Competitor Analysis
-
Hi,
Is it possible to use SEOMoz to see the keywords my competitors rank for?
Thanks
Andrew

Not to my knowledge.
Anything that claims to do so is probably simply analyzing backlinks for anchor text, keyword density, or looking at the keywords meta tag - so the data you get back will only be hypothetical as to what your competitors maybe or should be targeting... not necessarily the keywords they are targeting or ranking well for.
SEMrush.com claims to do such a task; however, I personally do not believe that it does an accurate job. At least in my opinion.
Good luck.

If you have SEOMoz Pro, you can setup Competitors in your Campaign Settings. Once configured, click on the Rankings tab of your compaign, then click on a given keyword. You will see a graph comparing how you rank against your competitors for the given keyword over the past 6+ months.
If you do not subscribe to SEOMoz Pro (which you should, cause it ROCKS), you can try using Google Adwords. Instead of searching for a word or phrase, you can search by Website. This displays keyword ideas for the particular website you entered.
So for instance, when I just did Microsoft.com, Windows 7, SQL, Xbox 360 all appeared as keywords. Once you generate these keywords, you can then just Google them and see where your competitors rank in comparison to you.
Hope that helps.
Mike

Competitor Analysis (help!)
Hey everyone, I'm working on keyword research, and am at the point of going through my list and doing some competitive analysis to figure out which phrases are viable as far as competition goes. What methods are you currently using? As of now, we've been manually searching the phrase in Google, and using the Moz toolbar to check the metrics, backlinks, domain authority etc. I remember before the Adwords integration with Moz was removed, there was a more efficient way to do this using the keyword difficulty tool. Any guidance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The SEO-Tool onpage.org (german) offers an interesting tool to analyse your text. But there are differences between languages and factors like proximities, synonyms etc. What are your experiences? tools? does mOz develop a tool for this? This would be a nice Feature for the On-Page Grader! best regards,

Competitive Analysis Problem
I just discovered that, for my competitive analysis, it is set to judge my naked domain instead of www. My rel="canonical" is set to point to www., thus, www. has a much higher domain authority than my naked domain. However, I don;t want to lose all of the history I have accumulated over the years for this domain. How to I make it so SEOmoz matches against www. instead of my naked domain? Which is wiser to gauge by?

How Does On Page Analysis work
Hi guys, I just need to run something past you. when I look at my on page analysis I have 5 key terms I am focusing on. For instance one of them is "computer backup". According to the report the current grade is 'F' when looking at site page "/" which I assume is the home page.
Moz Pro | | cubetech
When I do a lookup on other pages of the site it gets a ranking of A. Which is good. But since the hompage ranking went from A to F my rankings have definitely been affect. So i guess my questions are: does "/" mean the hompage, or all pages overall. What should I really be looking at here. I am assuming that you select certain pages to target certain key words. Should i be focusing like this, or more to the "/". Thanks Guys hoping to clear this one up.0 -
