Google Search Results and Trailing Slash
-
I noticed that when I search a page; Google is returning my search results without a trailing slashing. I have my site setup to adding a trailing slash and redirect to one if it is not.
So http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3 redirects to site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/
I just did a search for site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/ and the only result is the non-trailing version. See attached.
All internal links and sitemap include a trailing slash.
Should I be concerned about this?? I am concerned that it could be hurting my search results.
Any help or feedback would be awesome.

Hi Scott, when did you set up your 301? If you look at the supplementary index, you'll find both your pages the one ending with the / and the legacy one.
I'm seeing that google still have the cache of you non-trailing slash page in their index since the last time they cached that page was on March 2nd. I saw that you set up correctly the 301, so it probably will be just a matter of time that google will drop the old page and leave only the new "slashed" one..

My site links in Bing search results are pulling through the footer text instead of the meta description (see image). Is there any way of controlling this? 2L2VusT

Omitted results
Hello We are facing a loss in ranking and organic traffic from 3 months on our ecommerce website. Mostly we have lost our ranking on our product pages. These pages are gone in the "omitted results" of google. It all started 3 months ago, when we had to face a duplicate content issue due to a technical priblems with our servers: 2 other domains that we own have been pushed online on google, while they shouldn't have. They have created millions of links to our main domain in a few days, and duplicate version / redirection to our main website. We have fixed this a long time ago now. But in GWT we still see that these domains are bringing links to our main ecommerce. It has dowgraded from 36 millions links to 3 millions.... Even if today there is no link ! We have done a lot of optimizations on site like adding specific content to our most important page, rebuilding the navigation, adding microdatas, adding canonical urls on products pages that we found were very similar (we sell very technical products, and we have products that are very similar. Now we have choosen 1 product to put in canonical each time it was necessary) Bt still our products pages don't rank in google. They stay in the "omitted results". Before they were ranking very well on 1st page of google's results. And we have noticed that some adswe put on ads listing websites are now well ranked in the google's results!... Like if the ads were having more authority on the subject than our own webpages... We started to delete some of these ads. But it's not always possible. And 2-3 of them are still online. Any advice to get our most important webpages at the top on the google's results back? Regards

Should component pages be visible in the search result?
Hi everyone, My question is suppose i have a blog having 200 pages arranged in footer like seomoz blog and when i move to 2nd page and say the url is http://www.seomoz.org/blog?page=2 and when i search exact url on google should this page be visible in search result or not. Since all component pages of seomoz blog are visible, i think this should not be a problem but when i see other popular blogs like SEJ and seroundtable none of their component pages are visible in search result. By the way i am using rel=prev and next but not robots: noindex, follow

Searching in Google using the Site:www.example.com specification - is it in an order?
Hi Gurus, Just a quick searching question. If you do a Google search using the site: specification eg. site:www.example.com Is the list returned by Google in an order of something similar to 'Page Authority' or some other order eg. page first seen date etc. Because you are looking at your single site, is Google listing your pages back to you in it's perceived order of current 'popularity'? Thanks, Brad

Title Tag for homepage Not displaying correctly in Google Search Results
Hi We have a problem with how Google is is displaying our title tag when a user does a search on our company name Increation. I have attached two images of how the title tag for our Homepage is dispayed in Google Search Results. One of them is "increations" - this is the result which is displaying incorrectly. The other shows Kitchens | Bathrooms | | Luxury Kitchens | - which is how we want the title tag to be dispalyed. This inorreclt result is only displayed when a user types in Increation into Google. (BTW it only happens on Google, not the other search engines). To give you some background an external SEO company did some work for us (before I joined as usual :-)). They built a lot of anchor links with the word "Increations" pointing back to our home page. Is this whats causing the probelm? Also how can we resolve this issue so that the correct Title Tag is displayed. Thanks for your help. Mik increation_search_results_google#hyhfZ
