Ecombuffet.com are offering a Rescue Review focused on Panda - Penguin and identifying issues. Has anyone used this service or aware of the organisation in general?

http://www.ecombuffet.com/rescue-review.htm . I have 2 sites that have definitely been hit by penguin and getting worse so am thinking of paying for this service as nothing I do seems to stop the slide (more like a plummet).
Any comments welcome.

Sorry, missed that!

Thanks guys for the comments.

Thanks for the compliment and recommendation Francisco
The first step I recommend for anyone who feels they have been impacted by a traffic drop is file a Reconsideration Request with Google.
I have always taken this step with every client who I accept regardless of whether they feel they have been penalized or not. It truly does not hurt to ask. Matt previously shared the fears which prevent site owners from filing a Reconsideration Request (i.e. what if I am not penalized and then they find something wrong) are typically unfounded.
Google will typically respond in a week letting you know if you are manually penalized or not. If your site is manually penalized, then you have your answer....for free! I have never charged anyone for making this inquiry. It is quick and easy.
If you skip this step, then your site could be mis-identified as having a Penguin / Panda or other issue. You can spend a lot of time and resources not handling the root issue properly as a result.
If no manual action has been taken against your site, then you are left to studying your website and analytic data to determine the root issue. I would recommend leaving that task to a professional unless you are really comfortable with this activity.
I have no experience with the "Rescue Review". The site seems like a full service Digital Marketing agency. Not knowing anything about the company, I reviewed the home page for a minute and found some reasons why I would not choose their services. In short, they are a provider of SEO services but have issues with their site:
1. The site appears in both www and non-www form. http://ecombuffet.com/ and http://www.ecombuffet.com/
2. Underscores in the URLs
3. Long title tag (74 chars) "Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services. Get your website ranked on top."
4. Half the images are missing alt tags
I'll stop there. The company may be great, but I have concerns about SEO providers who do not incorporate SEO best practices into their own site. And not to be a complete hypocrite I should definitely mention my company site has been under construction for 18 months and wont launch anytime soon, so I am hardly in a position to judge.
Best of luck Shane.

Hello all
As some members have noted, it is largely about having the time, resources, in-depth knowledge, and ability to identify the exact problems that have affected one's site (there have been so many Google changes that you need to be able to differentiate each one and identify which one(s) have affected you).
We don't use just one tool and it's not all automated. We use a variety of tools and perform a manual review.
We identify all foundational SEO problems with a site (as covered on our Rescue Review page), as well as provide a Link Audit (as part of the Rescue Review). The Rescue Review includes an extensive, comprehensive breakdown of all issues with a site and provides suggested solutions for each issue (we even provide marketing feedback - i.e. if we see areas that could be improved in that aspect, we provide you with that feedback) ...we don't just provide the bare bones stuff, we dive all the way in.
The Link Audit provides a detailed overview of your links and any suggested actions on those. With this detailed analysis, we also provide a couple of documents to help guide you in link building and link cleanup (versus just saying 'hey this is your problem, figure out how to fix it on your own).
We just wanted to provide a few more details on the service. So while, yes, technically the extensive review that we perform and provide 'could' be done by yourself, we take the time (lots of time) and frustration out of it for you. And we go above and beyond to provide as many details as possible (again, even where it concerns marketing, which many wouldn't consider part of an SEO review or a Panda/Penguin review). We also offer a free consultation with the SEO Rescue so you can talk about the findings with us.
And, of course, you can hire us to help with your SEO efforts but whether you do or not, you'll walk away with A TON of knowledge and direction in all areas (since we don't just cover on-site SEO, off-site SEO/links, on-site marketing -> we cover it all).

You will be paying them to identify issues you could do yourself, assuming you had the time and ability. If you don't then you might need to pay someone to do that for you. But you should get a couple of quotes and get feedback on any company / service you consider.
Keep in mind they are not offering to do any of the leg work of getting low quality links removed, which is tough. You'll either need to learn how to do the outreach to get links removed, document it all, and file a reconsideration request or get someone to do those tasks as well.
If you do have the time, you should have a look through some recent SEOmoz panda/penguin guide posts and do it yourself. You'll learn a lot!
Good luck.

