When linking from forums, blogs, or any other forms of SEO link building, should we link with or without the http://?
Does google favor one more than the other or index them as two different pages?

Any link that points to an external url technically has the http protocol, it just may be inferred or added by a browser/visual editor, etc. - so it's all the same to a search engine.
There is a difference between http://www.domain.com and http://domain.com, or any other time a single resource has multiple URL's...and this does matter. You don't need to try to control how you're linked to (cuz you can't) but make these duplicate url's are canonicalized (rel="canonical") or 301 redirected, so that search engines don't see it as duplicate content.
Here's Mr. Cutts explaining 301 vs. rel="canonical" in case you're headed down that road.

Hi,
When i participate on forums, i usually use http:// because most of the time when you simply enter example.com, it wouldn't recognize it as a link; thus not making it clickable and it doesn't stand out from the other text. When you use http:// forums will recognize it as a link and make it clickable. Furthermore, it stands out.
Regarding to whether Google favor which one more, i believe it is either between www. or non www. rather than http:// or not. For example using www.examplesite.com or example.com. I don't think Google has a favoritism on this but rather how you want Google to see your website as. With www. or non www. Whenever you link, you should be consistant and always use the same form of link so that Google will recognize that "Ah, you want your site to be show as www. and not non www.

Blog traffic / link ratio? (Esimated of how much traffic will result in a link)
Hi, Was wondering if people could please tell me some estimates of how much traffic is likely to gain links to a blog post? For example 1,000 hits = 1 link, Hence 10,000 hits = 10 links to a blog post? I understand there is no magic ratio I just want to know what people have achieved. I’m after averages not just a one off really successful blog post too. Please specify the topic you achieve this in e.g. SEO, photography, business, heath... etc.

Site-wide/Blogroll Anchor Text Linking
I have some blogs that I own with 10,000+ indexed pages of content. I have wondered for sometime if adding anchor text links for my clients on relevant blogs would be helpful or harmful. I realize that having an anchor text link on ONE article page in context is better than 10,000 anchor text links on my blog roll or footer, but I have been reluctant to use this strategy due to the bad press site wide and blogroll links have gotten, What has been YOUR experience with this method?

How might Google differentiate between an artificial link exchange and partners linking to each other?
Hi, All! Artificial link exchanges (contacting a vaguely connected site and requesting to exchange links to increase your PR) is, as far as I know, considered an outdated, not-so-smart technique, as Google might devalue them. Yet, for real business partners to exchange links seems to be an entirely accepted and encouraged technique. While that would be intuitive to a human who's viewing the pages. how might Google detect when two sites that link to each other are linking because they are trusted business associates (valuable) as opposed to when they are doing a link exchange (devalued)? Thanks! Aviva

Total Links vs Ext. Followed Links
Hi I'm fairly new to SEO and SEOMOZ. I've created a campaign for my own site and I've added 3 competitor sites. There are 1,385 total links to my site and a massive 49,450 links to one of my competitor's site. However under "Ext. Followed Links", there are 1,045 to my site and only 911 to the same competitor site. Am I correct that it is the "Ext. Followed Links" which are more important from an SEO point of view as the other links have the "no follow" attribute set? Or have I got this wrong? Thanks James

SEOs and web developers frequently leave links to their site in the footer of their clients' sites. Does this negatively impact the site with the links?
Does this provide any SEO value to the receiving site? Has anyone experienced problems doing this?
