I deleted an EzineArticle to reuse somewhere more useful, but now I find it has been copied (and links to competitors added). Anyway, that's not really the main point.
What I am wondering is, as they have been reproduced 2 or 3 times, are they any use to me at all, or would they just be seen as duplicate content.
They were good articles too. Much too good for an article directory.....

Thanks for the replies. Sound advice.
Good news is the other directory where it was posted with modified links have taken it down on the back of a Google cached copy I sent them.
I don't mind writing, I sometimes even enjoy it. Rewriting though - anything to not have to!

You don't mention the age the of the articles but I'm going to assume older than not if they were on eZineA.
That said, if they really were good and at least a couple of years old, it shouldn't be too much work to update them, expand one, add media (images, video if you can) and drop it on say Squido or maybe HubPages and see how it ranks in comparison to the copies. If it performs you'll know the others are fit for re-post elsewhere.
But like Andy said, a spinning would absolutely be a waste of your time.

I would personally re-write the articles again so they are unique, but don't try to spin them. Once content starts to get duplicated, it is hard to try and be seen as the author of that.
Perhaps there could be some benefit in using Google+ to set yourself as the author, but I honestly don't know how Google would view this seeing as it has been reproduced elsewhere and potentially appear somewhere new. My gut feel is that if they see 3 or 4 copies of the same article, rather than try and determine who is the author, they might just not give the article the time of day.
Start again is my view.

Using Product Descriptions in Meta Description
Hi All We have over 10000 Products and a while ago we spent some time adding Product Descriptions to the Product Pages, For Example we have Product - Black Snazaroo Face Paint Product Description - Great for Childrens parties, fundraising events, Halloween or other festive faces. An easy makeup to apply and remove. All Snazaroo face paints are Non toxic, Fragrance free and Skin friendly. Snazaroo is suitable for all skin types, however it is always recommended you do a skin patch test on a small area before full application. Unfortuantly our Meta Descriptions really need some work, for example this same page contains the following meta descriptions We realise this could be holding our site back. Is it ok to use the same Product Description inside the Meta Description Tags also, for example can we use the Meta Description for this Page - Thanks

If we use content copied from another site ( assuming we have not plagerized), does it hurt our Google Rankings?
We have permission from another company to copy their content and use it on our site. This happens when we are describing a manufacturer's product and we copy pages from their site and add these pages to our site in order to describe the product we are selling. Is this considered duplicate content? Can this practice hurt us?

What is the best practice for using the same content on two pages?
I have two websites in a very similar niche(s)...I have good unique content article that I would like to use on both sites because it adds value to the visitor experience.. Example: Science of Colors would be very useful for my seattle house painting paint colors page. I want to have content so they do not need to leave the site to navigate to second site. Would the identical content trigger a penalty or would it be crawled, ignored, and not indexed. Does having a rel=authorship on one site trump the site..Or is it a pile of BAD.

I have created 2 blogs for a client as they have 2 domains (1 for their core business, and 1 for a product). I want to use the same content on both blogs. What is the best way to set this up so there are no ranking or duplicate content issues?
We are pushing SEO for only one of the domains, therefore I would like one to be dominant. We will be sending the blog post via email to their database, therefore each blog needs to have the same content. Thank you!

What Website Visual Structure Software Do You Use?
I need to continually create website trees for our group of websites. I was wondering what software you guys use to create site structure/trees? I've used Powerpoint, Giffy and other diagram software but ideally I want to find something that crawls my site and spits out a diagram and also gives me the option to add none existing trees so I can show new purposed sections. Cheers, Gary

Using own domain for Google blog
Is it worth the effort using your own domain for a Google blog? After adding my own domain to a blog I see a boost in ranking, maybe the url has more value without the blogspot extension, or that Google might treat the (max.10) pages you produce under your own domain as "independent" thus giving you the chance of building your own domain trust...?
