I'm currently working with a client who provides products in Ireland
Is it massively beneficial for the sited to be hosted on an irish server or will there not be much difference with it being hosted in England?

These guys are right. I use to manage a few sites with servers located in Asia and Europe and the rankings were never affected by the location of the server. So just some hands on experience for you.

It wouldn't make that much of a difference, similarly being hosted in somewhere like the US wouldn't be the end of the world.
If the TLD is .ie, I feel that would have a bigger influence on Google. Similarly, you can tell Google where your Geographic target is in webmaster tools. In the configuration drop-down menu, click settings and ensure that your Geographic target is set up for Ireland.
I mean, the absolute best practice would be to have a .ie domain, targeted in WMT for Ireland with Irish hosting - but I just don't know how feasible or cost effective this would be for you. In this case, 2 out of 3 certainly is not bad. If I was asked whether the hosting, in this case, is likely to have any visible difference, then I'd say no.

I would say there's very very very little difference.
I have UK sites hosted on US servers and they perform extremely well in UK search engines.
Providing your website gives clear signals to Google that the site is targeted to Ireland (Currency in EUROs, Business Address, Links from business's in the local country) I'm sure you will rank just fine in Google.ie.

Hi, I use cloudflare free SSL option. All is fine except it wont work with windows XP . How do you think is it ok in case of old OS/Browser redirect visitors to other domain or subdomain? How do we maintain keyword rankings when creating a domain?
We are creating a new corporate "marketing site" on Hubspot and connecting our existing product site to that as a sub-domain. Our existing site ranks very well for all of our targeted keywords. The existing product site will now be behind a login, so how do we transfer juice to the new site in Hubspot? Or can we?

Recommended Web Hosting Companies
Some of you might have seen that I recently discovered that another was mirroring my website(petmedicalcenter.com). Found out that this domain (justinchina.co.uk) was previously hosted on Host Monster and when we upgraded to a dedicated IP this last year we got that same IP address. Unfortunately, the justinchina.co.uk domain from GoDaddy is still pointing to our server/IP. Thus the mirrored site. This has been a huge headache and a loss in rankings has made this even more frustrating. New domain's Sitemap.xml file loaded to old domain - how does this effect SEO?
I have a client who recently changed their domain when they redesigned their site. The client wanted the old site to remain live for existing customers with links to the new domain. I guess as a workaround, the developer loaded the new domain's sitemap.xml file to the old domain. What SEO ramifications would this have if any on the primary (new) domain?

Hello, currently the main site im working on is a .com, but have the .ca version purchased from register.com. should i have this setup to redirect to the .com site. will google see these as dup content. We have the .ca for our canadian customers but both sites are identical. Thank you

Change of domain name?
Hello, We are currently developing a new site for an existing online clothing retailer. The existing site is on a .co.uk domain, however we are targeting a global market and wondered whether we could/should launch the new site under a .com address and whether this would be beneficial? New Sub-domains or New Directories for 10+ Year Domain?
We've got a one-page, 10+ year old domain that has a 65/100 domain authority that gets about 10k page views a day (I'm happy to share the URL but didn't know if that's permitted). The content changes daily (it's a daily bible verse) so most of this question is focused on domain authority, not the content. We're getting ready to provide translations of that daily content in 4 languages. Would it be better to create sub-domains for those translations (same content, different language) or sub-folders? Example: http://cn.example.com
