Mixed up Rankings
-
I was checking my ranking reports and double checking them on Google to see if it match.
My rankings was updated today on seomoz and almost none of the rankings match the real thing. For example I have a rank that in seomoz says 9th place and i am checking it at google and it says 6th. Is there a possible explanation?
I am in a need of an answer as soon as possible.
Thanks in Advance

Have same issue but it is Google doing it's dance at the moment will take some time to settle :-).

If you check here there are a few specific reasons why your results might vary in more detail:
http://www.seomoz.org/help/rankings
About 1/4 of the way down they detail a few reasons for the differences.
They also mention trying "To turn off personalization, append &pws=0 to the end, so it would look like google.com/search?q=SEO&pws=0."
And then theres always the chance for latency: the difference in time between when SeoMoz does the search and then sends you the report.

I am using various browsers for search plus i am not logged in and i am disabling previous search activity and stuff..........

Are you logged into Google? Do you have search history enabled? What is your geo targeted location?
Any of these can drastically change the rankings you will see. The effects of personalized search.
The fact that you are seeing a higher ranking in your results than what SeoMoz reports leads me to believe one of the above issues is causing your issue.
I usually have multiple browsers just for this purpose. I tend to have at least one browser that I almost never use for the purpose of "checking" rankings(opera or safari). I usually clear all cache and history from the browser to anonomize the results as much as possible. As well as to make sure that I'm not logged into Google.

Rank tracking in Excel via MOZ API?
Hi there, i hope someone knows the solution to this problem. I created/ copied the "advanced Excel Keyword Analysis Report" that Dan Peskin was kind enough to share, you can find it here: http://moz.com/blog/how-to-build-an-advanced-keyword-analysis-report-in-excel. Now i m looking for a solution to rank my Keywords by using an API, preferably the MOZ API. My keywords are alligned in a column "Keword List", which will be regularly updated. Next to this column i would like to have a column with the corresponding rank. Is there a automatic solution, or do i have to do it manually?

Anyone else having trouble with the compare your keyword positions with competitors section of the analytics? I have just manually checked and they are very much listed in the engine. Is this tool broken?

There are several videos of ours on 3rd party sites (YouTube, Vimeo) that are in universal placements but show as not ours. Since they are not on our domain is there a way we can claim them in the rankings report to make the report more accurate?

Rankings in Google.be - 3 languages
As the site of my customers is in 3 languages, I also want to monitor the rankings in 3 languages. I do have the possibility to monitor them in seomoz: google.be english google.be dutch google.be french However, in the report (http://pro.seomoz.org/campaigns/227154/rankings) I do see the 3 columns, but the title is only google.be, WITHOUT the language selection. Not really helpfull... Any advice? oNDu9

Rankings in Google UK
Hi there, Can someone explain the difference between the results in Google UK - the default is 'The Web', whereas I can opt to choose 'Pages from the UK'. My question is: If I'm tracking rankings for Google United Kingdom in SEOMoz, is it tracking the results from 'Pages from the UK' or the default setting of 'The Web'? Are there any statistics on how many people choose to see 'Pages from the UK'? Thanks

Is the SEOMOZ rank checker accounting for the mega sitelinks?
Just curious if the SEOMOZ rank checker accounts for the mega sitelinks? Are this counted as separate listings (which would in effect make it report a lower serp position) or are they bundled up with the first result and considered as #1 spot? Thanks
