Help with duplicate title tags?
I was looking in Google webmaster tools and it says I have 95 duplicate title tags for my site Noah's Dad. When I look through the list it appears the pages with duplicate title tags are some of my category pages, archive pages, and some author pages... Not sure if you guys can use some of the tools to see what is actually showing up duplicate or not, and if you need more info just let me know. But I wanted to see if this is something I should be concerned with? Should WMT also say 0 in duplicate content? It seems like when I started my blog I was told no to be conceded with this sort of stuff in gwmt. Anyways...I just wanted to see what you guys think. (By the way, is there any way to tell what this duplicate content is having (or has had) on my SERP results? Thanks.

A suggestion to help with linkscape crawling and data processing
Since you guys are understandably struggling with crawling and processing the sheer number of URLs and links, I came up with this idea: In a similar way to how SETI@Home (is that still a thing? Google says yes: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/) works, could SEOmoz use distributed computing amongst SEO moz users to help with the data processing? Would people be happy to offer up their idle processor time and (optionally) internet connections to get more accurate, broader data? Are there enough users of the data to make distributed computing worthwhile? Perhaps those who crunched the most data each month could receive moz points or a free month of Pro. I have submitted this as a suggestion here:
