Why is my domain not being crawled anymore?
-
I just noticed that right around 12/1/2012, SEOMoz stopped crawling all but two pages out of the 400 or so on my website at www.TrustworthyCare.com . I speculate that this is probably due to some dumb mistake I made at that time, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that mistake was. Before that, the weekly crawls included all 400 or so pages.
I wonder whether it's something that changed in our .htaccess file. Here's how that file looks now; can anyone see what is wrong there, or perhaps offer other suggestions if it doesn't look like anything is wrong in it?
Thanks!
- Tim

PPS - I found and read this page, but I've pretty much tried the things described there (I think): https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/409821-why-isn-t-my-site-being-crawled-you-re-not-crawling-all-my-pages

THANK YOU!
That was the information that I needed. I didn't know to look for that "robots" meta information. With that, it was pretty quick work to find where I must have accidentally turned on a setting on my home page's settings to cause that to happen.

Hey Tim,
Thanks for writing in! I took a look at your crawl diagnostics and it looks like one of the notices we are returning is that there is a nofollow directive in the source code of http://www.trustworthycare.com/. I checked the source code on http://www.trustworthycare.com/ and I am definitely seeing that directive in there, as well (http://screencast.com/t/FGF29en2). This directive means that we are not allowed to follow through any links on that page, so we crawl trustworthycare.com which redirects to www.trustworthycare.com and then we can't go any further into the site due to that directive.
I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Yes, I have looked at WMT.
I used it to test my robots.txt file, here are the results:
For the domain http://www.trustworthycare.com/ it reports:
Allowed; Detected as a directory; specific files may have different restrictions
It reports that it can fetch the homepage successfully.
It reports the following under crawl errors:
Access denied: 1
Not found: 76 (none of these are ones that would be likely to block the entire domain from being crawled)
I investigated the Access denied and it turned out to be this file:
trustworthycare.com/public_html/sitectrl/wp-app.php
Would that be causing this? It doesn't seem likely.

Have you taken a look at your Google Webmaster Tools? Among the various things it will give you a list of all the crawl errors that you have on your website. That might be of help.

Domain still not being found in search
Hi guys, I've been handed a client who needs some seo work. I've tweaked one of their pages to focus on a chosen keywords about 4 months back but still the site is not even visible using the new Domain Analysis tool from moz and it still won't rank at all for the keywords. Am I missing something here? Is there something blocking the SERP from listing the website? I've ran a site: search on Google and it returns 283 results on the website. It's puzzling me as there clearly is something stopping it from being ranked. The domain name in question is: https://cloud9inecommunications.co.uk Thanks in advance.

Seeing steady drop in Domain Authority?
Hi! I'm working with a client that has seen a steady drop in their domain authority over the past year and a half. They were at 75 in October '13 and now they're down to 67. The drop seems rather steady over this time, no big dip. They've actually worked their crawl errors during this time and have reduced a ton of them. I can't figure out why this metric would be dropping. Anyone know of something measurable I can look at to help pinpoint the problem (and of course actions to fix it)? Thanks so much!

Functionality of SEOmoz crawl page reports
I am trying to find a way to ask SEOmoz staff to answer this question because I think it is a functionality question so I checked SEOmoz pro resources. I also have had no responses in the Forum too it either. So here it is again. Thanks much for your consideration! Is it possible to configure the SEOMoz Rogerbot error-finding bot (that make the crawl diagnostic reports) to obey the instructions in the individual page headers and http://client.com/robots.txt file? For example, there is a page at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm month=5&day=14&year=2007 that has – in the header -
Moz Pro | | jimmyzig
<meta name="robots" content="noindex"> </meta name="robots" content="noindex"> This page is themed Quote of the Day page and is duplicated twice intentionally at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm?month=5&day=14&year=2004 and also at http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm?month=5&day=14&year=2010 but they all have <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> in them. So Google should not see them as duplicates right. Google does not in Webmaster Tools.</meta name="robots" content="noindex"> So it should not be counted 3 times? But it seems to be? How do we gen a report of the actual pages shown in the report as dups so we can check? We do not believe Google sees it as a duplicate page but Roger appears too. Similarly, one can use http://truthbook.com/contemplative_prayer/ , here also the http://truthbook.com/robots.txt tells Google to stay clear. Yet we are showing thousands of dup. page content errors when Google Webmaster tools as shown only a few hundred configured as described. Anyone? Jim0 -
Drop in domain authority for myself and all my competitors, was something changed?
On the 1/11 report all four websites dropped, and starting on 2/12 they all dropped a few more times. These are all large companies who are completely white hat. Was something changed? The reason I asked is all of our linking C-Blocks dropped as well. Mine dropped from 114 to 42 and I have no idea why. All of my competitors dropped as well, is this related?

How do I fix a duplicate content error with a top level domain?
Hi, I'm getting a duplicate content error from the SEOmoz crawler due to an issue with trailing slashes. It's showing www.milengo.com and www.milengo.com/ as having duplicate page titles. However I'm pretty sure this has been fixed in the .htaccess file since if you type in the domain with a trailing slash it automatically redirects to the domain without a trailing slash, so this shouldn't be an issue. I'm stuck here. Any ideas? Thanks. Rob

Why won't scheduled crawl of my site begin?
I currently have a campaign running on SEOMoz for over a month. It has been showing that a crawl was scheduled to start on 12/21. Now it's 12/23 and there has not been a new crawl, and it still says scheduled for 12/21.. Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? Thanks

Pages Crawled: 250 | Limit: 250
One of my campaigns says: Pages Crawled: 250 | Limit: 250 Is this because it's new and the limit will go up to 10,000 after the crawl is complete? I have a pro account, 4 other campaigns running and should be allowed 50,000 pages in total
