Page rank of 2 with zero SEO and a 2 month old domain?
-
Hello,
I helped work on a website for a friend. We used wordpress, a theme from elegant themes and wrote the content over 4 days. Zero back links, no seo, etc. Well, a little on page optimization and that's about it. Oh, we did ONE back link from a review site.
The domain was brand new; never registered before.
About a week after it started getting indexed, it jump from no page rank to a page rank of 1. About a week later, it jumped to a page rank of 2.
Again, zero seo (aside from above stated).
The site is: trade lines review dot com
A page rank of 2 is nothing to write home about, but given the circumstances, how is this even possible?
Thanks you!

You mean aside from the fact that I've been writing web pages for 15 years, do I have an article somewhere that someone who "discovered" the internet 5 years ago wrote to "prove" the point? No. Don't have it. However, I dropped a brand new, nicely optimized page on my website yesterday afternoon, and before midnight it was #4 on Google.
Here's the query: "Morningside Recovery Complaints"
You'll see the page sitting fat and happy at #4.

I would like to know more quantified data as to why this seems to be so. Jim, do you have any articles, statistics or data to prove your statement? Now asking for myself. I am asking so that I can prove it to other people when I make the same claim....and they will definitely ask
Thanks!

Page rank of 1 or 2 is quite minimal, and it's most likely due to your on-page seo. Sometimes brand new, well optimized content can rank on Google if it thinks it's unique enough. That's why blogging and creating content is so important.

I am curious to know what tools you are using to check your PageRank. Google very rarely updates PageRank. I think at most it's maybe 3 times a year. In my own experience it's been less often than that. So, the reason I ask is that PageRank is not usually changing as much as in the example you provided because Google simply doesn't update it that often.
There may be people here who know better than me how often this is done and how often it's been updated in the last year, like Dr. Pete Meyers.
I would check these things out before jumping to any conclusions about your new site's PageRank.
Cheers,
Dana

Hi, We have a project https://www.shipwaves.me/ and https://www.shipwaves.com/ and however if we are doing SEO for .me domain - is this give early results like as .com domain. I'm not sure that .me is in the category of .me domains. Well, if we are following the same strategy as like following for .com domains - is that the results will be the same or not. Also, in terms of any additional strategy to be done to make the SEO little faster for the .me domain. Guys, please share your thought on this.

Hi, Let's say we are going to create pages in the URL path www.website.com/directory/sub-pages/. In case this page www.website.com/directory/ doesn't exists or redirected; will the pages created in this URL path like stated above have any issues in-terms of SEO? We will link these pages from somewhere in the website and planning to redirect the /directory/ to homepage. Suggestions please.

Still no good search results after 2 months of indexation
Hi guys, One of our website (https://www.residentiebosrand.be/) has been online for about two months. It's indexed and Google shows search results. But the website is not ranking on the keywords it's supposed to be ranking: 'residentie bosrand'. How come we still don't find the website on the first pages in the search results, while these are the main keywords on the website's URL, page, ... ? Best regards,

How long for google to de-index old pages on my site?
I launched my redesigned website 4 days ago. I submitted a new site map, as well as submitted it to index in search console (google webmasters). I see that when I google my site, My new open graph settings are coming up correct. Still, a lot of my old site pages are definitely still indexed within google. How long will it take for google to drop off or "de-index" my old pages? Due to the way I restructured my website, a lot of the items are no longer available on my site. This is on purpose. I'm a graphic designer, and with the new change, I removed many old portfolio items, as well as any references to web design since I will no longer offering that service. My site is the following:

Website Rankings Dropped April 12
A client website dropped drastically on April 12. Outside of some branded keywords, search results dropped off of the first page and are buried on page 3+ at best. Nothing has changed on the site, and there were no problems with the link profile. GWT has no manual actions. Kind of at a loss. Does anyone know if there was an algorithm update or anything external that may be causing some problems here? Site is www.averybiomedical.com if you want to take a look, but I'm just curious if there was anything I should be aware of. Thanks for the help!

Diluting your authority - adding pages diluting rankings of other pages?
I'm looking after a site that has around 400 pages. All of these pages rank pretty well for the KW they are targetting. My question is: if we add another 400 pages without doing any link building work, holding DA the same, 1) would the rankings of those 400 previously good pages diminish? and 2) Would the new pages, as more and more new ones are created, rank less and less well?

Some rankings fluctuate dramatically
Hi guys, just a quick query this one. For one of our keywords, the rankings are fluctuating wildly. One week we went up 32 spots, then the next friday we were down 28. Nothing dramatic was being done to the site, I have not been trying to "force" any rankings instead focusing on just making our content better. It just seems odd that one week we're on page one, then a few days later we're down on page four. It seems impossible to actually maintain a reliable ranking. I know to expect some fluctuation but every week it's up 20/30, then down 20/30 the next. How can we try to give this keyword some stability? Ideas?
