Majestic gives me a 24 situation and 24 trust flow. Seomoz just a total number of 7\. How come the difference? My ranking is still bad, so is Majestic crawling faster then google?
-
Hi, my total domain value number on SEOmoz is 7. In Majestic it is 24 situation and 24 trust flow. My ranking is still bad (page2) and my competitors have a lower trust/ situation flow in Majestic. But in Seomoz the're better.
Is the conclusion that Majestic is more up to date then Google itself and that Seomoz is more inline with the google crawling? Because Majestic doesnt reflect my ranking.
(ps I started with the domain for a month, and I only have some history in registration)

It looks like Google hasn't re-cached that page since you were added:
So, the links may just not have taken effect yet.
-
haha too bat. A link from home at Seomoz would help
The link is on there partner website: http://www.topmba.com/qs-world-mba-tour/partners but we have over 30 links frome serveral good domains.
-
Argh... sorry, I meant "happy to look" (not "link") - my typos are the worst I was curious what page on TopMBA.com had the link, so that I could help assess any quality issues.
-
Hi Peter thanks again. Its a website in the Netherlands:
www.goedkoopsteautoverzekering.net which means cheapest car insurance in the Neterlands. The main keyword is "goedkoopste autoverzekering". A link would be great!
-
Ah, sorry - yeah a DA=7 and an mR=7 are very different
We're getting new indexes about every couple of weeks now, I think, but it depends not only on the domain, but on how deep the page is in the domain and what the quality is of that page. Some pages, even on good domains, don't carry much weight.
Also keep in mind that, even once Google has cached it, the impact of a handful of links is rarely immediate or even noticeable. It's much more complex than that, so ultimately you've got to keep doing what you're doing. It doesn't really matter what our stats say or Majestic's stats if you're not ranking. In other words, don't build a few links and then sit around waiting for the metrics to update. Keep rolling forward.
If you want to post a sample link, I'd be happy to look, but I realize this question is public, so I'm not sure if that's viable for you.

Thanks for the reply.
its not the Mozrank but the Domain autority which is 7. The PA is 1. But I have several high quality links. For example from topmba.com. What is the delay of Seomoz/ opensite explorer to get these links crawled? Shall I just use Google cache memory date/time to know when Google last indexed my site?
-
Our general opinion (obviously, we're biased) is that the SEOmoz stats are better at tracking high-quality links, but the Majestic stats are fresher and track recent links better - if I had to over-simplify it. When you say your "domain value number" is 7, do you mean MozRank? What are your DA/PA stats like?
Keep in mind that, regardless of which numbers you use, these are only two pieces of the ranking puzzle, which has hundreds of factors. Our MozRank and MozTrust are analogous to Google PageRank and TrustRank, but there are many other factors in link quality and there are many ranking factors that have nothing to do with links.
If your site is only a month old, it's even harder to get a clear picture, as Google may still be assessing you. Your ranking could move a lot in the next few weeks.
One of our community members recently wrote a post that's a pretty good introduction to other ranking factors:

I can see competitors ranking for certain long-tail keywords but cannot find them on web pages. What am I missing?
Hi there. I'm pretty new to SEO and I've been doing a fair bit of training but there is one aspect I have yet to grasp. When I carry out keyword research, I get all these results and I understand the metrics. What I'm not getting is, when a competitor is ranking highly for say "where can I buy fresh turkeys", I assume that that phrase must appear somewhere on the page, but it doesn't. I realise I'm just not thinking about this in the right way. Can anyone offer clarification, please? Kind regards, Bruce

# of links and how it impacts ranking
Hi everyone I was running a competitor analysis in Moz Pro of my site and 3 competitors that are ranked above me. One of the things I noticed is that my # of total links is very high compared to 2 of my competitors(please see attachment). Other seo tools are telling me the same. This is mainly due to a few affiliate sites that have us in their footer. I was wondering if this could impact our ranking if some of these sites have very low domain authority and have thousands of backlinks to our site? I am looking into starting the disavowing process. Why am I trusting in MozRank and the other scores (from a part time SEO perspective)?
I'll jump right in. I look at the "Competitive Link Analysis" and I see that it says at the top "See the Top 5 contenders for each SEO ranking factor and compare it against the competition." I take them at their word that the 5 links they are displaying are what they think the 5 best links are. On my site they do alright, although my top 3 links are from the same domain, and I know that those links aren't really that great. But they are decent and whatever. The next two are good links. HOWEVER, the links for my competitors are in many cases CRAP. Yet Moz shows them as being the best link my competitor's have. Or at least in this analysis. For example, The number 1 link (supposedly) for a competitor of mine is a link from their own Pinterest page. They have 50 followers. I have personally dug up links they have that are 1000X better than this link. Links so much better that someone just using common sense and no training whatsoever would know that it is a better link. I do get valuable information from this site, but stuff like this makes me wonder if I'd be just fine without any of their link building tools and just going on my own. I do not trust their accuracy. And yes, I've read all the blogs about how they correlate to rankings... Am I missing something? I know you can't be perfect, but this stuff seems to be very poor information in some cases. I have been a member for a year roughly.

I Got A Scraper Delisted From Google ...
I have an electronics niche news website. A scraper who had an online store selling products in my niche copied every one of my articles and posted them on his site under the heading "News" ... generally within 1/2 hour of me posting them on my site. His site was even showing up in the rankings before mine. I filed a copyright infringement claim with Google two weeks ago via their online form explaining what he was doing. Today, I received an email from Google saying that they have reviewed his site and have delisted it from the search engine. I just checked, and he is GONE ... completely delisted, no trace. My site traffic has also jumped at least 25% today. It pays to complain! Just sharing 😉

Keyword Search - another site bypassed me and they are not ranked well...
I was trying to optimize the keywords "music for kids" . This is a no brainer because my URL is "musicforkids" My On-Page Report Card for "music for kids" gives my site a "A". The on page report card for the other site gets an "F". But the other site comes up number ONE in the organic Google search and my site comes up number three. The two sites above me receive a crappy on page Keyword report for the key words "music for kids" but they still come up above me for that search term. What's the deal?

Good tools to compare site speed on different sites?
Google tells me that my site is slower than 81% of the internet. Now this is a very large news website, so I would like to compare this against other very large news websites. Are there any tools that will be able to tell me the speed of a list of websites? I am looking for something a little more detailed than 'this site loaded in 1 second'. Also, do any of you fellow SEOs know of any good tools to analyse what is causing your site to slow down? Kind regards

Is it valuable for a local business to build links into its Google Place?
G'Day All, Almost all of my clients are geo-based small service-based businesses. I've noticed during my research that the google places for our competitors in 3 separate niches (3 different clients) seem to be the dominating results for almost all relevant keyword terms. I'm curious to see if anyone has actively tried to increase the ranking of a google place by building links into it. Is this something that anyone else sees value to for a local small business? I would love to get some thoughts. And for that matter I'm also curious to see if anyone thinks there might be value to optimizing a Facebook Fan Page or Yelp Business page. They all seem to be key drivers of traffic our client websites so I'm wondering how difficult it is to make them rank as opposed to a website. Thanks!