Hreflang implementation issue
We are currently handling search for a global brand www.example.com which has presence in many countries worldwide. To help Google understand that there is an alternate version of the website available in another language, we have used “hreflang” tags. Also, there is a mother website (www.example.com/global) which is given the attribution of “x-default” in the “hreflang” tag. For Malaysia as a geolocation, the mother website is ranking instead of the local website (www.example.com/my) for majority of the products. The code used for “hreflang” tag execution, on a product page, being: These “hreflang” tags are also present in the XML sitemap of the website, mentioning them below: <loc>http://www.example.com/my/product_name</loc> <lastmod>2017-06-20</lastmod> Is this implementation of “hreflang” tags fine? As this implementation is true across all geo-locations, but the mother website is out-ranking me only in the Malaysia market. If the implementation is correct, what could be other reasons for the same ranking issue, as all other SEO elements have been thoroughly verified and they seem fine.

Suggestions for a SEO Review
I think it would be beneficial to have a third party seo review of the network of sites my team and I manage and was wondering if any of you had suggestions for what sort of tests should be done or that we should expect to see done during one of these reviews. We are a small team who has varying seo experience and have been working hard to make improvements to our sites in the past year. Most of our sites have been completely overhauled in the last 12-16 months and seo work that had not been done in the past has been setup, along with some corrections that may have been harming seo. We believe we are on the right track and have learned a good amount about seo in that time, but it would be nice to have some "expert" feedback outside of our office to get a clearer picture on anything we may be missing or some suggested improvements. A sort of double check on the work we have done.

Will aggressive use of branded keywords in anchor text attract Penguin’s wrath?
I'm working on a site for a serviced apartment site http://www.alcove.co.in/ which offers apartments in 9 cities in India. Site was ranking in 1st page of Google for “serviced apartment + city” for 7 cities until sometime in Jan 2013. However organic traffic has been gradually falling since sometime in September 2012 (40% fall this month over same period last year). There’s been no sudden fall in traffic which we may link with any Penguin update. There have been no warning messages in Google WMT. Even today the site ranks in 1st page for 3 cities; however ‘Serviced apartments bangalore’ which was the biggest revenue earner, is not ranked in first 5 pages. My questions are whether will aggressive use of branded keywords in anchor text will attract Penguin’s wrath, does Google makes allowance for case when company's name includes keywords. In our case, company name is Alcove Service apartments, could there be some other reason for fall in ranking/traffic? The distribution of anchors (external links, multiple links from same domain are counted) is : percent

Keywords 34%
brand+keywords 43%
Natural 4%
only brand 11%
URL 7% For the above, Brand = ‘Alcove Service apartments’ or ‘Alcove Serviced apartments’ brand+keywords = various combinations of ‘alcove’ + [‘guest houses’ or ‘hotels’ or ‘accommodation’] + city1 + city2… Intriguingly, Open Site Explorer analysis of domain metrics (Domain Authority, Followed Linking Root Domains, etc) ranks Alcove higher than all but one site appearing in 1st page of Google for ‘Serviced apartments bangalore’. Most of alcove’s links are from article directories (no spun articles were used), directories and link exchanges with relevant sites. Any suggestions and guidance on what we could do to remedy the situation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks0 -
Google indexing issue?
Hey Guys, After a lot of hard work, we finally fixed the problem on our site that didn't seem to show Meta Descriptions in Google, as well as "noindex, follow" on tags. Here's my question: In our source code, I am seeing both Meta descriptions on pages, and posts, as well as noindex, follow on tag pages, however, they are still showing the old results and tags are also still showing in Google search after about 36 hours. Is it just a matter of time now or is something else wrong?

Duplication Issue?
One of our copywriters has just written a blog to be posted on our own company blog to be reviewed by myself, however I had noticed that the blog post has some duplication issues with one of our own product pages, about 60% duplication, is it still worth posting? Will search engines still index the blog post? Kind Regards,

Panda Prevention Plan (PPP)
Hi SEOMOzers, I'm planning to prepare Panda deployment, by creating a check-list from thinks to do in SEO to prevent mass trafic pert. I would like to spread these ideas with SEOMoz community and SEOMoz staff in order to build help ressources for other marketers. Here are some ideas for content website : the main one is to block duplicate content (robots.txt, noindex tag, according to the different canonical case) same issue on very low quality content (questions / answers, forums), by inserting canonical redirect or noindex on threads with few answers
